The Lord Of Weather Returns After playing both versions, I feel that the Standard Edition is a much better choice, when purchasing a Hidden Object Adventure game, I usually choose the Collector's edition, but with a Time Management game, I don't see the value in a Strategy Guide, when you can just replay any level to achieve a better score, and the rest of the "extras" just aren't enough to make me jump on the CE bandwagon. After the warlock Victor defeated his Uncle and became ruler, Victor grew bored. Naturally, Victor jumped at the chance to travel to the Fairyland kingdom of Lorraine to save Princess Olivia who has been imprisoned in her own tower! I love the "weather" feature that Weather Lord Time Management games offer allowing you to click and drag Clouds to water the crops, the Sun to dry up swamps and deter ghosts, and the Wind to swoosh away the cobwebs. There are two modes of difficulty available, Casual which is untimed and Expert which is timed, and you can earn Gold, Silver or Bronze status for each level, which can be replayed as often as you want to try for a faster score. Like most TM games, you will clear paths of debris, fix damaged roads, bridges and buildings, collect gold, harvest crops, cut trees for lumber and build various buildings such as Sawmills, Houses, Mines, Grain Mills, Forges and even Jewelry Shops to produce resources. The Collector's Edition has the addition of some levels that contain treasure chests with collectible Artifacts, Axes, Shovels, Rakes, and Staffs, and there are several Awards or Achievements to earn. Each level also gives you an icon Bonus such as an Extra Worker, Faster Workers or More Resources, which only last briefly, but can be used again once the meter refills. The Collector's Edition has 9 Music Soundtracks, 6 Wallpapers, Awards, Artifacts, a built in Strategy Guide and Bonus levels available, enjoy! November 30, 2015
Another Weather Lord Winner So far, I've really enjoyed the SE Weather Lord series. The Princess art is the same as WL3 and WL4. Game play is about the same. Two major changes. The weather icons are now at the bottom left of the screen. I liked that. In the other WLs, they were scattered and sometimes hard to find and hold. However, I wasn't happy about not being able to click 3 workers at a time. That was a pretty good strategy. Now the game runs like most other fetch&carry games so I had to scatter the workers to 3 different tasks. Not a deal breaker but it was a plus for the WL series. Each level requires at least 2 tries to get gold. But I haven't needed a strategy guide or walkthrough. I recommend it for anyone who has enjoyed the WL series. It now has a casual untimed mode so it can be played by anyone who doesn't like the time feature. I don't buy CEs in general because I don't use the extras. I prefer not to have a strategy guide but it's nice for players who want one. November 30, 2015
Fun time management. Love the weather component. I also like the variety on the different levels. I did purchase this game. December 2, 2015
Why the changes? I really liked Weather Lord: The Successor's Path, so I bought this one without trying it first. I agree with the other reviewer who said it's nice the weather elements are always located in the same spot, but neither of us likes that we can no longer stack up activities. I also don't like that we are do longer able to assign more than 1 worker to the same activity (kind of takes strategy out of the equation#. Further, we now have to click twice to create a building and are not able to click and start without clicking numerous times to get through the storyline narrative #I'm more into play than storyline). To me, all the unnecessary clicking slows down the play and is a little tedious. I give it a Fun Factor of poor because I don't find the changes to the game enjoyable and I would not buy it again. In all fairness, I most enjoy the challenge of setting the right strategy rather than seeing how fast I can click on actions, so take that into consideration when reading this review. Details It would be nice to know before purchasing any of your games how many levels are available. Although I like playing games like this I don't believe I would've purchased it if I had known there were a limited amount of levels. December 3, 2015
Okay but not really satisfying I have played the other weather lord games and I enjoyed this one less than previous games in the series. The game play is good and it is a lot of fun but it was way to easy to get gold in every level. December 12, 2015
