Vampire Legends: The Count of New Orleans Collector's Edition 3.8 5 29 29
Vampire Legends 3 returns with a Thrilling story in The Big Easy!!! Your grandma always told you stories about New Orleans, about vampires, magic and ghosts, and now you are finally here! Your journey begins at the Terminal Station of New Orleans and will lead you to the most beautiful and creepiest places in the city. While photographing the infamous house of the Carter brothers, you learn that they are serial murderers who were captured after their fifteenth victim Beatrice Lefort escaped from their home. During an initial visit to the home you saw the Carter brother ghosts nearby, and photographed what you saw with your camera. This camera will prove to be very helpful when you develop the film in your hotel room each time you take a photo. As you begin to follow clues left by them, you have an opportunity to meet and question Beatrice. She gives you an Amulet and tells you to pursue what your looking for at the Saint Louis Cemetery. You arrive at the cemetery and briefly speak to the grounds keeper, who gives you a map to the Carter brothers tomb. You discover that their tomb has been destroyed and their bodies stolen. You proceed further into the cemetery where you open a secret crypt only to meet the Count Saint Germain, infamous Vampire of New Orleans. Are you ready to face such threat? What is the connection to The Count and the Carter brothers and how will you stop them? At this point your trial is over and the Horror adventure really begins to go Full Throttle. Explore the darkest corners of New Orleans and find out the REAL story of the Carter brothers while facing fierce vampires. This story is extremely well written with excellent voice overs complete with accents and perfect lip synch. I think mature players will be totally immersed in this latest edition to the Vampire Legends Series. The attention to detail and flawless graphics are pure eye candy and the puzzles range from easy to difficult as well as the hidden object scenes. I have a feeling this will be the last edition as a trilogy, I hope that I am wrong. I loved every moment of this click-and-point adventure. I highly recommend this one to fans of the Horror Genre! Enjoy every drop.... March 26, 2016
Vampire Legends: The Count Loved this game for the challenges in the mini-games and the story-line is fun. I tried in for 10 minutes and bought it immediately. I play as an Intermediate player and enjoyed it but I have no doubts that a Beginner or an Ace would enjoy it as much as I did. March 28, 2016
Different Than the Standard Games Great story. Many nooks and crannies to investigate. Better than most of the standard games they have been plowing out at record speed. I was not disappointed from the very beginning of this game to the end. Could use more games like this one. April 4, 2016
BOOGIE ON DOWN TO THE BIG EASY FOR A ?BLOODY? FRIGHTFEST 6 CHAPTERS PLUS A BONUS CHAPTER OVERVIEW OF THE GAME: Boogie on down to the Big Easy of the 1930?s in a ?blood curdling? vampire adventure with two ghosts added to the mix. This is a decent low 5-star game! The graphics are cartoon-like but reflect the atmosphere of New Orleans during the time period. Those thick?as-molasses Southern accents are authentic as well. The story is about the immortal St. Germain (with a twist); the pace is good and kept my interest. The inventory is interactive. There are more puzzles than HOP scenes in the demo. Not having had a vampire thriller in quite some time, the story is ?bloody? refreshing. The HOP scenes are varied and provide some uniquely creative elements. The puzzles are also creative as well. You receive an old 1930?s camera to take photos and you learn how to develop film. The collectibles are masks. STORY: You, as paranormal investigator, Angeline, are researching the history of two brothers named Carter who are serial killers. Legend has it that these killers drained their victims of blood in order to feed a vampire. As you investigate, you soon realize you are in for a ?beaucoup? of trouble from the ghosts of the Carter brothers plus the vampire. Creepily, they stalk you as you travel throughout New Orleans. You better keep your ?gris-gris? with you at all times to protect yourself in this game as you travel through St. Louis cemetery in search of answers. There is danger lurking at every corner of Cajun country. HOP SCENES: They are creative and varied. The scenes are interactive and require actions be performed before eliminating an item. They include lists of items and replacement of items back into the scene. The one which I enjoyed the most was the first HOP scene in which you replace items back into the scene. It is interactive and well-done. You have the option to play a Match-3 game featuring Mardi Gras beads. You must collect a certain amount of each color of bead. PUZZLES: They are varied in difficulty and variety. Most are easy; however there is one in the demo which is moderately difficult. They include a truly unique multiple-step one, a switching tiles puzzle, a matching puzzle, and an assembly puzzle. My favorite puzzle was an assembly puzzle in which you must combine parts of two symbols together to match symbols on a door. EXTRAS: A transportable map is provided to you as you play the game. You receive a notebook to collect information on the case. Collect 52 masks, There are 14 achievements. You receive an old 1930?s camera to take pictures and then develop them as you play the game. There are the usual wallpaper, artwork, music in this game. LEVELS: Casual, Normal, Expert, Custom Hints and Skips 5 to 120 seconds HERE ARE THE DETAILS (SPOILERS) FOR THOSE WANT MORE INFORMATION ON THE HOP SCENES AND MINI-PUZZLES HOP SCENES: You have the option to play a theme based Match 3 game instead. You must collect a certain amount of 3 colored Mardi Gras beads. A. Replace items back into the scene. Creative and well-done B. List of items to locate. Somewhat creative C. List of items to locate to create your own gris-gris. PUZZLES: You can reset the puzzles. A. Logic puzzle. Following clues, cross off names and numbers in a phone book to locate the name and number of a person of interest. EASY B. Multiple-step puzzle. After paying a token, receive objects to be used in the puzzle. Use each piece to open a new part of the puzzle. Place items into correct locations to continue in the puzzle. EASY C. Switching tiles puzzle. Switch tiles to create a map of a cemetery. EASY D. Matching puzzle. Match up photo circles on a map with the actual locations 9X EASY E. Matching puzzle. Match up symbols from two pieces of paper with those on a door to open the door EASY F. Assembly puzzle. Place cables which contain symbols on them into the correct holes to create images above a door. MODERATELY DIFFICULT March 26, 2016
5 Stars all the Way! Finally a Game worthy of 5 Stars! Great Story line and lovey Graphics. Nothing I can add that hasn't already been said! April 3, 2016
did everything right! Wow this is my kind of game. Decent storyline about serial killers who were caught but have now become vampires and are back to claim the one victim who managed to get away. Collectible masks that are not that easy to find and to make it harder they fade in and out. Good mix of HO's... work from the list or some put items back in or you could play a little match 3 game instead. quite fun. Lots of interesting characters to interact with who's VO's were good and even the character I was playing had a voice. I like that. Extras like a camera and a dark room to develop the photos that you then put to use in the game. I liked that the darkroom had a link to the last place you were so you just jump back there. I also liked having the multi tool so you were not always searching for tools that you just had a few minutes ago. This game also had some length so it was worth the cost. Now to my fave part.. the mini games. I loved the harder ones like the swapping of the key chains. But even some of the easier ones like placing colored circles and making shapes with wire were really fun to play. I did mess up my one achievement of not skipping any of them as one of the games that required you to flip numbers to get them in order would not work on mine. The white directional arrows did nothing but it did not lessen the fun I had with this game. Little things like music changing with each location so it's not a repetitive annoying loop and small extras like dragonflies and crickets in the swamp made it feel like they took their time on this one. Really enjoyed the bonus chapter and the surprise ending. All in all this game had what is required most fun, length and some thought provoking mini games. well done I really enjoyed it. Good Story Loved it, great story, great HOS. Held my interest from start to finish. March 31, 2016
Fantastic I played the Beta game, so I was thrilled the game had finally been released. You have two sorts of HOS one you have to place the object, and the other you have to find them. The map can be annoying at times, but others may not think the way I do. The graphics are good, the story excellent, and the ending leaves with you wanting more, which is great. I hope there will be another game and soon!!! March 30, 2016
Love New Orleans I wasnt sure what peoples issues were with this game. I liked it a lot. I had no problems and I liked the story and it was fun to play. New Orleans means a lot to me and I was excited to play it. One heck of a cliffhanger though. I didnt find 1 mask and it sucks you cant go back to find it. Oh well. Enjoyable game. September 21, 2016
The One That Got Away The Carter Brothers were just ordinary everyday kind of people. Two brothers living in the French Quarters of New Orleans, working for a living at the docks, typical neighbors that kept to themselves. Au contraire mon frere, Wayne and John Carter are responsible for the death of 14 people, (although they only admitted to a dozen, they probably lost count) victims that had been drained entirely of blood. Surely the body count would have risen if not for the one who got away, Beatrice Lefort! As a Paranormal Investigator, you've seen it all, and vampires don't exist......but, this is N'awlins, and St. Germain will make you a believer! I love this supposedly true event storyline, but I thought the game moved too slow at times. I'm still on the fence about purchasing this game, the demo ended with a great cliffhanger, but I'm afraid it won't keep up that pace. Because you are a journalist, you naturally have a camera for photo ops. Each time you take a picture, you will rush back to your hotel room bathroom which has been transformed into a makeshift darkroom, so you can develope the photo, using step by step instructions shown. There are Achievements to earn and 52 Mardi Gras Masks to collect, some of which are fairly well hidden. The Hidden Object Scenes aren't the best, but not horrible either, most of them are Interactive List Finds. There are also slightly Progressive Interactive scenes and scenes where you return items from the inventory bar into the scene where they belong. The Mini Games vary from basic and simple to somewhat complex, but nothing too hard or frustrating. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo: 1) Cross out the men on a phone book, then cross off all names that don"t start with a B and end in e. 2) Interact with train track pieces until the correct path has been chosen. 3) Swap puzzle pieces to restore a map. 4) Connect symbols using cables to create the symbols shown when two shapes are combined. This Collector's Edition has 14 Achievements, Wallpapers, Screensavers, Music Soundtracks, 52 Collectible Mardi Gras Masks, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy March 26, 2016
