The Curio Society: Eclipse Over Mesina Collector's Edition is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Game. Just got around to playing this game. Great graphics and storyline. The bonus chapter was a bit short but purchased the CC edition on sale - so not a problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Welcome to Our Powerful Secret Society! This game invites you to join a powerful secret society that has an owl as their symbol. Also this story is full of hidden clues that you need to realize about their real meaning so you can understand the real purpose of your life. The rituals that you need to accomplish to get accepted in the secret society are going to be hard but are going to be worthy because you are going to be rewarded with everything that you have ever wanted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Game ... Great Graphics, Sound, Effects, Animations, Voice & Video Bits ... I'm Hoping This Might Be The Beginning Of A Series For This Agent ... The Concept Was Well Done ... Plenty Of Adventure With A Nice Mixed Bag Of HOG Styles & Puzzles ... Bonus Chapter Is A Nice Addition To The Main Story ... Well Worth Getting On A Special Deal ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Take That, Gargoyle! TITLE: THE CURIO SOCIETY: ECLIPSE OVER MESINA, CE HOW MANY SETTINGS? Four: Casual, Advanced, Hardcore and Custom. GRAPHICS: Excellent, fun things to look at and find! I especially liked the Egyptian artifacts and cartouches. MAP: Yes, and interactive. (Hint for beginners: If you can’t find any place to go on the map you probably have something in your inventory you need to do, or there is something or somewhere else you need to find in your present place.) PUZZLES: Pretty good, although a couple of times I thought there would be a puzzle and the game just did the actions for me. I was on casual, so maybe I will try a harder level next time, although it didn’t say that certain levels had harder puzzles. HOS: Excellent, and I really enjoyed them. Actually had to switch to the alternate game (match 3) when I couldn’t find the last items in some HOS, a rarity for me, if I do say so myself! MUSIC: Turned it off. Irritating for me when the music gets more intense: I basically like a calm atmosphere!:) STORY LINE: You are recruited to a mysterious society after you are in the papers for solving some pretty difficult and dangerous cases. Others have summarized the plot, but I will add the bonus game is outstanding and tells the back story of one of the members of the “Curio Society” It doesn’t affect the story so you don’t actually need it. MY TAKE: A wonderfully strong HOPA that is sure to delight intermediate and beginner players. I’m not an expert so I don’t speak for them! This is definitely worth it and one of my favorites this year. And referring to the title of my review you get to shoot ugly gargoyles throughout the game; got me in touch with my inner cowgirl! I agree with tucker_ratdog: This game is just a heap of fun! LAST PLAYED: December 02, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gargoyl Delight I'm so glad I tried this game, I'm loving it. Lots of mini games and some ho scenes, items to find, lots to do. Don't let the bad reviews stop you, try it, you just might be surprised, like I was. I'm not far into the game, but, can say with certainty that it's going to be one of my favorites.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just Plain Fun Ya know, every so often a game comes along that is just pure fun! Not too difficult, easy maneuverability, colorful characters and lots of variety in the things to do. Oh, and not to mention how you don't have to tax your brain trying to locate all the CE extras, they just seemed to pop up and inform you as you moved along in the game, Sure the storyline isn't new or original but there are a lot of games out there that are repetitive and resemble one another. That being said I think sometimes we need to give more kudos to the Developers who crank out game after game for our pleasure and entertainment. Where would we be without them? While the other reviews described the game itself in more detail, I just wanted to add that I had a lot of fun playing this one, it is a wonderful game for those dreary Winter weekends. Try it for yourself and see what you think.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'll play this one again! I like the graphics very much. The characters were easy to tell apart; the scenery was fine. The scenery was realistic enough for me. I also like it that they used the full spectrum, instead of having one predominating color (Like purple, or gray, or blue…) The music doesn’t wow me but doesn’t irritate me either. (I wish Big Fish would give us separate stars for graphics and music! Not to mention give us a nice empty star to signify “no stars.”) I found the mechanics to be easy to use, except when I finished the main game and went for the bonus. Whatever it was that they gave us to click on didn’t work for me; I had to go back to the main menu. (And here my memory fails me – I think I had to click on start; I know I clicked on the bonus window that was chained up during the main game.) There were a few mini-games in both the standard and the bonus that either had bad directions, or the directions bounced off of my odd brain. I prefer to think it’s their fault! (grin) Some objects are too close to the bottom of the screen, making it hard to pick them up without exiting the HOS. I think the story is different enough from the hordes to be good. I enjoyed it. There was enough logic to keep me from being booted out of The HOPA Zone ™ and makes it above average. It seems to be placed in the late 1920s to early 30s, based on cars and costumes. If our characters are very slow to update their fashions in dressing and cars, then I have no problem with the 1946 TV in the case. I was a bit disconcerted by the computer, but after all, it’s a secret society, and they could have had access to these new-fangled things. I wasn’t thrilled by the bonus game – it’s full of easy mini-games except for the ones where the directions made no sense to me - until I got to the end! It’s a surprise, so keep going. Some language-based gripes: In one puzzle, close to the end, the writers reversed horizontal and vertical. A “disk” is round, not square! HOPA Zone™ mysteries: Once again, I have a mental snort when we walk around a room, stealing stuff, with a person right there. Couldn’t we have a dialog box where that person says “take whatever you need” every time we enter that room? Or have the graphics folks remove the person? I wish all the devs, not just Domino, would realize that flag-arms do not open mailboxes. They just tell the mail carrier that you have outgoing mail for her/him to pick up. While most of the anachronisms were explainable, on a projector not belonging to the Curio Society, the power switch would have been labeled On and Off, not l and O. Lastly, a Western saddle on a camel?? I don’t think so, Tim. Over all – this is a game I know I will play again. I really enjoyed it. Keep up the good work, Domino!
