Dead Reckoning: Snowbird's Creek Collector's Edition 3.5 5 28 28
Wonderfull! Good game for a change, something more normal. A murder, yes, and a missing person. No devils, demons, etc.. Graphics and voices are perfect. Worth all the pennies!! August 27, 2016
SNOWBIRD'S CREEK IS AN EXCELLENT GAME FOR FANS OF DEAD RECKING A bit of divergence from my normal habit of posting a review based on the game demo as this time I have completed the game and the bonus game before writing my review. I understand that many don?t like what they consider cookie-cutter games and it seems that some of the luster has faded from this developers overall popularity. However, I loved this game and at least for me, it is one of the best in the Dead Reckoning series. I rarely play the bonus chapter in a game since I am usually bored by the time I complete the regular game but not so with Snowbird?s Creek. In addressing the sameness of most HOPA games, the format is that we look for objects, use those objects, play a mini-game and follow a storyline. This is the basis for the genre and it is not often that we see something different. You either love HOPA games or you don?t. It is the same with all of the TM games I have played ? there is not much that differs from game to game. The storyline is excellent and consistent without a lot of jumping all over the place so it is fairly easy to follow. What I happened to love about the game is that it wasn?t super easy to get started and always figure out what needed to be found to move forward. Some of the found items were used creatively and on more than one occasion I said ?why didn?t I think of that? after I used a hint. In Snowbird?s Creek the HOPA scenes were excellent and I am always hooked into finding those morphing objects. I felt that one scene was a bit different than usual but I am a true fan of the genre and love searching for objects so I don?t always need something different. I found most of the items to be easily identifiable and even when a scene was done with silhouettes, those were clearly depicted so the items were not overly hard to find. Yes, the mini-games were fairly easy but some were more challenging. However, most of them were excellent and not the type where you toggle switches. The information for completing the puzzles was clear so at least when I was stuck I had a good idea where to begin. The CE package is very good with collectibles, morphing objects, achievements, a strategy guide, bonus chapter, souvenir room, other goodies and the ability to replay the HOPs and mini-games. This developer is one of my favorites and almost always presents an excellent, well put together HOPA game. Yes, they may be a bit cookie-cutter to some but at least this developer strives to excel when presenting a game. As I mentioned earlier I loved this game and am now looking forward to the next offering from this team. Please try the demo to see if this is a game you will enjoy. August 28, 2016
It is Deserving of 5-Stars I truly enjoyed the game, played it twice. The storyline was a refreshing change from the weird fantasy type games. Loved the Alaska frontier setting. Liked the puzzles. August 29, 2016
Great game! Really liked this game! Lovely graphics, interesting theme. Not too challenging, but definitely entertaining. It was great to play a game which wasn't a haunted hotel or some other spooky place...getting really bored of them. September 3, 2016
Interesting Story Line with Gorgeous Scenery I was thoroughly entertained by this and got absorbed into catching the bad guy. Some reviewers complained that the HOPs were not very challenging, but I rather like that: I want to have to look a bit, but not to the point that I feel like shoving my fist through the monitor in frustration because I can't find the stupid thing they want me to click on. Anyway, it is so colorful and flows so well that time went by while I was not paying attention, which is good when I need something to keep me from being bored. I like this series, and was glad to see a new game was release. September 4, 2016

Dead Reckoning 5 delivers another great adventure! I am a big fan of Eipix and their Dead Reckoning series and I have shared with my impressions on the previous game in the series. Now, the developers have a new treat for us in the series, under the name of Dead Reckoning: Snowbird?s Creek. I will start by saying what I like to say each time I play a new game in this series: Eipix have done it again! The story manages to be different enough to what we?re usually getting from hidden object adventures, and this is a great thing. In Dead Reckoning: Snowbird?s Creek, you?re investigating the murder of a railroad tycoon who had a lot of enemies because he was planning to build a train line through the small town of Snowbird?s Creek, a charming even though cold, little town caught by the Gold Rush fever. The story is nice and comes as a breath of fresh air compared to stories of other recent HOPAs and it also unfolds nicely, even though you will do quite a bit of back-tracking during your adventure. This game is a real adventure, true to previous Dead Reckoning titles and you?ll have more puzzles and walking around than clicking through hidden object scenes, but fortunately the HOS that we get are of high quality. There are also morphing objects but they tend to morph relatively fast, so always be on the lookout for them! The scenes have a nice design with the items easy to locate and no eye problems afterwards. The puzzles and minigames are also nice and, even though most of them are on the easy side, you?ll get a few head scratchers as well. All in all, a good mix with high quality, even though I would never say no to more hidden object scenes. If you don?t agree with me, you can always switch from playing the HOS to match three games. One of the solid points in Dead Reckoning: Snowbird?s Creek is the visual impact that the game has, even though there are moments where graphics seem a bit washed up and blurry. But overall, the visuals are just great and you will enjoy exploring the frozen village and its surroundings. The soundtrack is also pretty good, adapting to the current situation and adding value to the entire experience. And I am extremely happy that it?s summer outside and a great, hot weather, because this game really brings a bit of the cold with its atmosphere and great graphics. The Collector?s Edition has an extra chapter for added gameplay experience, plus all the goodies that we expect from the premium edition: achievements, a trophy room, an included Strategy Guide, 13 morphing objects and so on. Nothing extra compared to regular Collector?s Editions, but enough value to make it worth the purchase but so is the Standard Edition. All in all, for fans of the Dead Reckoning series, Snowbird?s Creek is a must play. For everybody else, this will prove to be a good game, with a nice focus on the adventure side. The storyline comes as an added bonus, so do give this a try as soon as possible, use a free game coupon even!!! September 25, 2016
Nice simple game with good story. Hi all! Well, we have #5 in this series. The graphics are done quite well, except I did notice a bit of a blur in the scenes where you talk to characters. Not too bad, but still there. Colors are very bright and true. Game play was excellent, with no problems during the demo. Voice overs are well done and are age and character appropriate. They show emotion and not just someone reading a script. Music is done nicely and moves with whatever is happening at the time. There isn't a lot of animation in this one, but what there is,is done well. Be prepared to do a lot of back-tracking in this game, and I do mean a lot. Because of this, the game seems to move a bit slowly. However, you are constantly on the move. Very nice sound FX. HOPs are just straight lists and items are not difficult to find. You do need to find a morphing object in each of the 13 HOPs. They morph fairly quickly, so be on the lookout. You can switch to a match 3 if you get bored with the HOPs. There seem to be more puzzles than HOPs in this one, but they are quite simple and nothing new. Jump map is rather bland and boring. I find it faster to just use the transport feature we have within the hint system. Hint is mostly helpful, but occasionally is tells you to just move on. The only collectibles I found are what looks like a gold fish trophy, and we need to find 40. They aren't all that difficult to find, but a few are somewhat hidden and of different sizes...still easy to spot. This was a big disappointment. It just needed something extra. I like this series, and even though this one was not challenging, there is something about it that makes me want to get it. I was a little confused as to what era we were playing in. We have the gold rush, an old 1800's type town, vehicles and clothing from the 1900's and a speed boat. See my confusion? All in all, not a bad game and I do like the story line. Yes, I will add this one to my collection. I think most levels of players will enjoy this one for one reason or another. As always, try it for yourself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and you may not care for this one at all. Thanks for the reviews. August 27, 2016
