Dark Realm: Lord of the Winds Collector's Edition is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 40.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent production values This is my 3rd Dark Realm game, and I have been very impressed with this series. The production values are very high, from crisp, beautifully drawn graphics with amazing detail (I use a magnifying glass sometimes for HOS, and the detail is impressive), to gorgeous music and great voice work. The level of challenge is very good and the story flows well and keeps the player's interest. I'm looking forward to more games in this series (Duchess of Darkness? Earl of Enchantment?).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Talk about betraying one's trust! I don't even have to finish this CE version to report that I love everything about this game! The variety of the interactive hidden object scenes, the game-flow, the special effects, the artistry is magnificent, the music is grand. Wow! what a game! It may sound like a cop-out but I'll leave the storyline and all this CE has to offer. But I like concentrating on the things I often mention, which is more important to me. The graphics are so crisp and it's a pleasure looking for objects within each beautiful scene. The voiceovers are excellent and I'll tell you some of those characters are quite handsome, to say the least! Loving this game! I look forward to going back in and playing it each time! The strategy of the game is, at best, top notch. There is one task where you have to find a large lens but to shut off the magic or electricity, you must obtain a handle. I had the handle already in my inventory but I had to adjust it somewhat to make it fit. That's what I'm talking about here--everything seemed to flow the way I like it--the tasks have rhymes to its reasons and for me that's a necessary component for a successful game. I wish more developers would catch on! Story is intelligently written; great map, helping objects, you name it, and you've got the guide if need be. I always customize my games and turn off sparkles and what not. So the more difficult the level, obviously, the harder the game. One of the mini-games requires us to match symbols--not difficult to do--but very challenging to accomplish. I'm a little cross-eyed at the moment, but I'll be getting back to that shortly. LOL! For me, this game by Mad Head Games is a 5-star. These developers know what they're doing and they are to be commended for their excellence. These developers have paid attention to the reviews and expounded on them. Without question, this is one of the best games I've played in a while! I highly recommend it! Mad Headers, you're awesome!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from and beautiful gorgeous Dark Realm MadHead are just brilliant at each and every game they make. The graphics are fantastic, crisp & clear: the music is divine, the voices are perfect , the gameplay is just a joy. Morphs and collectibles abound. I have not yet finished this game but I see looming my worst thing in a game - a monster !! I do wish they would get rid of monsters. I hate them !! Why not just some evil guy/girl wanting money/power etc like in real life?? However, apart from the dreaded monsters this is just another fantastic game from these devs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Queen Valera is awesome!! I have only played 15 minutes and already know I'm going to purchase. The graphics are amazing and the story line starts off with so much excitement but it doesn't leave you confused on what's going on like many I have played in which you have to play for an hour to figure out whats going on. It does leave you wondering who is behind the betrayal... which is exactly what I want in a game. Can't wait to finish. I know this one won't let me down cause I have the first 2 Dark Realm games. Loved them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from There is a Strong Wind Hey this was tip top fantastic game. Collect feathers, look for Morphing objects in the HO's, Puzzles were easy breezy, Good Characters, very nice game flow, Good Cut Scenes, and even some critter action. Love the pace and play out of this game and want more. Map was very helpful in decided where to work once in the territory of the Heart of the wind. Goes to tipy top of the to buy list and a good contender for game of the year award.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Game Is The Perfect Example Of What I've Been Saying Lately! The last several reviews I have submitted have been one and two star ratings. I talked about how lame some of the games from the top dog producers have been, how, in my opinion they are releasing games at a wicked fast pace and seemingly not caring about the quality of entertainment the games provide. I also stated that some of the "lesser known" series are ramping up their game as they try to compete with the well known series, and are producing some really good games that are highly entertaining. Dark Realm: Lord of the Winds by Mad Head games, is EXACTLY what I've been saying, quality through and through! Is this game perfect? No, there's always room for improvement, but it is very entertaining, has really good graphics, and offers a variety of HOP's and Mini Games. Queen Valera has made a very important decision, one that could endanger the entire Kingdom and it's peaceful citizens. Queen Valera has offered a Peace Treaty with it's long time rivaling neighbor kingdom ruled by King Harlon. She knows how dangerous it is, but she must lower the protective shield to allow King Harlon to enter so the treaty can be signed. King Harlon offers Queen Valera a gift, but as soon as she opens the chest, a powerful force attacks the Queen, taking her breath away, literally, removing her life force! Both sides panic, both sides begin blaming each other, but the Queen is dying! Queen Valera's best friend and right hand man, Nathaniel, offers to exchange places with the Queen, giving her his breath, so she may live, and save the Kingdom. A local healer is able to exchange the curse, and slow down the process on Nathaniel to buy some time, until the cure can be found. Queen Valera must travel to the Wind Colossus, to reverse the affects of this powerful orb, to save not only Nathaniel, but hopefully, stop the war between the two Kingdoms and establish peace going forward! Nathaniel has given the Queen his Bow, this is no ordinary Bow, this Bow has unlimited and powerful abilities. The first of many Arrows you have, allows you to retrieve anything the arrow hits. The Arrow will return along with the item that the arrow hit, but of course, there's a Mini Game involved with each use. Each time you use the Bow, you will play a variation of "Blocks" where you move blocks until the arrow has a clear path, each game becomes increasingly more difficult to solve as more blocks are added to the board. Eventually, you will find other arrows that have special abilities, an Arrow that has explosives, and one that freezes it's target, others are added after the demo. This Collector's Edition has bonus features such as 35 Hidden Feathers, one in each scene, Achievements to earn and a Morphing Object in each Hidden Object Scene. The Hidden Object Scenes are fairly entertaining, which Mad Head is well known for. They have very interesting scenes with Silhouetted Shape finds, Interactive List finds, and even Keywords or Symbol find during a story. One of my favorite scenes is finding shapes that are carved on the Ship's Wheel, turning clockwise or counter clockwise to steer the ship by finding the symbols shown in the center, one at a time. The Mini Games are also entertaining, not to easy, but not too difficult either. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo: 1) The Bow and Arrow game of Blocks requiring you to move blocks until the arrow has a straight path to travel from the bottom to the top. 2) Select and rotate the blue rings to create a continuous line for the energy to flow through. Selecting one ring may affect the others. 3) Move sliders to aim the cannon both up and down and left and right, that select the fire bottom to shoot. 4) Find and fill in the shapes indicated on the pillars with corresponding colors. Select the stone shapes to enable or block flow of color. Fill shapes with color by pressing gems. 5) Guide the light through the maze by selecting empty highlighted circles to move the beam of light. 6) Select and guide the ball through the maze without touching the path walls. This Collector's Edition has 12 Concept Art pictures, 18 Wallpapers, 5 Music Soundtracks, 17 replayable Hidden Object Scenes, Collectible Hunt games, Constellations Mini Games, 14 Achievements, 35 Hidden Collectible Feathers, Morphing Objects within the Hidden Object Scenes, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Something with a little bit of a twist The graphics were great Items easy to see. There is a map.The sound was excellent. I found myself stopping the game play to just listen. Lately I am finding more attention to the sound which I applaud. I used to have to turn off the sound or just play my own music while I played the game. There is a nice twist to the plot. I sort of thought something like it was going to happen but had no idea who it would be. If there is any criticism it is that it is a little too easy sometimes. The pace is fast and insistent which I enjoy. Overall an enjoyable game with some interesting characters.
