12 Labours of Hercules IV: Mother Nature Collector's Edition 4.2 5 36 36
Love Hercules, But I Have Reservations About The Value Of The Collector's Edition 12 Labours of Hercules is a fantastic Time Management Game, but I'm going to wait for the Standard Edition because from what I can see, the Collector's Edition only has Wallpapers and Achievements to offer and possibly the addition of Collectible Puzzle Pieces that allows you to piece together a mosaic picture every 10 levels or so. This episode begins with a roundtable meeting of the gods who decide that Hercules must be dealt with. The gods are jealous of Hercules, a demigod adored and admired by his people, and when nobody was looking, someone poisoned Hercules! After an entire year of bedridden illness, Hercules is better than ever and has a lot of work to catch up on because the once fertile lands have withered and turned into a wasteland. Megara joins her husband on this adventure, restoring withered trees and growing fruit for workers to eat. There are three different modes of difficulty, Relaxed, Casual and expert, and every level that is completed within Gold Time (3 stars) will reveal a part of the ancient castle which I believe is supposed to be Mt. Olympus, but I could be wrong on that one. Each level has a puzzle piece to find which looks like an ancient rune tile, I look for the puzzle piece before clicking on anything which starts the game, that way I don't forget about the puzzle piece or waste time searching for it. You can replay any of the levels to try to get a better score or if you forgot the puzzle piece. There are several Achievements to earn for tasks such as collecting a resource after completing the level tasks, completing the level without using bonuses or finding 10 puzzle pieces. There are the usual tasks of building and upgrading farms, sawmills, goldmines and even storage facilities, clearing and repairing paths, and collecting food. Each task requires a certain amount of resources to complete and when you scan over a task, the requirements needed are shown as well as the resources you are lacking to complete. You can click on several tasks to have the workers complete, a checkmark will appear on the item for every available worker, and flags will queue the rest in numerical order until a worker is free. In Relaxed and Casual modes, the tasks available are circled in green, yellow indicates you will be able to complete the task once the resources collected are delivered to the base camp, red indicates the item is either blocked or you don't have enough available resources. Megara is summoned to grow fruit trees and heal trees which transforms a section to a lush oasis. Then of course there's Hercules with all his strength, who is tasked with only one job, clear paths of boulders no mere man can budge! As you progress, you will receive bonuses that can be used each time the meter fills to make the workers Faster and even collect more resources. Generally, you want to use these bonuses often in order to complete the tasks within Gold Time, especially as you progress and the levels become more complicated. Occasionally you will get a chance to earn bonus points by reading plaques that give you optional tasks such as finding two Ancient Vases. This Collector's Edition has 9 Wallpapers, Achievements to earn, Collectible Puzzle Pieces, Puzzles to complete once all the pieces have been collected, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus story and level, so get your TM game on Hercules style, enjoy! The fun continues This is an excellent TM series that everyone will enjoy. - Fun Storyline - Three modes of play. - Option to switch modes before a level is a nice touch. - Lots of levels that are challenging. - Strategic gameplay. - Achievements. - Replay value with beating Dev's scores. - Added hidden object aspect. CE's for TM games are rarely worth it, but with today's CE special, I highly recommend you pick this up. Try this game. I guarantee you'll love it! August 22, 2015
EXCELLENT GAME, BUT......"COLLECTORS EDITION"??. Like all the Hercules games, this one is great fun, but it's not all that different to the previous ones (my favourite being the second game). However, I question why this is a "collectors edition" game with its subsequent high price. Too bad if you rely on the "strategy guide" to help you - all it does is show you what the story line already told you! I bought the game, but am not happy about the price. August 24, 2015
Just as fun as the other Hercules games This is as fun as the others in this series. The music is nice, graphics are very good and the story line is interesting. There are 3 levels of play so you can choose your challenge or just relax. Very smooth operation, characters respond quickly and you can sequence moves which I like. No big changes from the last game in the series but very very enjoyable to play. August 22, 2015
And the story/game continues to excel!!!!! Based on the Beta and CE demos. Let me get this out of the way first and foremost....... I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE love this game!!!!! Okay .... just once more ................. TOTALLY LOVE!!! The gods are angry with Hercules and wanted to seek revenge, but there was a celebration for him first. Go figure. Hercules drank Beer and drank Beer ..... and drank Beer some more ..... during his party and, soon enough, a potion was poured into his cup without his knowledge. A year later, Hercules is so sick he can't get out of bed. The gods are now VERY happy. But, Hercules rises to the occasion and off he goes to rebuild the kingdom which became a desert wasteland during his illness . I have NEVER seen such amazing graphics in a "build it" type game. AMAZING! The music was a bit ....... well ........ sometimes it sounded like "countdown" clock music which bothered me since I was playing an untimed clock mode. The voice overs were the best yet in this game series. 3 difficulty modes: Relaxed (untimed - YAY happy dance2 ), Casual and Expert. The gist of the game is the same as previously in this series. Gather wood, food, gold and more resources. Put out fires - yes, REAL fires. Well, not like your computer is on fire .... you get it! Watch \for the hydrant (which will put out said fires) - rescue people (yay) - fix the pointer (sign) (so when you leave you go the right way) and leave that area to go to the next challenge. In the casual and expert modes, you can earn up to 3 gold stars , depending how well you do in each level. In all the modes, you have "bonuses" in the form of an extra man and extra resources. I was so enthralled with the beta I wanted to stop playing and purchase it immediately! Alas, I had to remind myself that it was only a beta!. But, the gods have smiled upon me this day and RELEASED IT! Finally! Now, THAT'S what I call a darn good demo! I was confused at times with the storyline so it may not do well as a standalone game. It appears you may need to have purchased/played previous games to understand where this one starts. Otherwise, I was hooked! In fact, I've replayed the beta several times ...... a week ..... waiting impatiently for its release (we all know I have no patience). Join me in rebuilding a deserted wasteland with Hercules and, always ....................... ENJOY! Overall Impression: DO NOT let this gem get away! August 22, 2015
WOW! WOW is the word! i have all the Hercules games and honestly this, by far, is the best! i am so happy to finally got a game, time management, and love it so! highly recommend this game! August 22, 2015
If you like TM's This is a must. I have all its predecessors, and think the designer's hit the mark with this sequel. It has 3 options of difficulty. There are new "secret" challenges in some of the levels. The hidden puzzle pieces are back. The story is worth watching each stage's intro. I have not quite figured out what about this version makes it a Collector's Edition other than the wallpapers, but I have not finished the game. If you are a Time Management fan, this and the rest of the series are well worth the credits. August 23, 2015
