How are they going to top this one? Wow Wow Wow!! With all of the reviews for this game I don't have any stunning insights that have been missed by others. I can only speak to my reaction to this game. We have had some great games lately and I truly think the better devs are stepping it up big time. We had sort of plateaued in this genre until recently when we were lucky enough to get some innovative games from Epix, now here we have Mad Head stepping it up big time. Bringing us one of the most innovative and immersive games on the market. It sucked me in right from the beginning but I think it is interesting that both of these devs have started upping the game value with fun things to do post game with fun extras like puzzles and fabulous bonus chapters. All tied into the original game, the extras extend the game play and add to the depth of the story. I loved the jigsaw puzzle and the character notes with this game. For the folks who did not like this game...perhaps another genre would be better for them. This game could not have been better.. well conceived story with outstanding execution. What more could we ask for..really? August 3, 2015
Welcome To The Maze Subject 360 THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A GAME LIKE THIS BEFORE! I was fortunate enough to beta test this game a while back, playing this game just left me hungry for more. The further you get into this unique game, the more you want, more information, who is this creepy little girl who taunts your every move? More background, what happened to this child that makes her want to psychologically torture her subjects? 360, have there been that many subjects? What's up with the Motel receptionist, is he subject 000? But most of all, will I get out of this dingy maze alive? Everything about this game is AWESOME! You will feel your heart beating, you will feel a sense of urgency, You will feel trapped and desperate! It's sick, it's demented, it's gross, it's creepy, it's nerve wracking, and I love it! This maze is booby trapped, so you're going to have to choose your moves wisely. Do you want to open the door cautiously, or push the door quickly and hope for the best? I had to test this theory, the game warns that my decisions could be life altering, so I chose the opposite of what I chose in the beta, wondering if I would lose my life and find myself back in the trapped room where I began. That would have been pretty cool, but nope, I just get told I'm not very bright by my captor. She's tracking you! Yep, she's carefully hidden tokens that open locked doors in some of the weirdest places, and these token keep track of you and your progress, whew, I'm still panicked from nearly drowning! Don't get too caught up in the whole saving your life thing and miss the 44 Hidden Collectible symbols, this is the first time I've ever forgotten to look for a collectible, honestly who needs em, I wanna live! The Hidden Object Puzzles are a bit scarce, again who needs 'em in this psychological thriller, but none the less, you gotta do them to get your inventory items right. They are varied but mostly list finds, although I enjoyed the HOP within a painting where the little girl tells you a story and you find item she is telling you about one sentence at a time. Each HOP has a Morphing Object as well. There are a ton of mini games, some of which have a sense of urgency because you're trying to stay alive! There are a lot of clues to find in this game in order to solve some of the games, so don't overlook anything. There are valves to turn until the needles are all in the green zone, tiles to shift around with only one empty space, figurines to swap until all the lights turn green and even tiles to rotate to close all pipe circuits. This Collector's Edition has 15 Achievements, 44 Collectible Symbols, 19 replayable HOP's with gold, silver and bronze trophies to earn, a Jigsaw Puzzle Character Gallery, Morphing Objects, 16 Wallpapers, Soundtracks, the Making of Video, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter August 1, 2015
OUT OF A DREAM AND INTO YOUR LIFE ? A GAME TO ?A-MAZE? YOU AND MAY CAUSE YOU TO ?SCREAM? WITH DELIGHT AN ADULT HORROR GAME! REVIEW BASED ON THE FIRST 2 CHAPTERS OUT OF 4 CHAPTERS PLUS A BONUS CHAPTER Where am I? You have just checked into Peaceful Hill Hotel; however, like the old song ?Hotel California,? - ?you can check-out any time you like, but you can never leave!? This is a well-crafted creep fest. It is puzzle-heavy (with some multi-step puzzles) and HOP lite. The graphics are dark and the game reminded me of the movie ?Saw.? (And you will encounter a few of these as well) You will have to choose between two actions in this game ? not making the right choice can lead to dire circumstances. You will not want to ?fall asleep? in this game. The game will keep time of how long you played. You, as Subject 360, must match wits with a demonic ?angelic? looking child. If you give her what she wants you will receive sanctuary and she will fulfill your every wish. Actually you have no choice. You will either bow down to her or be purged and burned down. After the demo ? the theme changes slightly and encompasses the town. If you like horror films, you will LOVE this game! A ?fear factor? seeps throughout this game through the dark atmosphere, demonic child, dream sequences and creepy dolls. You might want to play this in the dark for the ultimate effect of creepiness. Some of us from a gaming forum have been anticipating the release of this game! IT IS SUCH A WELL CRAFTED FRIGHT FEST! It will definitely keep you on edge LEVELS: Test Subject, Escapee, Chosen, Free will Hints: 15 to 90 seconds. Skips: 15 to 90 seconds HOP SCENES: There are more puzzles than HOP scenes. They are interactive and somewhat puzzle-like. They include theme related lists, cryptic sentences, elimination (locate the same item until they are removed from the scene). After the demo, the HOP scenes included lists and matching objects within the scene PUZZLES: They vary in difficulty and very well-done. They include multi-step puzzles including variations of balance puzzles (move dials until the exact numbers can be situated on each dial), moving tile puzzles, timed puzzles, pipe puzzle, maze puzzle. After the demo they included a lock pick puzzle, matching puzzle, and a storybook replacement puzzle INVENTORY: Puzzle-like and interactive GRAPHICS: Dark and creepy. The scene is a dilapidated building which oozes decay and terror. I LOVED the revised verse for ?Jingle Bells? I need to remember these lyrics for this Yuletide season! Such a creepy ?nightmare? of a town LOL EXTRAS GOODIES: Map - Get a hand drawn map has you play the game. Later you receive another map to use You receive your time in playing the game Strategy guide ? 34 pages plus 11 pages for the Bonus Chapter 15 Achievements Collect 44 Swirling symbols 19 morphing objects in HOP scenes Dreamcatcher to catch all the horrible dreams in this game Creepy dolls abound. HERE ARE THE DETAILS (AKA SPOILERS) FOR THOSE WHO WISH MORE INFORMATION ON THE HOP SCENES AND PUZZLES: HOP SCENES: A. Theme related list. Locate items to uncover ribbon to put on a present you put into your inventory B. Sentences used with items to be located in BOLD letters to receive a final inventory items C. Find the same item until they are all gone from the HOP scene D. Theme related list. Locate items resulting in final inventory item AFTER THE DEMO: E. List of items to locate within literally a ?junk pile? ? so amusing devs! F. Matching with theme related items which go together PUZZLES. Creative. At times you will need to choose between two actions ? be correct or face the consequences! A. Multi-step puzzle. First - You must locate three items with a room and interact with them to receive three numbers which, in the correct sequence, opens up a door. As you locate them you interact with them to cause their image on a door of a safe to light up. First item- images are used on a phone Second - Move dials to a green area on pressure valves- moving one affects the others Third ? remove vents on two fans AWESOME B. Variation of a moving tiles puzzle - move tiles to release inventory item C. Variation of a switch puzzle. Switch items until they glow green D. Time puzzled - try to survive with a series of puzzles ? Multi-step puzzle including a variation of a pipe puzzle in which you must close a circuit in time or you will die! E. Maze puzzle to get out of the "maze." You play it in the dark AFTER THE DEMO: F. Lock pick puzzle. Move tumblers in a lock in a certain sequence G. Storybook in which you must replace items into scenes into the correct location H. Variation of a matching puzzle ? match wires on a car Thanks dev for another use for duct tape to add to my list ? sealing holes in a gas can LOL August 1, 2015
IN YOUR DREAMS SUBJECT 360 - DON'T FALL ASLEEP REVIEW OF COMPLETED GAME, BONUS and EXTRAS Wow, its been a long time since I played anything like this. In the main game you play Christine Mack (Subject 360) and in the Bonus game you play Howard. There is: * Voiceovers; * Test Subject, Escapee, Chosen or Free Will (Custom) modes; * Interactive map; * 15 Achievements (3 in each achievement); * Find 44 swirls; * Extras like a jigsaw puzzle, extra HOS game, etc. The graphics are sort of dark and grainy, but with plenty of colour - which suited the game well. Everywhere was clear to see. Sound was very good - ranging from the squeaky voice of the little girl to her natural state which was deep and very creepy. Music was excellent, ranging from orchestral to chanting and even some guitar. The hidden object games were predominantly straightforward. There is also one morphing object per HOS which had a very good challenge to it because they morphed very slowly. I must admit I did stare at the screen for some time before I found some of them. The mini-games were great and even a couple I hadn't played before. Some of these had a good challenge but definitely nothing too mind numbing. You can find the 44 swirls as you play the game and bonus which are not hidden - you just collect them along the way. However, if you don't feel like looking for them while you are playing, then you can do this after you have finished. When you have found them all, you can play a hidden object game. I found I didn't need to use the interactive map at all throughout the game because you only have to go a couple of steps backwards or forwards, so there was no need for it. All up the game, bonus and extras took me about 7 hours playing on Chosen mode. The Achievements were harder to get than I thought, so next time I play I'll try and do better. You can replay the hidden object games to get a better score percentage - which I'm definitely going to do. So overall a fabulous creepy game which made me jump a few times. Yes, I started this game late Saturday night with the light off - NEVER AGAIN! Definitely recommend that you play this game now - DON'T FALL ASLEEP!!!! August 3, 2015
WOW Even though I am of the over 60 generation I found this to be one of the best games ever to be released. So much thought went into the design, HOPS and puzzles, and yes, there were several times I actually jumped out of the chair. I am not a fan of scary, bloody movies but this did not creep me out. Just thought it was a lot of fun and couldn't stop playing it. The bar has been set very high by the devs. August 2, 2015
Best Game Ive ever play on BFG First of all, I have been a member for over 7 years and am an avid CE collector. This was, with the exception of Ravenhurst, the best game I've ever played on here. First of all, it was terrifying and riveting. The HOPs were a little simplistic but it made up for it with the morphing objects. You will not be disappointed!!! August 3, 2015
Best CE in a very long time.... I love all games that are creepy, and this didn't disappoint! Right from the start it made me jump, and its a game that I could replay as it was so much fun! Had the four modes of play we've come to expect (including custom). The HOPs were interesting (had morphing items but I didn't find many)! The puzzles were very different being part of the scene you were in. The graphics were excellent, the music creepy, the characters were beautifully drawn and I just didn't want the game to end. Would love more games of this calibre that don't have you looking for amulets, or making potions. It was as though you were playing a horror movie, rather than just watching one. And it really had you thinking too, so good level of challenge! August 4, 2015
Dare you tackle the maze! These is an excellent psychological game, but take heed of the download page warning, as it is for mature audiences. The games is very ?halloweenesque? but for me is deeper. Overall very brief scenario (don?t want to spoil it), We have 1) Tired Hero 2) Handily placed motel 3) Psycho child 4) Mind games All making for an excellent game that will ?mess with your mind?. The atmosphere is in-keeping with the game, the sound and VO are of a high standard. There are actions that are questions that are asked that will determine the game. This review is based only on the demo version of the game, but I am sure that this will continue throughout the whole of the game. One thing with regards to the questions that needed to be answered, is that the first couple didn?t really matter, I picked the ?wrong? answer just to see what would happen but it just allowed me to ?have another go? fair play as I can?t see what else could have happened but it would have been interesting to see if the game developers could have explored this avenue a bit. This is probably explored a bit more through the game. The game is defiantly a ?keeper? and one that I have already purchased, I can?t recommend the game highly enough, it is defiantly one that has re-playable value, as different choices can be made that affect the outcome then so the game can be re-played, most HO games are just a ?once through? for me. The demo ends in a reminiscent of a Robin Cook ?coma? scene. As to the ratings above the 'fun factor' should in this game read 'fear factor'! This has all the elements of a definite BF award winning game and an accolade well worth it. August 2, 2015
worth 10 stars! love the gotcha unexpected scares! I really enjoyed the scare factor in the game. There were a few gotcha moments when I wasn't expecting the scare factor. The demon who comes in disguise of a bratty girl, her voice is something that will not be soon forgotten. I enjoyed the various games within the game. The hidden object screens that are my favorite, were in finding objects within a storyline. August 3, 2015
WORTH THE MONEY! I AM REALLY PUZZLED AS TO WHY THIS GAME HAS FALLEN SO QUICKLY DOWN THE CHART. I ALSO DO NOT KNOW HOW ANYONE CAN GIVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW AND ONLY PLAY THE DEMO. THE GAME TOOK ME 4.5 HOURS TO FINISH AND I COULD NOT SIT AND PLAY THE 4 HOURS STRAIGHT. I THOUGHT THE GRAPHICS WERE A TAD GRAY, BUT THAT DID ADD TO THE OVERALL CREEPY FEEL. THE "LITTLE SHIRLEY TEMPLE" LOOKING DEMONIC GIRL MADE ME FEEL ON EDGE. I THOUGHT IT WAS A GREAT GAME, WELL WORTH THE MONEY. I GIVE 5 STARS AFTER BUYING AND PLAYING THE ENTIRE GAME. August 4, 2015
