Phantasmat: Town of Lost Hope Collector's Edition 3.6 5 36 36
The Texas Chainsaw Fears The Axe Wielding Jeffery! Another Phantastic Phantasmat where a Wrong Turn leads you to a dilapidated gas station where "mother" runs the Psycho show. Baby Jeffrey has grown up to be quite a lady killer, literally, and it's tough to escape his maze of horrors because what Jeffrey wants, Jeffrey gets! This is one Fright Night you may not live to talk about, but then again, this is Phantasmat, a grey area somewhere between life and death! It's no secret that this is my favorite series, I still love the original Phantasmat storyline the best, but wow, I love this sick twisted plot! Each scene has a Hidden Sign and there are plenty of Achievements to earn throughout Jeffery's Town of Lost Hope. The Hidden Object Scenes are varied with several smaller Zoom Zone scenes with a handful of listed items to find, as well as several typical Phantasmat HOS where you find 5 items in two categories and then receive an item to use on the icons to expose a few interactive lists of items. There are progressive silhouetted shape finds and my favorite was searching for matching items by turning carousel shelves. You can opt for a Match 3 game instead of the HOP. The Mini Games are not bad, but they do tend to be on the easy side during the demo, but like all Phantasmat games, they do get more challenging as the game progresses. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo: 1) Move the tokens into the correct locks avoiding the rotating ornaments. 2) Place the numbers into the correct spaces on the clock using arrows and the center space to swap. 3) Interact with a Town layout as a story is told. 4) Connect wires of the same color by rotating circuits. Activate the elevator by selecting knobs to change the electrical wiring values. This Collector's Edition has 9 Music Soundtracks, 14 Videos, 8 Wallpapers, 8 Concept Art pictures, 12 Achievements, 13 replayable HOP's, 20 replayable Puzzles, replayable Match 3 games, a41 Hidden Signs, a Souvenir Room, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Adventure, Enjoy.......unless Jeffery gets you! Excellent Sequel of Pure Creepiness Based On Main & Bonus Games It's hard to top the original Phantasmat, but Eipix has cuddled up very close to it with this great offering with stunning graphics, eerie music, creepy sound effects and a hollow-eyed villain (who sees no need to shop at Roscoe's Villain Apparel for the usual and tedious crimson cape, thank heavens). The story is simple and easy to follow, with no supernatural crystals, artifacts, or dusty tomes of druid lore that are the usual fare lately (also available at Roscoe's, BOGO). The atmosphere is spot on for Phantasmat. The challenge level is just right for no hints,no skips, and no sneak peeks at SG, that is, above average. Puzzles and HOs are about 50/50, but both have some new and interesting ones. Puzzles can take time and thought occasionally, which is fine by me. Those who like tradtional HOs won't be disappointed either. There are no morphs, except in one HO. A match-3 game can be substituted for the HOs. Collectibles are 41 green specimen jars, though at first I thought they were trash cans. They appear in both games. The bling also includes the Souvenir Room, a mini-collectible hunt. Achievements, replayable HOs, match-3 & puzzles, a funny Eipix dev video plus the usual bling are included. You can go back and find any missed collectibles in the Extras menu. Nice. Don't forget to read silly comments in the credits too. The main game lasts about 4+ hours in the mode above, and the bonus game about 1.5. The bonus game tells the story from a different character's point of view, and is enjoyable. Is it worth a CE? Yes. The extras are fun, but both stories are great, plus Eipix has created a fantastically creepy, yet original and creative atmosphere. Plus the main game ending was straight out of Twilight Zone. Yow! Did not see that coming. If you like creepy, suspenseful games, snatch this one up. April 8, 2016
TOWN OF LOST HOPE IS EVERYTHING I EXPECT IN A PHANTASMAT GAME While taking your brother and his girlfriend to his ?big game? you find yourself hopelessly lost, so with the gas tank almost empty you stop at a rundown gas station to fill up. Yes you guessed it; this was your first mistake and one that turns drops you right in the middle of a nightmare. After a bump on the head, you wake up in a dingy room being cared for by an old woman who informs you that her son is out looking for your brother and his friend. What happened and who would want to attack you? It isn?t long before you realize that you are being held captive and you begin a frantic search for the missing teens. Play this creepy new Phantasmat and see if you can make it out of this abandoned old town unscathed. Town of Lost Hope has all of the technical aspects we expect to find from this game dev. The popular custom mode is included for those of you who like to fiddle with the settings when playing a game. The graphics are excellent and create the perfect atmosphere for this excellent creepy game. You have an interactive map that will help you navigate the game. There are no special gimmicks in sight so you will need to use your wits to escape the Town of Lost Hope. The HOPS are varied and some are multi-level. I am not going to set out the nitty-gritty spoilers for all the HOPS and mini-games because it is more fun if you find out what they are as you play the game. After all, if you know all the details, why even bother playing the game! I can tell you I think that both the HOPS and mini-games are excellent with some of the mini-games presenting more than a bit of challenge. The CE includes a decent array of extras that include collectibles, morphing objects, achievements, bonus chapter and the Strategy Guide. All of the other standard fluff that we normally find in CE games is included as well. It seems as if we are now going to get more creepy games since we had two of them last week and this week?s first CE offering is another wonderful game that follows that trend. Although I really enjoy games with more of the ?creepy? factor, I found this one at times to be disturbing, containing a good dose of psychological thriller element. At times I was on the edge of my chair and looking over my shoulder as I played. This awesome developer has given the Phantasmat series a new look and made the games in the series everything we could hope for ? that is, is you enjoy this type of game. I certainly love it and find Town of Lost Hope to be one of the best games in the series. That being said, even though I love the game, it might not be for you so please try the demo to see if this is a game you will enjoy. April 7, 2016
A true Phantasmat At last a creepy game ! A real one ! Some Ravenhurst , some Penumbria Motel, some maze 360 in there, a really well thought trough game ! The color palette is really dark, lots of psychological fear, characters are good. The HO's are very good, the puzzles interesting and different and we have morphing.... All in all a very pleasant creepy experience.....I will play it again... April 7, 2016
Lost and Somewhat Hopeless This is one of those can not get out of the parking lot days. Just when I think I am about to make progress up show Ma or Son and they are no fun. lol. Fantastic Game. Creepy, Scary, and can hardly wait to see what is around the next corner. Game has lots of Shadow HO'S with mini HO's and Some of those or was it all of them working HO's, Like how I got my map and yes a jump map, Characters were good, Nice Ambiance, Plenty to do, Do not remember any critter action, and there are some sort of collectable unlocked something or other that would not let me check into to see more of what it was. But in the game it looks like a waste basket with a sick green color. Like Hazard material or stuff from the dead. Can hardly wait to own this game as it is one of my favorite series and I own I think all of them. April 7, 2016
Phantasmat is Still Phantastic Yes, this game begins with another car and a strange exit. You wind up at a gas station and see a girl in a sewer grille, being kept prisoner by 'Jeffrey.' Of course you have to help her, and that's when the trouble starts. You wind up in a strange underground lair, complete with complicated locks, claw machines, and creepy dolls hanging from the ceiling. Don't let the rather cliched start make you think this game isn't worth it. Einix is right on fleek with their crisp graphics and fiendish puzzle play. This includes setting a clock, matching circuit boards, and rotating dials. There's also my favorite - a really fun train set complete with a tiny crane and telephone wires that you have to manipulate. There were a few jump scares, but I loved the girl prisoner's character as well as Jeffrey's ominous presence - not to mention his mother! Be prepared to get pulled into another dark, creepy Phantatmosphere - this game is a keeper. April 7, 2016
WHY I NEVER WANT TO RUN OUT OF GAS............................ [VERY CREEPY! ONE OF THE BEST GAMES I"VE SEEN THIS YEAR!] THIS TOWN IS A NIGHTMARE SO BEWARE!! LOTS OF GREAT PUZZLES ETC,DON'T MISS THIS PHANTASMAT!! April 7, 2016
Not for the weak at heart! My review is based on this demo. Fantastic game! As if you play in a horror/thriller movie like texas chainsaw massacre and the rob zombie movies! Eipix did a great job to capture this chilling and bizarre atmosphere. I like it very much! If you don't like this theme or don't want to see blood or somewhat disturbing atmosphere, I do not recommend this game BUT it's your own choice, play the great demo and make your decision! April 8, 2016
The Best Game In This Series .... Great Graphics, Sound, Effects, Animations, Story, Voice & Video Bits ... By Far The Best Game In The Series, A Sort Of Psycho & Wolf Creek Mix Without The Gore ... I Really Wanted To Get Into The Story So Skipped Most Of The Puzzles To Keep The Game Feeling Like An Interactive Movie/Adventure ... The Bonus Chapter Is OK, But Found It Odd To Be Escaping In The Car That Had Already Left In The Main Game ... Maybe I Missed Something There ??? Well Worth A Special Deal ... April 9, 2016
CREEPY!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE the game!!! It was eerie enough with a madman who even gave me the creeps. Storyline was EXCELLENT! Graphics were fantastic. Phantasmat HO games get better and better and more creepier than the last. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. We need more eerie games like this!!! I could not stop playing. May 17, 2016
