Sable Maze: Soul Catcher Collector's Edition is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unique game with challenging puzzles, try it! Story seems old, lost brother - go back to Sullivan River to find him, BUT the graphics and unfolding of the story is exceptionable! There are 10 figurines of the characters to collect. There are also morphing jigsaw puzzle pieces to later put together for screen savers. Well done Daily Magic. Puzzles were hard for me and took a long time to figure out; Beginners may not like this game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sable Maze - Soul Catcher Great game with a great story line, lots of challenges for all levels and great graphics and music as well. I played the trial and that induced me to buy the game. I love a long running game and this one fit the bill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mini-Gamer's Game I really did enjoy this one because I like games with plenty of mini-puzzles and this one delivered. Some are old, some new, most fairly easy but not so easy as to be boring. A couple were quite challenging. The player is a young man (for a change) who, while memorializing a lost brother, is sucked into the same maze world his brother was 20 years ago and off to the rescue. This involves a creepy summer camp, druids, and a masked, robed character whose mystery lasts about 30 seconds. Some notes on the writing below. Pros: excellent art, very colorful and imaginative. I wanted to explore the other tree houses sooo bad... Music neither too cloying nor too abrasive, I left it on the whole time. Voice acting better than usual (it's sort of a low bar). Game play crisp and with one exception well-coordinated with the pointing device. LOADs of mini-puzzles, hurrah! HO scenes vary and do not bring the pace of the game to a sudden halt. Cons: the 3D amulet scenes, while innovative, were not very well coordinated with the mouse and it was a bit of a slog to hope to get close enough to lock in. Certain of the achievements were mutually exclusive. And then there's the writing. Once again, one really needed to complete the bonus game to figure out what the whole thing was really about, and the difference between the souls you're trying to free and everyone else. The Druid may be the wimpiest Druid in all of gamedom. And the ending...well, perhaps a bit Slavic in its darkness. Could the Devs hire a few writers who weren't brought up on Dostoevsky? It would help. But overall, just plain fun! It isn't groundbreaking but it's solid and well-constructed. Five stars for the pure pleasure to play.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this game. As the second game I have played from this developer, I am very pleased with this one. Puzzles were great,I loved the art and story line, it was fun and interesting to play and it showed amazing imagination in the creating of it. While this game probably does not need another review, I wanted to write it because I would really like to see more games of this caliber being presented. The artists who created this game should celebrate and gives themselves a pat on the back It was wonderful.!! .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely a Brilliant Game (Demo) After playing the demo trail version of this game. I am certainly going to purchase the collector's edition today. The graphics are awesome, the sound is of excellent quality. The story line is indeed quite intriguing and I am anxious to find out if the bad guy is the little brother or what. The level of challenge is strong enough to make me want to figure out everything without using a hint or the skip. I like this game and the game keeps your interest!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looking For Souls In All The Wrong Places This was a pretty cool game. Like the use of the ruin I received from the boatmen who resemble death. Had critter action, jump map, Working HO's, fairly good characters, fairly good music, Nice game flow, collect puzzles pieces, and characters from the story. Goes near the top of my to buy list.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What evil is lurking in the Maze... I want to wish this team a very Happy New Year with much success and all the kibbles Mr. Jenkins can eat, (or fish). :) Boy, this team has been really busy. Last week Ominous Objects and now this week Sable Maze, which by the way is spookier than all get out. As soon as I started playing the game, the creepiness set in. The VO's are awesome. They fit the characters very well. The cutscenes in the game are amazing. I'm truly loving this game. To me it deserves more than 5 stars. So far I seen puzzle pieces as collectibles. Story: It's been 20 years since your brother went missing and you realize that he is gone for good. He keeps coming to you in your dreams as if he has something very important to tell you. Not only do you go back to Sullivan River to see what he needs to say, but also to have a memorial for the children that went missing that day. When you arrive, a lady asks if you can set up the memorial site, and after that is done, you're pulled into the maze. Everything around you looks the same, but everyone has vanished. It's like everything went from color to black and white and very drab looking. And so now it's time to continue on with your journey and seek out your brother. Mini Games: From memory lol. They are fun. One was a put the skeleton heads in the right place to make the correct image, another was to put the round color pegs into the same color holes, another was to jump the roses until one was left, the other was turn the tiles until the image is correct, and the other was when you cross the river you have to put a rune together to ward off the evil spirits so you make it safely across. Really nice variety. H0GS: I only played two so far. One was find 5 of one object and 5 of another and then find what's on the list, and the other was use one object to get another. I love these type of H0GS. Music: Really good music. The crescendos of the music were where they should be. The music worked perfect with this game and added to the creep factor. Map: As you open it you see the guide right there and what each icon means. It's a jump map. I want to say again that this team rocks! Kudos to them on another job well done. I am truly looking forward to continuing on with the game. I highly recommend this game! Sue

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Who Do You Want To See In The Underworld? July 27, 1995. This is a date the Warren family will never forget. It's been 20 years since young Darren disappeared from summer camp at Sullivan's River, his body was never found! Lately, Darren has been trying to reach out to Aaron in his dreams, he desperately needs his brother's help escaping the underworld. Aaron must return to Sullivan's River and enter the Maze to the underworld, but someone doesn't want him there and the spirits are restless, will Aaron make it through the maze, or join his brother in the underworld for the rest of eternity? It seems like Sable Maze is getting creepier with each new release, but none of them seem to compare with the original.....until now! This game has some of the most clever Puzzles I've ever seen. Let's face it, the mini games can either make or break the game, and this one should earn an award for creativity! There are Morphing Jigsaw pieces, one in each scene to collect and assemble to create 4 different Screensavers. There are plenty of Achievements to earn, and several Plus Sign inventory items requiring some type of interaction with before using the item, some of which have puzzles to tinker with as well. There are also 10 Collectible Character Figures throughout the game. The Hidden Object Scenes are just average, one of which is repeated in the same scene which really bothers me every time. There are only a few available in the demo itself, the first requires you to find 5 alike items on the left of the bar, and 5 different items on the right. When all 10 items have been found they will unlock two separate list columns. The next HOP is a progressive interactive list find followed by finding several Fragments in the same scene. You can opt to play a Match 3 game instead of the HOP's. The Mini Games are either new or have a whole new twist on an older version, they are refreshing and entertaining, by far some of the best puzzles I can remember playing in a long time. Below are brief descriptions of some of the Mini Games you will encounter during the demo: 1) Restore the image by rotating the tiles but one tile affects other tiles. 2) Restore the map by choosing one of the three tiles on the left that fit into the next puzzle space and then choosing what column it belongs in. 3) Rotate the 3D image until it comes into focus then place the pieces correctly. 4) Slide the tokens into the slots matching the same color as the outlines. 5) Swap the skulls to complete the design behind them. 6) Raise all tiles to illuminate all tiles, one affects others. 7) Repair a net using thread of three different lengths. 8) Remove roses by jumping one another until only one remains. 9) Drag the Chain lock through a maze landing on buttons to open various gates blocking the paths. 10) Complete the center medallion by maneuvering the four jeweled tokens. This Collector's Edition has 15 Developer's Diary pictures, 11 Concept Art pictures, 8 Wallpapers, 10 Collectible Character Figures, 6 Match 3 levels, 6 Music Soundtracks, 37 Achievements, Collectible Morphing Puzzle pieces which will create 4 different Screensavers, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!
