Ominous Objects: Trail of Time Collector's Edition 3.5 5 30 30
THE HANDS OF TIME ARE BEING FROZEN IN THIS FUN FANTASY GAME Well detective, grab your purrball, Mr. Jenkins and head off to investigate another Ominous Object. This time you have been called by Heinrich the Clockmaker to a town called Glockenverk (really ? LOL). When you arrive you meet Kate ? after she steals your watch ? and that is when you skate head on into your investigation. It looks like Heinrich has run out of sand in the big clock and very odd things are happening in town. People and animals are turning to ice and even some prehistoric beasts are arriving to complete the mystery. Can you help Kate set things right and get the clock ticking again in Glockenverk? I am not sure where to begin but firstly, the color palette turned me rather blue. I am so tired of the pink, purple, and blue tones used in these types of games but if I can get over the queasiness created by the color palette at least the graphics are sharp and crystal clear. The voiceovers are not bad but then again, they are not excellent. Your tools include an interactive map AND Mr. Jenkins. Not only do we have an animal helper but now we have to feed him fish to get him to perform his fetch and carry duties. Sorry devs, but this was almost too much for my early morning tummy to handle. I had high hopes that the days of animal helpers might be over but some devs just don?t seem to want to relinquish their purrballs easily. Not only do we have Mr. Jenkins to help us out, we also have a watch that must be charged before use by playing a mini-puzzle even though it is one that I happen to like. The HOPS are excellent and make up for the disastrous color palette. Even though we might visit the HOPS more than once (something that doesn?t bother me) they are different each time. If for some reason you find the HOPS difficult, you can play an alternate match-3 game. The puzzles are usual and not too difficult. That being said, I play almost every HOPA game released and my experience has been that the puzzles are generally more challenging as a game progresses so I am not too concerned when they appear easy in the beginning. There are collectible snowflakes and achievements to be earned but the remaining CE content is not remarkable. The extras include something called Game Dots but since I can?t see what that is until I complete the bonus game, I have no idea what it might be. We do have all the other standard extras including the Bonus Chapter and the Strategy Guide. Because I don?t care for having to feed Mr. Jenkins fish or the color palette, one would think I didn?t like the game but that is not true. I actually enjoy the game and the gameplay so with a small deduction for the graphics, the game is a low 5-star game. Even with all the blue and purple, I am ready for something a bit more colorful than crumbling bricks and dreary graphics. I am a big fan of fantasy games so Ominous Objects Trial of Time will be a great game to play on a dreary, cold and rainy day. Even though I like the game, please try the demo to see if Trial of Time is a game you will enjoy. December 19, 2015
Awesome winter game I really was captivated by this game. The art work is lovely, the story line very nice, and it is a great combination of adventure and HOA. The HOAs were interactive in a unique way, and I hope they do that through the entire game. I really enjoyed the puzzles and mini games through out. Mainly because they were solvable with out being too easy, and required a bit of thought. I like the cat helper and that you have to feed him first before he finds stuff. I like the match three option on the HOAs but did not want to use it. Very clear objective and map too. This is a charming game and relaxing to play. I just spent an hour playing the demo, will take a nap and buy this one. Super funl December 20, 2015
Help Leia save the day with Mr. Jenkins, and a magical timepiece! Even a watch can rebel against its creators, and in Ominous Objects 3: Trail of Time Collector?s Edition Game your heroine Leia is going to face such rebellion! She received a message from Glockenverk, a small town high in the mountains in year 1827. A pocket watch was included into the package. In the letter there was an urgent pledge to come and get rid of the new ominous object. Leia took Mr. Jenkins (her cat) with her and rushed to Glockenverk? to see snow and ice that appeared in the middle of summer! Moreover, strange beasts of ice are lurking in the shadows, terrorizing locals? But Leia?s pocket watch can undo everything... and it will push her to the brink in order to destroy the OMINOUS WATCH in the tower of local watchmaker Heinrich Clocksmith in this extraordinary and original Puzzle Adventure Hidden Object! A new feature of the series is that they have added an energy bar to Mr. Jenkins. So, he may not be able to help us when we need him to, but only after we feed him some fish! The game's story line is nothing new but still interesting. Apparently a scientist's plans have gone awry, and the weather has become unseasonably cold and icy. Nothing original here, as even the people being turned to ice statues has been done before. Leia's timepiece is discovered to be the only thing that can save the town. To battle ice creatures we insert tokens representing the creatures and connect the token to an image of the beast by means of a simple puzzle. The beasts are now tame, and we can continue on our way. The HOS were interactive lists. Nicely done, but fairly easy. You can play a match-3, that isn't a match-3, instead. You match groups of tiles, and the goal is to save... guess it... cats! Drop all the Mr. Jenkins off the bottom of the board to win. Someone heard how popular this cat is and decided to make him a major player in this game which I love! Ominous Objects 3: Trail of Time is one of the most intimate PC/Mac games of the Hidden Object, Puzzle type and you will never regret time spent playing it. December 20, 2015
Mr. Jenkins is on the prowl and he's always hungry, meow! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you guys. :) Well, here comes my most favorite team and my fave cat Mr. Jenkins, meow! (Off course my other is my cat Casper, and if he could read and I didn't say this, I'd be going in a body bag). Anyhoo, I was so waiting for this game to come out when I beta'd it. This is by far my most fave series. The story is always superb, the VO's are fantastic, and in this one Mr. Jenkins wants payment for his work. You have to feed Mr. Jenkins fish before he does a task. And those big sad kitty eyes when he's hungry always got to me. I just wanted to hug him and get him his fish. But you do have to say he is a shrewd business cat and wants payment for his work. Special gadget is a watch that you have to do a mini game to get the animals back to normal. Story: Leia and Mr. Jenkins are traveling in a horse and buggy when suddenly a possessed bear frightened the horse and causes the buggy to wreck making poor Mr. Jenkins go flying. After you gather your wits about you, a girl comes and snags the watch to turn the bear back into a normal one, and then she runs off with your watch. You try to stop her but it's no use. It seems like every time you have to fix something that has to do with time, an blue icy comes out of the clocks and possesses the animals. Between you and Kate you're trying to figure how to put a stop to all this and get things back to normal. Very interesting story and I look forward to finding out what is going on. H0GS: So far I came matching pairs, things that have to do with time, and a list. These are really fun and I enjoy playing them. Mini games: Guess the wait, put matching symbols back together on a big cog, climb the wall by memorizing symbols, and put the correct keys on their silhouettes. Map: The indicators tell you what to do and it's a jump map. This game to me is infinite stars. Kudos to a job very very well done. I highly recommend this game. Sue December 19, 2015
A delightful game, contrary to its ominous title. I just played the demo and it took me 40 minutes to get through. The game is very beautifully done. The story-line is not really inventive, yet, I cant tell with the demo. It was fun, not hard, mind you, but I had it set on casual play. It was clean, no nudity, which really sicks me out that some devs insist on putting naked statues or mermaids in there (for who's enjoyment?). Anyway, the HOS are interactive and you have to put some thought into it. I like the animals and the characters, they are not annoying. December 19, 2015

Love it Great game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! December 20, 2015
The Graphics Are Fantastic! Ominous Objects are always great games with refreshing stories, however, this story isn't very fresh, but the graphics are some of the best I've seen in a long time. This story is about Heinrich Glockenverk, one of the finest watchmakers in the country. His latest clock invention was intended to bring his beloved son back to him, but as always, something went wrong and the entire town is freezing in it's tracks. To add to the confusion, animals are being zapped into vicious beasts right and left! Detective Leia has returned, as has the even more famous detective, Mr. Jenkins, and thankfully Leia has been equipped with a Watch that's able to reverse the frozen wicked beasts back to their original state. This game has plus sign inventory items to interact with, and some very unusual Achievements to earn. Throughout the game you can collect Glass Snowflakes that can be used to upgrade each of the 11 Collectible Animals you come across. The Hidden Object Puzzles are very entertaining, but I was disappointed with the fact that some scenes are repeated, which becomes very boring in my opinion. There are interactive list finds, silhouetted shape finds, and even scenes where you uncover pairs of items. You can also opt for a Match 3 game if you're not into HOP's. The Mini Games are well done, I've listed some brief descriptions below of some of the games you will encounter: 1) Cross the rope when the balls are in the center circle. 2) Place keys in the correct spots according to their silhouetted shapes. 3) Find the correct positions for each pin to open the lock, using up and down arrows. 4) Study the tokens, then make matches of items after the tokens flip over. 5) Place Roman Numerals on a clock correctly. 6) Using the clues given, place the weights on the correct scales. 7) Each time you use the Watch you must create a solid path for the animal to follow from beginning to end. This Collector's Edition has 4 levels of Game Dots, 11 Collectible and upgradable Animals, Collectible Glass Snowflakes, 4 Music Soundtracks, 8 Concept Art pictures, 8 Developer's Diary pages, 6 Wallpapers, 25 very unusual Achievements, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy! Not for seasoned players ... I thoroughly enjoyed this game (love Mr Jenkins although he is a greedy little cat!) but found it to be the easiest game I have ever tackled! Methinks would be a great game for anyone starting/venturing into this genre of game playing. There was no "tooing and froing" looking for items, all items needed were within a screen or two. Definitely no need for the map! Games were fun but .... for me ... no real challenges there, all easy to solve. If that is what you enjoy, then you will love the puzzle side of this game! I shan't elaborate on the storyline as others have done this ... just give you my perspective, level of challenge, enjoyment. It is a very nice game, nothing awe-inspiring, nothing hard to be done or items to find ... my problem was how quick it all ended! I cannot believe that in less than 4 x hours it was all over! And to add, the bonus content was even shorter and over way too soon!! In this instance, as we were offered a discount for the game, it was okay but not sure I would've been happy had I had to pay full price! To summarise ... a lovely game, way too easy for experienced game players, way, .... way ..... way too short including the bonus chapter but would be a beautiful game for those who are thinking of or wanting to venture into the world of puzzle/adventure CE games. I sort of recommend this .... December 23, 2015
