TAKE A BITE OUT OF CRIME IN THE BIG APPLE As an outstanding detective, venture off to New York to help the New York City police department solve some crimes involving street gangs. A gang war has erupted and you are helping them solve a series of) crimes by playing a series of nonogram puzzles per crime. A BIG THANK YOU to BFG for providing these puzzles. This developer calls them mosaic puzzles. However, no matter whatever you call them, they are a fun variation of Sudoku. This game involves a series of twelve (12) cases to solve with ten (10) puzzles per case. The grid size varies between 10 x 10 to 20 x 20 grids - if this game is like previous ones. Each puzzle reveals a picture answering a series of 10 questions concerning the case: (1) the crime scene, (2) the identification of the victim, (3) the victim?s age, (4) the victim?s gang, (5) the murder weapon, (6) the cause of death, (7) the killer, (8) the killer?s gang, (9) the killer?s role, and (10) the motive. The puzzles in this game are a tad more difficult than those provided by some other developers. There are multiple-colored screens. I played one case and it had three colors. The colors are vivid and easy to see. However, I find the actual pictures created by solving the nonograms very nondescript. Most of the puzzles I solved had pictures which looked more like blobs than any actual item. I also dislike the feature of thumb tacks instead of X?s to fill in unused squares. You have the choice between Normal (in which each number is crossed off one-by-one in each row and column) and Advanced (in which numbers are not crossed out until you complete a row or column). You begin with the ability to amass six errors and as you proceed, depending on your time, you will receive more free passes. If you exceed the amount of errors allotted to you, you will need to restart the puzzle. As you play you are timed and receive hints based on your time. There is autofill for squares not used. However, you have the ability to use the right side of the mouse to enter X?s to fill in unused square. DETAIL SUMMARY: HOW TO PLAY: This is variety of a Sudoku puzzle. In this puzzle, create pictures by filling in squares in a grid. The grids in this game will vary in number from 10 x 10 to 20 x 20 if this game is like the games in the past. Each side of the grid will have numbers for each line of squares indicating the amount of squares which are to be filled in for that line of squares. Squares are filled in where the squares intersect between the two sets of numbers on each side. ? Levels: Normal and Advanced. The Normal screen marks off the numbers individually while the Advanced screen marks off the numbers after a line is filled. The grids are the same for both levels. You will begin with a 10 x 10 screen. ? Colors: The game has three (3) colored screens which can be switched at any time while playing the puzzle. ? Autofill: There is autofill so you do not have to fill in the unused boxes. However, you can use your mouse to right click ?X?s? for unused spaces. ? Time: You are timed in solving the puzzles. ? Hints: Hints are given as you proceed and are based on time spent solving the puzzle. ? Number of Levels and Puzzles: There are 120 puzzles ? 12 cases with 10 puzzles per case ? You begin with six allotted errors and if you exceed the number of errors, you must restart the game. You earn more error passes according to your time. July 12, 2016
bad music, bad graphics, great fun, buying now! It's a great nonogram game. It seems more forgiving than some with the starting over for mistakes. And I like that the numbers are big even though the graphics are not attractive at all, though I suppose they will get smaller as the grids get bigger. Now I have to go find the other Hidden Clues games. July 12, 2016
Best Griddler I just loved this game. The storyline was good and it's the only game that I've ever played that I've used the advanced level and it made me feel so good. The colours are just right for me and don't give me a headache and I can keep all the numbers in the right lines. I used a coupon on this game but would have happily paid top dollar for it. great mosaic puzzles I LOVE the colors, so easy on the eyes. I love the stories, so original. I love the pictures, original. July 13, 2016
The Pictures And Colors Have Got To Start Improving! I'm a fan of this griddler detective game, but clearly they have made no attempt to improve on the graphics, or anything else for that matter. I'm afraid this series will get left behind. Games like Fantasy Mosaics and Rainbow Mosaics are perfect examples of how a good series becomes a great series simply because they offer so many vibrant colors and the pictures are very recognizable, unlike the puzzles offered within Hidden Clues. This is a griddler where each puzzle you solve is a clue, or evidence, which helps you solve the case. There are 12 different murder cases to solve and each case has 10 puzzles to solve to discover the Crime Scene, the Victim's name, the Victim's Age, the Victim's Gang, the Murder Weapon used, the Cause of Death, the Killer's Gang, the name of the Killer, the Killer's Role, and the Killer's Motive. I would like to see the colors become more vibrant, it would also be really nice if the pictures you create would make sense right away without having to read the description of the picture first. It would be nice if they added a few more colors and gave the puzzles some depth. I like the "detective case solving" scenario, so for that aspect I would like that to stay as is because there's really nothing out there quite like it, enjoy! July 12, 2016
Better than others I am a very experienced nonogram player. This game has a little more challenge than the others in this series. I would recommend this game to beginners too. The tutorial is very good. Storyline is OK if that is what you are looking for. July 12, 2016
The Dog is so Ugly it's Cute I like this game, and it is going into the buy list. Not many games do anymore. However, I'm not going to mislead anyone about what a good game this is. It has a lot of flaws. Spelling is one of them. I never point out grammatical errors or typos or bad spelling. However, when you're paying for something, you expect them to be able to spell things. For example, "caucatian". It made me chuckle and added more fun to the game for me, especially since I'm caucasian, but that sort of thing would drive a grammarian nuts. Another issue is, what is this stuff? They have some finished nano images that I simply can't figure out -- even when they tell me. One revealed clue was "section signs". I have no idea what that is, and I couldn't guess from the finished puzzle. I guess it's something Google Translate came up with. I have as much fun trying to figure out what the nano is supposed to be as I have doing the nano. I've bought all of these. They're not that great, really, but they sure are fun. (In unexpected and unintentional ways.) If you don't mind confusing puzzle images, bad spelling and odd word choices, then this game might just be for you. July 12, 2016
