The Far Kingdoms: Sacred Grove Solitaire 3.9 5 16 16
In An Elven Galaxy Far Far Away.... I absolutely love the beautiful hand drawn graphics of the Elven realms in this edition of The Far Kingdoms Solitaire game. This is a Higher/Lower type solitaire where you play either one card higher or one card lower than the foundation card regardless of suit. You can choose from three different card designs and four face card styles, there is also a Widescreen option, however, when I selected this option, it didn't change the fact that there are wide black fill in strips on both sides of the screen. An Earthquake has destroyed the elven kingdom and the Elven Queen has asked for your help to restore the kingdom to it's former glory, playing magic solitaire of course. To rebuild the Kingdom, you will need Elven Crystals which are collected each time you play a game of solitaire. Combos of 5 or more will fill up the multiplier bar which will earn more crystals. As you progress, some of the cards are blocked with various obstacles such as chains and locks which will require finding a "key" card hidden under other cards. You will earn Wild Cards that are face value specific, in other words a number 2 card can only be used as a number two face value. Some cards you uncover have extra crystals, some will flip over a face down card, some will fill the undo feature as well. Once you have collected enough crystals, you can purchase items to rebuild the kingdom, starting with the Druid Shield that will give you a deck of magic cards to begin your training. Each building you construct will give you some type of bonus such as the Sword of Glory which can be used to remove any single face up card on the board or The Wheel of Time which gives you an extra undo option. You must first get the blueprints and construct them in the form of a very easy jigsaw puzzle. Throughout the game you will collect 10 Magic Spark Relic Artifacts that will restore the Sacred Garden and the Sacred Tree within the grove. This is a really good Solitaire game with a lot of good features. The graphics are hand drawn and very beautiful. My favorite solitaire game is still The Chronicles of Emerland but this game was an immediate purchase for this solitaire geek, enjoy! December 29, 2015
A BEAUTIFUL, AWESOME SOLITAIRE GAME. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Yes, I know we have seen the one up or one down type of solitaire games over and over but Far Kingdoms Sacred Grove is really quite beautiful and, IMHO, the perfect solitaire for hours of relaxing enjoyment along with a nice cup of tea. The graphics are lovely and full of elven fantasy. Not only are the graphics just what I look forward to in a game, the music is very relaxing so I don?t feel the need to turn it off. All in all this is a wonderful solitaire game. You play the game as the elven queen who has arrived at the Sacred Grove only to find that it has been destroyed by a catastrophic earthquake. The druid kingdom was one a place of powerful magic but right now it seems that is no longer the case so what is there to do but roll up your sleeves and get busy restoring the once magical Sacred Grove. As we play through the levels we find or earn crystals that will help us restore the druid kingdom and bring back the magic. After you earn enough crystals you can purchase buildings or items that will help you in your quest to rebuild. Sometimes when you purchase a building it comes with extra surprises and power-ups that will be helpful as you play the levels. I love the extras that come my way such as a jigsaw puzzle to complete. The game is a surprise and certainly not your boring standard solitaire game. I love it! Even though I probably have enough solitaire games to keep me happy for years into the future, Far Kingdoms Sacred Grove is one I must add to my collection. If you happen to love solitaire and beautiful graphics, please try the demo to see if this is a must have for you too. December 29, 2015
BEST SOLITAIRE SINCE AVALON LEGENDS 2 Not as many levels as Avalon 2 but much better graphics and story. Mini games and power up are more fun and useful .The hint button is a new feature. I enjoyed the trial version very much and I'm sure I'll be adding to my collection with my next game credit. December 30, 2015
Finally, a super fun card game It's higher\lower solitaire where you play rounds to earn crystals to rebuild the kingdom. December 30, 2015
a really pretty game i thoroughly enjoyed this game. it didn't have the annoying number of cards to get and you could get crystals to build the buildings at you own pace with no penalties!!!!!! very relaxing. it took me a little over 11 hours to finish it but i so enjoyed it. i get so tired of having to plays levels over and over again to get the minimum number like so many other solitaire games. i highly recommend it unless you want a great challenge. you do have to use strategies with the cards! it will take a while but i had fun!!! The Far Kingdoms: Sacred Grove Solitaire Another great game in the series December 30, 2015
The Magic's in the Cards The beauty of the graphics and the eerily enchanting music may draw you into the Elven Kingdom to help rebuild it using magic cards. The cards are clear, attractive and fit perfectly with the setting. There's an optional tutorial which, while not totally clear (at least to me# in details of the rebuilding part of the game, is useful especially for those new to solitaire. The card game itself is, well, is just solitaire #golf version) in which you chain higher/lower cards regardless of suit. There are the usual power-ups like mulligans, and wild cards. The play is smooth, and you have an opportunity to replay each hand. The wild cards aren't fully wild as they are numbered but very useful as when your deck is nearly empty and you can't make any more chains. In sum, the game is a solitaire of good looks, good play and a decent if not spectacular back story. But basically, it's a solitaire we've played often before but done better than many out there. I recommend it on it's merits, but if you're looking for some new variations, you may have to go elsewhere. As always, try it and be the judge. December 29, 2015
More than just solitaire I used one of my game credits halfway through, music and graphics enjoyable and relaxing, but the game itself is more challenging than just another solitaire game, need those crystals to rebuild the elvin empire, need to use a little bit of strategy using your cards, really like this one! So close to perfection This was my first of the series and I love the graphic beauty and ease of game play, but I enjoy peering into the structures between rounds and being able to see again (in a mouse-over for instance) what they are, but you only get one chance, as you are playing to gain points to restore each structure; afterward you can view the scene but have to recall what the charming structures are. At the end of the game your achievements (relics in this case) similarly are not labelled. Oh well, too much to ask for a full fairy tale for grown-ups I guess. The story is simple and charming and I would not at all mind more story detail, and I'd enjoy seeing a few elves move about once in a while. Nevertheless, such a lovely game deserves to be enjoyed and I hope that you will. Maybe I'm more expert at solitaire than I know, but I found this game lenient, rather than challenging; not a negative, just perhaps something you'd like to know as a buying point. Intermittent mini-games are all jigsaw puzzles which I rather enjoy. Think I'll go have a look at the rest of this series ... February 27, 2016
