What a gem The graphics are a little rough compared to the big name developers but everything else is much better. Hidden object scenes are challenging but not frustrating and there are some new and clever puzzles that I'm enjoying. And even though the plot isn't terribly original, it's presented in an interesting way. I love finding stand alone SE games and this one is great. October 5, 2016
love hidden objects Just a quick mention of this hidden object game...I have really enjoyed playing this game the story is gr8 along with the graphics... will be wanting to purchase this one!!!!! And will be looking for more from this creator!!! I recommend this game for all family members October 4, 2016
The Soul Reaver I just loved this Game. Being an older player it fitted the Bill. Its been a while since I have bought a Game as well, not many up my street. So far, nothing from Out of Space as tried to get me, or Monsters etc. Just a nice easy game for those who want one. And yes it maybe alittle old school, but some of us like that! October 4, 2016
Brought Back A Little Bit Of Retro Nostalgia Okay, I'll admit that this game is very retro, and very old fashioned, but I was kinda diggin' it. It brought back some nostalgic memories of yesterdays games, when Hidden Object games were a bit lame but we couldn't get enough of 'em and then the games began to evolve. There isn't a lot of logic presented at times and the graphics are mediocre but that's okay, the storyline is lame, but that's okay too. What I did like about this game was the abundance of HOP's and Puzzles, not the hard, rip out your hair to solve kind, the old school kind that are easy, relaxing and entertaining. The Hidden Object Scenes are in abundance in the first few scenes, but then they dwindle a bit as more and more puzzles are introduced so don't get discouraged. There are a variety of types, Interactive List, Interactive Progressive Silhouetted Shapes, Matching Pair finds, and even Multiples of one type. They are actually pretty decent. The Mini Games soon take over the game and as I said before, they are fairly easy to figure out, but entertaining. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo: 1) Put plates into the correct order similar to matching up dominoes. 2) Put the fragment pieces onto the broken dragon. 3) Set the clock hands according to the clue. 4) Open the lock by inserting the correct keys into the keyholes. 5) Prepare the smelling salts by mixing ingredients in the correct order. 6) Move items to slide the crowbar to the exit in a game similar to blocks. 7) Select pairs of matching tiles in a game of mahjong. 8) Reassemble a torn picture. 9) Enter the correct code on the lock. 10) Place the tokens in the correct order inside the lock according to the shapes. 11) Place color coded gears and nuts correctly. 12) Move the petals to the correct positions, which light up when placed correctly. 13) Slide the objects around to find something useful. This game certainly won't win any awards, but it certainly is worthy of a credit voucher if you are looking for an easy but relaxing game to play. My first thought was that this was an old game revamped on this site, however from what I can tell this game was released in August of this year so I think the devs intended for this to be a retro game, enjoy! A GREAT GAME IF YOU WANT TO STEP BACK INTO YOUR GAMING PAST Take a step back into the past ? your gaming past that is, particularly if you have been around long enough to play every HOG released before 2010. Dark Chronicles: The Soul Reaver will take you back to a time before voiceovers and all of the pizzazz that current HOPA games provide. The graphics are okay and I was surprised that the game included a custom mode ? something I didn?t expect. Another surprise is that the game does include an interactive map. The HOS are interactive BUT they are mostly the silhouette type although there is some variety. For instance, there is a scene where you must find so many of one type of item and there is also a matching scene where you find pairs of objects. My biggest complaint with the HOS is that the items are so small they are difficult to find and not only are they small we have the old style junk piles. Unfortunately, I had to use the hint button a lot more than I like because I was simply stuck finding some miniscule items. This is the first time I found myself wishing that the HOS had a skip button or at least offered an alternate to searching for items. The mini-games are easy and entertaining and I find I am enjoying those much more than the HOS. As I have been playing through the game I began to wonder if this game has been sitting on a shelf somewhere and perhaps BFG thought it would be good to offer it on a Tuesday. In the end my feelings about the game are mixed but since I had a coupon about to expire, I decided to go ahead and get the game. Perhaps on a rainy day when I have nothing else to play, I might just decide I need a bit of frustration so I will tackle the HOS in The Soul Reaver. This is not a glowing recommendation for the game given my frustration with the HOS but there are many things about the game that are very good including the mini-games and lovely, fantasy graphics. All in all, the game is far better than some of the dusty shelf-sitters that BFG has released in the past. If you want to experience a trip back in time then you might really enjoy this game but please try the demo first. October 4, 2016
A good time-passer This is based on part of the demo. There are four modes of play: casual, advanced, expert and custom. The game is played in first person mode. The graphics are pretty good; there is text for voices. Quite a few HOS, but they are interactive, using outlines of things to find. Some are hard to find, but you have a hint button. October 4, 2016
A step back in time. A few years ago I would have found this game a challenge when I was a novice but regardless I enjoyed it even though I felt cheated moneywise as it's on the short side. October 4, 2016
Woefully short in length I enjoyed the game but found it to be incredibly short. I'm sure glad that I didn't pay the regular price for it as I would have felt shortchanged. Ended far too quickly but was good while it lasted. I've been thinking recently that most of the new games are shorter and shorter in length. October 4, 2016
PLEASANT EASY GOING GAME BRINGS BACK MEMORIES OF OLD I did enjoy this game, simply because it was made like the game developers used to make them, and back then it was top of the line stuff. It is a true hidden object game with lots of HOPs. The challenge was fine but the visuals were a bit amateurish and so was the music. The storyline made no sense to me and, while I love to read, reading the entire story was tiresome with no voice overs. Still, the demo was enjoyable and flowed easily, but I will not be buying this one. I recommend it for beginners. Thanks, Mia October 5, 2016
Way to simple for my taste It was a cute game, but zero challanges. I would recommend for 12 or younger October 10, 2016
