Lost Amulets: Mystic Land 4.9 5 11 11
Impressive Mahjong Game I fell in love with Lost Amulets: Stone Garden, and Mystic Land does not disappoint! They have added a Hidden Object feature to this edition, with listed items, silhouetted shapes and multiple finds, and they are actually creative and quite challenging. The main game consists of Mahjong requiring you to find all available tiles that match any of the four tiles shown at the bottom, and you should choose tiles that have several free tiles to get double and even triple points. When the Lucky Kitty tile shows up at the bottom, you can choose which tile to match with out of any free tile. Extra points are earned if you find all letter tiles and spell the bonus word at the top of the screen such as TREE or RAINFOREST. Uncovering Jade Pearls will allow you to purchase bonuses: Hints, Shuffles, and mega bonuses that remove 10-15 free tiles, each of these features cost various amounts of Jade Pearls which are found not only in the Mahjong game but in the HOG's and Wheel of Fortune games. After each Mahjong game you can spin the Wheel of Fortune wheel to play a mini game to earn Jade Pearls, but you can skip this section. There are several games available on the wheel, a Memory game, a Tiling game and my favorite, Bingo where you click mahjong tiles on a Bingo board that match the color coded and numbered balls that are moving from the top right until they disappear on the bottom left, matching numbers on the board will shorten the line, once they all disappear, game over. I strongly recommend both of the Lost Amulet games, enjoy! March 2, 2016
I actually bought this--a straight HO game and a mahjong game! And I usually don't like either game type! This game is odd, yet addicting. I am not a pure HO fan. I don't like mahjong. But even though these are the two main components of this game, I still bought. OK, OK, so I used a free coupon, but I'm STILL playing it. The story is not much. You are on a quest to find ancient Chinese amulets. But the gameplay seems to have nothing to do with looking for them. There are 5 amulets, and I am still looking for the first. The instructions are good and you can review them over. There's a relaxed mode. Don't forget to set it if you play these games to relax. You earn hints and other bonus actions by finding pearls. The gameplay is in three repeating parts: First, it gives you a HO scene with objects viewed from above. Some are words, some are "find several of the same thing," and some are outlines. Beware, there's a BAD click penalty. And the objects are kinda small. But so far, the objects are neither too similarly colored in comparison to the background nor disguised in any way. Next, it gives you a mahjong of the "match the changing tiles at the bottom" type. As you work the mahjong, you also find letters that form a word, and when you have formed the word, you beat the level. A free tile "cat" appears every so often and allows you to remove any tile. Look for the most matches with a bottom tile because of an increasing bonus as you go. (The only problem is, I can't figure out what bonus points are for!) Finally, you spin a wheel, and wherever it stops, you get a "bonus game." These can be matching, bingo, tiling, or memory. It has not given me "memory" yet (6 tries), but the others are slightly different from what I expected from the title. ==The bingo numbers move along like a marble popper of the "Luxor" type. ==The matching only has two items that match on a page instead of the usual match all. ==The tiling is a jigsaw puzzle/"Patchworkz"-type game. You can skip the bonus games. Personally, I would have liked to play JUST the bonus games. But the only option outside the quest is "Zen Mahjong." The art is clear, bright and pretty. The music is too repetitive but orientally fitting, and then sometimes resolves into something that sounds like it belongs in a Western. There are lots of options about what the mahjong tiles can look like. Some seem unusual, but then I am not a Mahjong person. All in all, the best thing is--it's DIFFERENT. I thought I would hate it. Yet it is still running in the background as I write this. Try it! January 11, 2016
Terrific game for playing in spurts This game is a mixture of mahjong, hidden object and other puzzles such as concentration. It's perfect for when you just want ten or fifteen minutes of relaxation. The difficulty builds as you move through the game, but its still achievable all the way. The music and graphics are nice. January 29, 2016
I'm loving this game! This is a game of many parts. The main game is mahjong, which I'm not usually a fan of, but the version here it is really fun to play. The mini-games are everything from Bingo to tanagrams and are well done, IMHO. I will go back and re-play them sometime. There is also one hidden object scene per level (I think). It varies from "find 20 of these" to "find these objects" to "silhouettes" This is a great game for when you want to relax. January 13, 2016
Beautiful and fun to play - relaxing I love being able to play a game like this with no silly "save the world" story -- it's pretty to look at and fun to play. I would have liked to have more hidden object games as the illustrations are so well done, and the option to play the mini games on demand after the game is finished. February 16, 2016
This winner deserves a trophy as well as amulets! Lost Amulets might be one of the best games I've played in a long time, and I'm not a MahJong solitaire fan. But Amulets combines Mah Jong and hidden objects as well as matching and BINGO to create a really fun puzzler. You have to find all five lost amulets by finding hidden objects. The scenes are birds' eye, which takes it up a notch. They're so much fun, and the objects (5 horseshoes, 4 numbers, etc.) as well as different kinds of butterflies are challenging. Not only that, the solitaire isn't your everyday tile-match but another matching game. As tiles pop up on the bottom, you have to pair them with free tiles in the level. There are freebies (the gold cat waving its paw) and also hidden/memory tiles - just in case you thought it was going to be easy. Graphics are gorgeous, and I enjoyed the mellow music. This one's a winner. May 15, 2016
Fun, relaxing puzzle game I particularly enjoyed this hidden object/puzzle game. There was no silly story line, just gentle music and good graphics. There are a variety of puzzle types which get increasingly difficult. None of the puzzles is impossible, but a few of the later mahjongg tables required multiple attempts to succeed, which I liked. Zen mode lets you keep playing the games after you've completed the whole sequence. April 17, 2016
Awesome! I love hidden object games and mahjong games also. This is just that. No running around with this one. Just plan ol' relaxing fun. February 6, 2016
