The Silent Age is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 69.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thinking required. I would say this has to be one of the more unique games on Bigfish - not just in look but in over all story and mechanics. One of the better story lines even tho predictable in some ways but handled well and made for a fun ride. There are no helps or hints - this game is made for those who like a doable challenge and who hate to be spoon fed. I hope for more in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great change of pace I love HO & adventure games and play them all the time. This game broke a little of the monotony and still gave the puzzle-like quality of having to figure things out. It wasn't as challenging as Samarost or other Amanita Design games; however, I got really into it and bought the full version after only a few minutes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from autsj Loved this game! It starts a little slow, but once it grabs you you're hooked! The storyline was very intriguing. Absolutely could not stop playing till the end. Would love to see more like this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oddly Fascinating This is not your typical game and that's what makes it interesting. The graphics are simple and the storytelling retro, but that all cleverly helps create a bizarre atmosphere that is vastly different than 99% of BigFish games. It takes a while to get into it but when you do, the substantial challenges, good voice acting, and intelligent story reward you with a unique experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BUY THIS GAME!! at first I thought that it seemed a bit simplistic....but Oh no...what a storyline...what a game...most fun that I have had in a long time with a game...give it a try, you won't regret it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Captivating The description is correct, you WILL lose yourself in this game as it's so very transportive. I just spent the better part of an evening within it and feel like I've been somewhere else. You'll probably love this if you enjoyed games like Fran Bow, Kentucky Route Zero and Limbo. The story is immersive as is the atmosphere. What's required of you is always engaging, never frustrating, although there was one instance where I caved and looked up a walkthrough. Yet that was near the beginning when I wasn't using my thinking cap and trying to "rush" through; I had to stop and remind myself that the pacing here is different from HOGs in that the next move isn't always as apparent. Overall, a highly memorable point-and-click casual game that's a welcome change from the usual fare offered here. Wish I'd played it sooner when I first saw it somewhere else. Many thanks to BFG for adding this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely loved it! Finally! I'm so burnt out on dark, dreary gothic scenarios. This was a refreshing change of pace. Everything related to the storyline without a hos to be found. It was challenging but workable if you just use a little common logic and keep your eyes open. I encourage any level of player to give this a try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thanks for the lunch that I can't eat! BRAVO!!!! What a fun throw back ride that was!!! I didn't want it end! Please send a few more games like that my way...but make sure they are good quality like this one. If you enjoyed it as much as I did, maybe check out "Blackwell Unbound". 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SF and Snark...What's not to like? This game, in a way that no other "retro" game has , brought back the sense of wonder and magic that I first experienced back in the 60's and 70's. The wonder that you could get characters to move and do things on a screen was like magicI Long live Sierra! I grew up in Silicon Valley in that era and the references to all the news, culture and politics, computer companies, and politics of the time are spot on. It wasn't constant but just enough to make me unexpectedly laugh out loud often. That is not to say that there isn't a solid game here; the story line is SF at its best, and was a good mystery/adventure; and it was a helpful reminder that although I loved the games of yesteryear, the frustration when you _couldn't_ get a clue and spent hours over one item, is one I've gladly left behind. On the other hand, as many other fishies have noted, this is not a hand holding game, and is fun to figure out. There is a sense of satisfaction that can't be replaced when you intuitively reach for the right answer on your own! I highly recommend this game to everyone - newbies as well as experienced, you all start on the same level playing field. On the other hand if you don't like games with out hints available then this is not for you. Check out the demo for yourself. Others have pointed out additional details of the game, but I wan't to at least urge you to give it a chance. You may be glad you did. At the very least you will learn what fruit has to do with computers...
