Spirit of Revenge: Florry's Well Collector's Edition is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from BELIEVE HALF OF WHAT YOU SEE AND NOTHING WHAT YOU HEAR! Masters of art, Vendel Games brings the 4th in their Spirit of Revenge series. Although minus the usual bells and whistles, game was packed full of challenge, good puzzles, great hidden object scenes, interesting plot and sometimes difficult morphing objects to spot. I was short three morphing items tried as I might. No achievements or ability to replay puzzles or hidden object scenes which was no bother. The game stands on it's own two feet in excellence which I prefer rather than time consuming frills. No annoying music and gamers do have a some times helper Oscar who is glad to help for an alcoholic beverage or two. Only the best for Oscar! Appreciate Vendel Games Developers for all their dedication and hard work. Especially liked their self-portraits that added a personal touch. Spirit of Revenge are one of my top favorite games! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-

Rated 5 out of 5 by from someone's angry and with good reason... What would you do, if your best friend stole your loved one? Or if your peaceful pub, all of the sudden got attacked by an otherwise friendly spirit? Too many questions eh? Well, this game is beautifully crafted, with strong game play, ghosts flying around and helping you and an even better bonus story that puts everything under the right perspective: friendship above all. Hear, hear! Only remark: the game length-wise could be longer and with more scenes to explore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Enjoyable Game In This Series .... Great Graphics, Sound, Effects, Animations, Story, Voice & Video Bits ... There Seems To Be A Bit Of An All Round Uplift To The Quality & Visual Styling In This Addition To This Series And It Made For A Very Enjoyable Play ... Nothing Really New In The HOG's, Etc. But A Nice Mixed Bag ... Not Very Many Locations ... The Bonus Chapter Was A Nice Conclusion Albeit A Little On The Short Side ... Excellent Value Game If You Get It On A Special Deal ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DING DONG BELL – FLORRY’S STUCK IN A WELL - A WHIMSICAL DELIGHTFUL GAME 4 CHAPTERS PLUS A BONUS CHAPTER - REVIEW BASED ON THE DEMO PLUS PART OF CHAPTER 3 OVERVIEW: Pack up your ghostbusting gear along with earplugs and protective gear and head to England to investigate a “ghost gone wild” in this “phantasmic” 5-star game. I LOVE this whimsical delight! For once, I think Vendel may have a super hit on their hands with this game. This is an “easy breezy” game which is just fun to play. This game contains some witty moments with low-key “humour.” The game script is well-written. The graphics are cartoon-like show a vast improvement for Vendel. The addition of the ghostly drunken sot as a helper provides a wee bit of “humour” to this game. The HOP scenes and puzzles are creatively done and fit the theme of this story. You collect signs. There are no achievements. It is seldom we get a truly entertaining, comical game. However, it is a SHORT game! STORY: You play Brenda Gale, a psychic detective called in by your former boss, a police detective who has just purchased a haunted pub. However, there will be no peace this side of heaven until you deal with the likes of Florry, the tempestuous ghost! It seems to me that this little pub “be needing” an exorcism by the likes of a Father O’Malley instead of a psychic investigator. This local ghost, Flossy is on a rampage, looking for revenge against a “mighty fine little red-headed lass!” But why? Accompanying you into the world of “spirits,” is a ghostly sot, Oscar Quincy, who will more than willing to help you for the price of another drink! Actually, I thought the “helper,” another ghost, looked surprisingly like Edgar Alan Poe, another man who also liked his “spirits.” As you investigate you are facing more questions than answers. Was Flossy a loose woman, carrying on with no good philanderer while her husband was away at war? Did her husband “do her in” and throw her into a well when he returned from the war? And how does a dear sweet little red headed lass fit into all of this? Does she remind Florry of someone? You better be watching out for flying objects dealing with Florry. HOP SCENES: The HOP scenes are very creative. They are varied and the one thing I like about them is that they are interactive. In most of the HOP scenes you will not only locate items, but also use them to interact with the scene. The very first scene requires you to create a type of drink for your loveable drunken helper, but it only adds to “humour” and delight of this game. Most of the scenes in the portion of the game I played are interactive lists of items or silhouette. PUZZLES: So well-done and creative! There are more puzzles than HOP scenes and they are not only varied, but also, include some new puzzles we have not seen before. They are all easy. My favorite puzzle was a matching puzzle in which you must place couples together (just as in real life with E-Harmony) according to their preferences. I LOVED that puzzle. Although it is not difficult, it is a fun activity – even more so seeing what is available in the “dating pool” for that quaint little village! Other puzzles from the demo include a multiple-step one using a storybook, a gear puzzle, a math puzzle, a weights and balance puzzle, rotating tiles puzzle, matching puzzle, sequence puzzle, and switch puzzle. After the demo there is a maze puzzle (which I found hard to maneuver), a logic puzzle, and a Simon Says puzzle. FAVORITE MOMENT: My favorite segment of the game was the budding romance-in-bloom between an Italian confectioner and a writer/horticulturist. And, of course, our stereotypical chubby little “novelist” is hiding behind an awesome pair of large, horn rimmed glasses working away diligently behind her typewriter. Your liquored up helper will assist in this budding romance by helping you translate old French poetry as a gift from the candy maker to his own sweet lady love. So comical! LEVELS: Casual, Advanced, Hard, Custom Hints and Skips: 15 to 300 seconds EXTRAS: Map is given to you as you play the game Collect 44 signs Strategy guide - 33 pages 6 Wallpaper, Music, Video clips HERE ARE THE DETAILS (SPOILERS) FOR THOSE WANT MORE INFORMATION ON THE HOP SCENES AND MINI-PUZZLES IN SEQUENCE: HOP SCENES: A. Rated 4 out of 5 by from I liked it I never write reviews but this game was fun it was also funny . Im not one to pay attention much to graphics or accents I just want a game I can play that is not filled with demons or devils. I dont mind a ghost or two. I would go with the SE because I got the CE on sale but their is really nothing to different about the CE. I see its on SE now I wish I would have waited a few weeks to get it but the game play is fine for me I like a game that makes me laugh.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from SPIRIT OF REVENGE 4 TAKES A DIFFERENT DIRECTION IN THE SERIES... I am a big fan of this continuing series yet I didn't think this edition measured up to previous ones. Once again, you are tasked with a paranormal case. The Red Dragon pub is haunted by a vengeful ghost. It's up to you to begin investigating why. You also get assistance with your investigation when you give drinks to the town drunk (LOL). The spirit is a woman by the name of Florry, who was killed by her husband (drowned in a well, as said), the next wife of this man covered him by telling, the missing wife would have fled town together with her lover, now Florry wants her revenge. You soon discover motives and the back story of this husband is horrific and more than enough to keep you playing to discover who to save, and HOW to save the day. While the story plot is new and exciting I can't say the same about the graphics and the special effects. Hand drawn graphics doesn't seem to work with this game, other reviewers have already commented on. The CE bling has already been described and the bonus game while fun, doesn't add anything to the main story. I remain a fan of the series even though I personally thought previous editions were executed with flawless graphic, effects, and game play. When you demo the game you will have completed enough of the adventure to decide on purchasing. I really liked the story I just wanted more from HOS, Puzzles, Graphics, voices, and game play.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from AH, QUINCY MY GOOD FELLOW…ANOTHER DRINK? - Based on completed game- A good game set in England. I liked a lot of the characters in this, especially the charming, aristocratic, alcoholic helper Quincy, and the driver in the red bus who turns up intermittently and doesn’t seem to follow a real schedule! The question is, why is Florry the ghost creating havoc, throwing things around and attacking residents? Mostly your work will require you to stay in the village, but you will get to venture out to the watermill and local park garden too. One of those games that draws you in at the beginning but then plateaus out. The environment, people and objects are a mish-mash of past and present. The characters and storyline were interesting enough for me to want to complete the game. GRAPHICS: OK, but NOT GREAT. For 2 reasons, although in some places the graphics are great, in other places they are strangely flat and lacking depth. NOT MUCH LIGHT FOR A MODERN GAME! Yes it’s evening, but there needed to be more highlights of sunlight or moonlight, or lamps to make the graphics pop! I’m really glad that there are no crazy colors though  HOPS: About 12 interactive. OK. Not stunning to look at. Oooh! There are 2 food HOPS. About 6 more in the CE bonus game, if you get the CE. PUZZLES: A few, mixed ability. SOUNDS: 4 options. The music is very good, and the environmental sounds are good too. HINT: 30 seconds on casual. Watch out! You might get a window where you can scroll up n’ down or even side-to-side. However, you won’t that! There are no indicators to tell you that, so you’ll just have to try. DIFFICULTY LEVELS: Usual 4 options MAP: Travel INVENTORY: Lockable JOURNAL: Yes, but not much in there. CHARACTERS: An interesting mix. CE BONUS GAME: If you get the CE, the story is very good, and there are more HOPS, closer together. The graphics however, remain the same and disappointing. The bonus game revolves around the mystery of the ghost Quincy. CE MORPHING OBJECTS: I found the morphing objects particularly difficult to spot, and got just under half of them! Well, have fun in Avebury, Wiltshire…and good luck on your assignment, Detective!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Yes, we have ghosts! Hi all! Been waiting for this one since I beta tested it a while back. The graphics are very nice and clear. Colors are bright and true for a change. Game play was excellent, no problems at all and it fit my large screen. Music was rather soothing and nice, considering we are dealing with ghosts. Animation was very well done. I really liked the voice overs, age and character appropriate and they actually showed emotion. There really isn't much in the way of sound FX, but I didn't really miss them either. We do have a helper, who seems to have a bit of a drinking problem. He only helps when you get him something to drink, and I don't mean water. Half way though the game, he's going to be too sloshed to help anyone at this rate. HOPs are a combination of interactive lists and find a part and use it in the scene. Items are not difficult to find and the scenes are fairly clear. I didn't see that there was anything else you could switch to on this one. Puzzles were not too many during the demo, and were quite simple. Hint system is very helpful and it does transport you as well. Not a tremendous amount of back tracking, but some. The only collectibles I found are morphing items. If this is all there is, it is quite disappointing. The item morphs quite quickly. I'm not sure why I like this game. It is not challenging, nor is it a new or different story. Maybe it's the ghost idea. I don't know, but I do like it and I will be adding it to my collection of CE games. I think most all levels of players would find this one interesting for one reason or another. As always, try it for yourself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and you may not care for this one at all. Thanks for the review.
