Summer in Italy is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved this game, but too short!!!!! I wish this game had lasted longer--10 chapters/cities to visit instead of 4. The VO is on the slow side, unnecessarily so. The storyline is beyond corny. The music is terrible (think elevator), but grew on me at the end. Besides all those flaws, I loved the format of the game and hope the devs can improve on the start of a promising series. You get a mix of match 3 (the only M3 game I have played in which the levels got EASIER at the end than at beginning, maybe my skills improved dramatically), jigsaw puzzles, collectible souvenirs in a suitcase, a shelf of spices, fruit salad hidden match-2, hidden object junk pile scenes, and concocting various Italian dishes. The artwork is beautiful, and like any good vacation, I wish it didn't have to end.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice follow up to Spring in Japan I enjoyed this just as much as the Japan version, the graphics etc are good, there is variety in the method of matching, fogs, things to collect, powerups, tasks. & mini games. The music, explosions & sound effects are all rather gentle/soothing - you could of course turn the music down if it gets a bit monotonous, although it does change periodically - what more could I want!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mama Mia! I have only bought one other Match-3 based game since joining BF, and I ended up not enjoying that one because it would waggle and mimic swapping tiles if I didn't keep moving, seemed to ramp up the activity level, and had a lot of things to remember. Normally, I stick to adventure and HOP games, but have always hoped to find a game that would give me all the HOPs and puzzles minus all the running around, interaction with characters, and complex storylines for a change of pace. This one checks all the boxes for me. While not an overly long game, it is a pleasant way to spend some time without feeling hurried or nagged. In style, it is reminiscent of the Big City Vacation games...a bit cartoonish, bright, cheerful colors, no characters moving around. The storyline is simple and straightforward, and you get little factoids about the locations, souvenirs and herbs you collect. It has nice music, but I wish the occasional central character's voice could be muted. This isn't a strictly Match-3 game either; there are HOPs, puzzles, and little challenges mixed in, which I enjoyed to break up the need to strictly focus on game tiles. I played in easy mode and moved along at a comfortable pace. I also like that it doesn't try and suggest which tiles could be swapped if you sit without doing anything...I like to figure out my own strategy, thank you very much! This game is fine for everyone. Try the demo and see if it is a fit for you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Second leg of our journey This is the second of this series, the first being Springtime in Japan. This game has more to offer than the first one. I enjoy the different mini games this one has to offer. Some levels are a bit tricky but over all not that bad. If you liked spring in Japan this one is much better

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Game The graphics are so bright and cheery in this delightful Match 3 game. It offers a good variety of beautiful, relaxing games, in addition. The match 3 board is colorful with lovely tiles that are easy to see and the game isn't cluttered with a lot of exploding things and power-ups to keep track of. It has just the right amount to keep it fun with average challenge. This will be a game I will reach for when I just want to have some nice quiet time with my cat and my coffee. Faith....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from simple fun This game is fun. It is not difficult. There are lots of power ups to help you on your way. There are little mini games as you go along. No it is not a big challenge but it is relaxing and easy. I enjoyed it. My only negative is that the whole game is way too short. It can be played in a couple hours so maybe not worth buying if you are looking for a game where you feel like you got your money's worth of play time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A game woth a lot of varations This game can be played at three different levels of difficulty from novice to experienced player. It graphics are colorful and interesting. A variety of puzzles types in one game. I would recommend it as a way to relax and mellow out in the lowest level or it can be fast paced in its upper levels.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from phoned it in This game is not near as good as spring in japan but is still a nice time waster for this old man when my arthritis keeps me from playing other games. Everything about this game seems like the developer just was not in the game. The graphics are not good, the mini games are not nearly as good. This is still good for an evening of mindless playing though. Sometimes I need to turn off my mind and just play.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 2011 called and they want this M3 back :) BASED ON COMPLETED DEMO When I first started this M3 my initial reaction was how small the 8 sq x 8 sq grid was compared to the rest of the screen. The graphics are SO pixelated that its a bit hard to read "menu" & "hint". I do play on a large monitor so that may be a factor. I spent a good deal of time in level 1- 3 before I realized the little caduceus on the bottom was a bomb once it was full. A couple of good things about this game. 1. The more I played the more fun it became for me. 2. Each level has a square in the center of the grid. In the first level its a wooden chest and you collect keys and when the meter is full you unlock the chest and obtain Pinocchio. He stayed in a colemn left side of game for a while. I found out when this game froze on me and I rebooted, there is a suitcase that holds these special items. Pinocchio had a small descriptive blurb to explain your collectable. Level 3 had a patch of grass in the middle and you collect shears to cut the grass. Since I didn't exit the game again, I didn't see what that collectable was. The voice actor is the type that overacts. It reminded me of a teen using a karaoke machine for the first time. Yea. Not pretty. I listed 4 of my M3 favorite here at BFG. 1. Jewel Match- Twilight 2. Lost in the Night 3. Fishdom- Seasons under the Sea 4. Queen's Garden: Halloween (I play it every Halloween) I thought, this is just an OK, M3 which is best played on a small device due to bad graphics.
