Albert had everything a painter could want, a successful business with a loving family to support him. But for the last few months he's been plagued by nightmares, by visions of a terrifying being that he has named Solitude. One stormy evening, he finds his nightmares have become reality when Solitude kidnaps his family, taking them deep into her painting. Albert yearns to free them, but doing so will come at a high price. All his memories have been corrupted and now only Solitude knows the truth. Subliminal Realms: The Masterpiece Collector's Edition 4.3 5 92 92
A Masterpiece of art gaming (if I can coin the term) STORY LINE: This is not so much a linear game as you are plopped into the middle of an artist?s dreams and have to figure out how to save your wife and daughter, not to mention you. This game is very playful, colorful and a refreshing change from the common run. GRAPHICS: Bright cheery, painterly PETS/HELPERS: Smudge, an Egyptian dog with wings. He is very helpful but stays in the background most of the time for those of you who don?t like pets. I do, and he is an intriguing one. MAP: On a compass and is interactive PUZZLES: The HOS are outstanding in that you don?t have to find a ton of things, but you do have to look carefully. So far the most items I?ve had to find were about 10 and 5 or 6 is more often. You really have to *look* though and keep your mind open. HOW MANY SETTINGS? 4 including custom. MORPHING OBJECTS? No. COLLECTIONS? Yes in sets of 5, you need to find little squares that when you collect 5 you can put together and paint a picture. ALTERNATE GAME: No MY RATING: 5+. If you like the arts, creativity, thinking outside the box, and non-linear games, try this one. I love it, and had to stop and write my review before the game ended. I highly recommend this game for those who like fun and unusual games. July 13, 2015
Exciting game! I found this game quite exciting. This game has strong storyline, the puzzles are interesting and not that difficult as in other games. The HOS is pretty easy for me. The art is bright and clear, the VOS and the music are beyond praise. As a result - keep five stars from me :) July 14, 2015
Love every minute of it. Despite my initial misgivings I am really enjoying this game and find it quite a bit different to the ones we are usually offered,. another thing is the length. Rarely do I still have a game to play the day after purchase but must say I have just started the bonus game which again looks to be a long one. Well done and many more game similar to this one please. I feel I would like to recommend this to all age groups too as there isn't anything at all offensive. July 12, 2015
Artistic, Clever, Lengthy, AND a Story With An Unexpected Twist Based On Completed Game This Dev's games all share the one thing that always makes me want to explore further. They make me THINK. They ALL have their own unique style in graphics and theme. Each one totally different from the others. Subliminal Realms: the Masterpiece is no exception. In addition to absorbing gameplay, this one is a visual FEAST. Watching the scenes with water and sky was especially mesmerizing. Clouds morphing in to fantastical beasts. Animated paint strokes giving the water movement. Artistic, clever, and beautiful. SO many games show the Devs best efforts in the demo. After that, they devolve into run-of-the-mill, same-thing-different-day, boredom. For me, this game got MORE interesting and involved the further I went. Great HOPs, so varied and in keeping with the theme, I just wanted MORE. ORIGINAL mini-games, fun and varying in difficulty. A LENGTHY game. There are times you will have more than a few pieces of inventory and the jump map makes it easy to get back to where you need to go. A handsome helper who is very good at helping without a lengthy show. As a matter of fact, you almost WANT to use him just to hear him SPEAK. Great voice. A story with DEPTH and an unexpected twist. Unusual music to assist the mood, tracks available in the extras. CE includes a strategy guide, bonus game, re-playable mini-games, collectible slides that, after being found, we "paint" and then, "display" in the room that holds our achievements trophies. A bonus "secret game" is included and is unlocked after playing the first two. Of course, there are posters, concept art, etc. ENGROSSING gameplay, UNIQUE graphics, and a story with "meat" have earned this gem of a game a well-deserved place in my list of top favorites. Well done Devs! Many thanks to you and BFG. To finish, I'd like to suggest you take a look in the forums for game help and lots of info you won't find on these game review pages. Get there by clicking on "Get game tips", found at the top of this page, right hand corner, above the game video. Hope YOU find some fun today. Happy gaming! July 14, 2015
Interesting and fun!! I really liked this game! The hidden object games were fun and different. The whole game was refreshing and different. The story was a little similar too a couple of other games I have played, but none the less it was very fun and a different take on it. I loved the graphics and the voice overs actually had feeling in their voice, not monotone. I recommend this game for sure!!! July 12, 2015
Beautiful game I found this to be a beautiful game, and quite lengthy as well. The storyline doesn't offer anything particularly new or original (although if you pay close attention to the ending, an interesting interpretation can be applied in terms of the plot and what was actually being represented). I found this game to be extremely polished and well executed as well as being glitch free. If you like this game, I would also recommend Dreampath: The Two Kingdoms, by the same developer. It was a lovely game as well. I hope you enjoy this game as much as I did, and I look forward to what the developer next has in store for us. :-) July 12, 2015
Refreshing Although there are monsters in this game at least it is getting closer to how HOs evolved on BFG. I could almost play this one with my grandchildren, almost. And as for the quality, the scenes are paint on canvas and delightfully presented. This is a light, bright, colorful game with a slightly annoying sidekick. Other than that, I would recommend this game to anyone over the age of 10. July 12, 2015
HOG GAME OF THE YEAR HERE !! Beautiful journeys into vivid, fantasy OIL PAINTINGS - brush strokes, thick paint, canvass, all visible for you to admire with lovely, varied music as your emotional guide. Colours are fantastic (just wait 'til you get to the swamp scene - have a look around, it's magical.) Plays beautifully. I am thoroughly enthralled with this game. I am definitely not a HOG fan. Enjoy the scenery. Definitely recommended. July 11, 2015
This art my kind of game This is a definite "I love it! " game. I am an artist who enjoys painting in the scenes. The ideas and the beautiful visuals are creative, varied and fun. It is playful and kept my interest throughout. A total delight for me and a definite buy. July 11, 2015
Fantastic Wow... just finished the game (very long, by the way). Never wanted it to end. One of the best games I've played in a while. Liked the painting aspect, all the games and enjoyed the different hidden object scenes. July 12, 2015
