Ted used to be a simple farmer. But he just couldn't see himself being a farmer his whole life. He wanted more. So Ted decided to leave for the big city and finish school there.

Once he was done with his education, he decided it's finally time to find a job somewhere. And he found one in a small town called Sunset Hills. He got a job as an assistant in the mayor's office. This is how Ted and Catherine met! Even though he tried to hide it, he was smitten the first time he laid eyes on her.

Unfortunately for Ted, the mayor himself was Catherine's fiancé. And the mayor... well, the mayor had some very ambitious plans for Sunset Hills. Or better said, some very ambitious plans for himself...

So Much To Do So Little Time I love the wild west theme this Time Management game has to offer, and the fact that you aren't spending most of your time doing trivial tasks. You can play this game in Relaxed, Normal or Expert modes, however, unless you opt for Expert mode you cannot earn all 9 Achievements. Each level has a hidden Treasure Chest, which will give you 1000 extra coins. At the beginning of each level you are given several tasks to complete such as collecting a specific amount of tax revenue and building a specific number of houses. There are very few trivial tasks, just a few boulders or wood to clear from paths or livestock that may be blocking some paths, but there are more interesting tasks to do than in most TM games. Even the workers can be promoted, which is helpful if you need to replay a level because it's easier to achieve the time limit goals as you progress. The goal is to figure out what needs to be built on the lots available, and when to build them. Houses must be built to accommodate the workers, which also generate tax revenue which is needed to build anything, Farms need to be built to feed the workers and keep up morale, Saw Mills need to be built to supply wood to build all of the buildings, so you need to figure out what gets built and when in order to have enough money, wood or food to progress. If you don't have enough food, the workers happiness declines and production suffers. You get an unlimited amount of workers, and there are different types of workers from tax collectors to manual labor workers. When a worker reaches 100% you can promote him, and all of the buildings, houses, sawmills, markets, blacksmiths etc, can be upgraded to either generate more taxes or more productions. I really liked the fact that I didn't have to spend the majority of my time picking up sticks, repairing roads and collecting food down a predetermined pathway, I actually had to think about each move I made with this game. The graphics are cartoon drawings, but they are decent, and you get to read a few inspirational messages along the way, enjoy! September 29, 2015
WHAT A SURPRISE - I LOVE THIS GAME! Country Tales is an amazing TM/Building type of game with a terrific storyline that captured me from the beginning. I had to force myself to stop playing so that I could write this review. Now, I can?t wait to get back and help Ted make a success of his life and win his sweetheart. The graphics are terrific with wonderfully drawn characters. The graphics are also crisp and very colorful. Generally I don?t care for the music in these types of games but I found the music in Country Tales rather enjoyable. Country Tales is from a game developer who generally brings us very good HOPA type games so I am not surprised that Country Tales is such a wonderful game in a different genre. One of the things I appreciate about this game is the relaxed mode of gameplay. Sure, I know that I will never earn all the achievements but my days of rushing to beat the clock are over. Still, as I become more engrossed in the TM games, who knows that might eventually change because I do love a good challenge. If you are looking for a great change of pace from HOPA type games, then I highly recommend Country Tales as being an excellent and entertaining way to dip your toes into a new experience. What a fun and entertaining game! Even though I love the game and know it is a buy for me, I suggest that you try the demo to see if this is a game you will enjoy. September 29, 2015
Progress is the Future Comparable to Pioneer Lands and Royal Envoy. Very nicely done graphics, sound, and story. Levels get progressively harder but not too difficult. The tutorial was clear on what to do and the controls are easy just point and click. Nice addition to the list of other time management games. September 29, 2015
Time management with a twist! This game has it all! A love story, jealousy, conflict, heroes, and of course, the villain! Build the towns, arrest the low-down dirty varmints, and rescue the damsel! I was hooked from the first, and I am sure you will be too! The story line reminds me of the old "tie the pretty girl to the train track" and the villain with the mustache twirls. Hours of fun! Makes You Happy Game!!! I'm not sure why but this game just makes me happy. It's a fun TM game. So far, the music has not been annoying--just a charming little background tune. I will say the extreme level is very challenging. Time moves really fast. There is no room for errors. If you make any, you will not win the medal for that level. I've only played through five levels and had to replay two of them several times to win medal. This game is definitely worth a buy! September 29, 2015
Great Game Gets harder of course as you play on..the story is absolutely delightful as are the characters. I like it when I have to strategize or replay to win gold. I even think going into the forum to get help is great fun. Try this game You will love it all you TM fans as good ones are few and far between. I play normal mode first then go for the most difficult next go around. Have fun everyone. September 30, 2015
Very good game Building and time management are my favorite types of games. That said, not all are good. This one is in my opinion, very good. I enjoy the storyline and the fact that I can play in relaxed mode. I do get tired of time management games being nothing but collecting items or just cooking. This one has a good pace, good characters, great visual and overall good things you need to do. Please make more like this. I purchased before time was even up. :) September 29, 2015
I just love it I have been waiting for another great TM game to come along and here it is, I just love everything about it, It is one of those games that you can play over and over again and not lose interest. September 29, 2015
A lot of fun! 40 levels of fun and, as an added bonus, a story line. There are multiple difficulty levels, including relaxed (untimed), which is something I like. The overall TM is like the build egypt game, with unlimited workers; however, this one is more to my liking being set in the wild west. As always, try the game out before you buy to make sure it suits your style. TTFN September 29, 2015
More of this theme and characters please, and SOON! Us TM fans have been starved of any decent games for far too long. This one not only has all the necessary elements, but is actually fun to play and replay and replay. The graphics are beautiful, the characters delightfully drawn, a good storyline and clear instructions. I spent ages enjoying relaxed mode, trying to make my million dollars - and succeeded - and now I feel ready to try it all again in a more challenging mode. I even feel sure I will enjoy Expert mode - but probably won't master it. No problem. It is such a wonderful game that it's just fun to play. Can't wait for many sequels of the same standard.
