Perfect game....for me I don't want a story. I don't want pretty colors. I don't need the pattern to mean anything. I don't want ANY of the squares filled in automatically. I want simplicity. I want a good challenge. I want the chance to use my brain. I want my three gold stars on every puzzle (yes, it's possible). This game is perfect for me. August 22, 2015
OFF TO ?FAIRYTALE LAND? TO CREATE PICTURES WITH NONOGRAMS Yeah! I am very happy to get another one of these games. This variation of Sudoku goes by many names. On this site they are called ?griddlers? or ?nonograms .? This is a decent game, but not as good as those from another developer on this site. They are grids which are filled in according to the intersection of numbered spaces which are given along the horizontal and vertical sides of a grid. Here are the positive and negative aspects of this game. Positives: 1. Receive hints 2. Receive the time you take in solving the griddlers 3. Penalties for mistakes and if you misclick too many times and you must start over. 4. Receive coins for correctness and these can be used to purchase hints, rights for mistakes, and refill hints 5. Choose between two levels of difficulty - Adventure and Training 6. Grids range from 5 x 5 to 25 x 25 if it is like previous games. 7. 20 levels of play with many games in each level (I am not certain of the exact amount). Negatives: 1. No autofill. You must place X?s into the unused spaces 2. Restart if you leave the game before completing a level (which is very annoying) 3. One dimensional, one color grids. No multi-color, multi-screen screens If you like these games, they are also called ?Pic-a-Pix? by ?Conceptis Puzzles,? ?Paint-by-Number? by ?Games? magazine, and O?Ekaki by the Japanese. I used to play these by hand, counting spaces in larger grid and then filling in with a pencil, so any time I can play them on a computer, it is a treat. August 18, 2015
Good Challenge I disagree with the bad rating. If you want a good challenge-instead of just mindlessly filling in squares-then this game is for you. I was getting bored with the pretty picture puzzles because they required very little thought. August 23, 2015
SEEN ONE, SEEN THEM ALL There is nothing about this griddler game to make it stand out from any other game of this type. There are 6 worlds, each of which contain 20 puzzles. Each puzzle must be played in order, as completing the previous puzzle unlocks the next. This is a straight griddler game with no extras. The puzzles start out fairly easy and progress to harder grids. The biggest and most common grid is 20x15. A couple of hints are available at the beginning of each grid, with game play adding more. Each completed grid earns coins that can be used to purchase additional hints during the game. No mistakes are allowed in order to obtain all 3 keys for the location. Two mistakes stops play and the grid must be started over. Skipping a grid is not an option, as completing one grid is necessary before the next grid unlocks for play. I think zero mistakes is an unrealistic standard, but only for us perfectionists. This game takes a long time to play, particularly if grids have to be replayed. I returned to this game whenever I had only a short time to play or when I needed a break from more intensive games. October 17, 2015
Oh Look, I Made A.......Shape Of Some Sort?!? I guess we griddler fans have just been spoiled by Fantasy Mosaics, with the bright colorful tiles, 3 different colors used on every puzzle, and most of all, each griddler puzzle creates a fantastic picture such as flowers, lions and even people! This puzzle however is just okay, with only a single color (blue) and the picture you create isn't even a picture, it's just a shape, if it is a picture of something I certainly don't see it. When the shape is complete, they don't even remove all the x's to show you what shape you've just mastered! This Griddler or Mosaic puzzle works the usual way, left click to fill in squares, right click to cross out a square and make it with an X. There are numbers on each column and row, each group of numbers are separated by at least one empty or crossed off square. Sometimes it's easier to figure out where a filled in square cannot be rather than where it can, which will narrow down the options and make it easier to figure out. Most Griddler puzzles give you the option to cross off rows and columns automatically when filled, but I didn't find this option or any other options for that matter. There is a tutorial available in Beginner or Expert modes, or you can skip both and go right into the adventure mode which has 6 worlds and 20 levels within each world. The goal is to earn 3 Keys per level, a key or star is deducted for each mistake that is made, but any level can be repeated to better your score if you do make a mistake. Every filled square earns you coins, and some of the filled squares contain bonuses. The coins can be used in the shop to purchase the right to make 3 mistakes, 2 starting hints, and the option to refill all of the hints on the current level. You must earn enough stars or keys to unlock the next World's levels, or you can use your coins to unlock them. There are 15 Trophies to earn as well. There were too many things I didn't like in this game, my two biggest gripes is the fact that the pictures created are nothing more than random shapes (I could be wrong, but if they are pictures they should have labeled them) Some of the puzzles as you progress, leave you no choice but to use a hint at the start because there's no way of figuring out logically where any filled or crossed off tile should go (without guessing of course) These are logical based puzzles and they should be solvable without having to use a hint in my opinion. Do yourself a favor and try the demo first, even better, try the demo of Fantasy Mosaics for some real fun! August 18, 2015
THERE IS NO MAGIC IN THIS GAME Unfortunately there is just no magic in this lackluster griddler that can in no way compare to those beautiful fantasy boards and graphics that we are often fortunate to get here at BFG. Although the screen graphics are lovely the game falls short in other aspects. At least on my laptop the game had bars, even though they were patterned, on either side of the screen. The game has very few options so I couldn?t select a widescreen setting if I wanted. The music is annoying and repetitive to say the least so I finally had to turn off the sound. Another option that is sorely missed in this game is that the unused squares do not autofill once the active squares are filled in. I also dislike is the very small game boards with equally tiny squares. Sorry but as much as I love the pictograph types of games this is one is a pass for me. These griddlers just fall short in so many ways that I find them tedious and not fun at all. August 18, 2015
Not for right brainers I love griddling. But Not when you can't use logic to figure out the solution. Don't want to use a clue either! I will figure it out no matter how long it takes. Some of these left you no choice but to guess or use a clue. A definate turn off for us griddle sleuths. For that reason alone I cannot recommend this game. Not much color or shape and not much of a fun storyline either. Sorry. didn't even finish the demo for pete's sake. That is sorry. August 19, 2015
NOT for a MAC I LOVE these games and LOVED the first version but they have changed the mode of play! I ALMOST bought it but am glad I didn't as the mouse for MAC's/Apple products aren't reliable when using right click/left click option. Sorry, this is a BIG NO for me! August 18, 2015
not a true logic puzzle too much guessing...thank goodness for 1hr trial...became apparent once the bigger puzzles were reached. April 30, 2016
Way to simple A puzzle book would be better. The solutions as less than inspiring. August 19, 2015
