Rated 5 out of 5 by from ERS Rules! I honestly can't figure out what would be disappointing I loved it and I played it all including the bonus. the puzzles and mini games were great, loved the HOs. But i'm a bit bias because I can't get enough of the hand drawn graphics, this is my eye candy fix. I want the same old mansions and gates, I look forward to it, please don't change. these games are a must buy for me. you can keep your computer cities i'll take the hand drawn castles! Nobody creates people like ERS does and the voices are fantastic. i'm an expert but I still like to relax and enjoy. try it I hope you enjoy it too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic game in the Haunted Legend series Best by far thus far. Cannot believe some of the reviews here. If you liked the series, you'll love this one. Very good, if a tad, easy and diverse minigames. Great graphics and story line. Exellent voice overs. And VERY atmospheric. Pros: Very diverse and exiting minigames Exellent Graphics and sound Sublime Voiceovers Cons: Maybe some a wee bit easy minigames. But besides that nothing. Conclusion: One of the best casual games I have played thus far. In a all-time top 10, in my opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun Game and Not Boring for Us!!!!!! My granddaughters and I played the demo and we loved it!! It was fun to explore the new areas and see if anything would jump out at us. My granddaughters jumped away from the computer a few times! It is fun playing with them. We love the graphics in these games, they have really great artists! Some of the scenes were a little graphic but not too gruesome. We enjoyed the mini-games but had to skip 2 of them because they were too hard for me to figure out. Darn. The rest of them were easy enough that my granddaughters were able to help play. The H.O.S. were entertaining and fun. My granddaughters were excited when they saw the sparkles show up. We never used the map to jump around through the scenes because it was never very far to the next area to use something from the inventory. I remembered where most of the items go but my granddaughters are great at remembering every item. We didn't need to use the hint at all to figure out where to go next, it was very intuitive. The voices seemed to match the characters well and the characters are definitely eccentric. We like the short guy that shows up in this series. We enjoyed this game a lot and plan to purchase it to add to our collection. I love ERS games. They are one of my favorite developers! I think they are doing a bang-up job at creating fun and interesting games to play!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just a Beat Away Just a Beat away from having 5 stars. This game actually has a lot going for it and may be one of their best games in this series. The front page was nothing special but the types of puzzles they had were very fun. Some easy, some of them hard. Collect beautiful painted skulls, and snowflakes. Not sure what you can do with the snowflakes after you fill the pillar. Good inventory list, Great characters leaning on the side of comical. HO's I like those also and a good jump map. Also has a little bit of the boo factor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not THAT bad!! I won't go into the story or the 'mechanics' of the game; others have done that very well. What I will say is that I rather liked the game; it's certainly not as bad as some reviewers are saying. Although, games are all to do with personal taste. The ONLY thing I really hated about it was the Bonus Game. It's all about what happened BEFORE the story of the main game. It's a prequel...not a sequel or another story. I can't stand it when developers do this; I find it a waste of my money to buy the CE.....especially when you're paying for the extras i.e. the BG. I just don't understand their logic. I recommend the game, I did enjoy it but maybe just get the SE; unless of course you don't mind playing a BG that's really a prequel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice game of one historical series by ERS Wonderful graphics, not too difficult HOP, few collectibles, but I enjoyed the story and the game at all. Try before buying, it is relaxing funny game, fun for all the family, beatiful design. I do recommed this game

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pleasant Enough I usually agree with Sunnyglow, but this time we aren't on the same page. I played the demo most of the way through and found it to be a pleasant way to relax...not too challenging, but not so stupidly easy as to feel like I was playing a kids' game. While there was some back and forth, the map and the hint button made it not an issue for me; I always mute voices, so can't comment on them; I skip most dialog; I don't care about where or when most games are supposed to take place when they aren't true to the location and era, so I didn't pay attention to apparel or anachronisms within the game. The graphics were nice enough; the HOP items were (so far) named correctly and not so tiny or dark that they couldn't be found with a thorough search; some puzzles were easier than others. I play mostly for the graphics, ambiance, music and the HOPS and puzzles...even better if there are morphs, which there aren't in this game. It's a sale weekend, so I will buy this. Try the demo and see what you think.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay but not great... It was very short. Even as a collector's edition. The bonus features really weren't worth the extra money and the bonus chapter (such as it was) is just a prequel/back story to the mess that happened in the main game. At which point, one has to wonder why one would go through with it After seeing the mess that resulted from it. Realistically, even after the demo, the only reason I bought it was because I have purchased the rest of the series. But honestly? If you aren't into series collecting, I don't know if buying this really has a point. I could go through the game play and all but I'm sure there are much better authors of such details than I.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from DR. FRANKOLDGREYSTEIN There has been a murder committed at the Oldgrey Manor and the Minister of Interior has asked you to investigate. Why just one sentence? Because this game is completely and utterly boring. This game has nothing new to offer, it's the same as hundreds of other games available. The graphics are typical ERS hand drawn graphics, dark scenes, large manors, iron gates, locked doors, fireplaces burning, everything looks the same as all the other ERS games, same furniture, same time frame, same clothing styles, same dark ages, stuck in time era. To make matters worse, some of the characters are made to look like incompetent idiots, one officer is holding a live electrical wire and says "would you look at this" The father, Robert gets offended when you question him about nut shells on the floor, because he feels it's perfectly normal to throw them on the floor if he own the house. The chief of police panics when he hears commotion coming from a room with a locked door but can't figure out how to get get to them. After playing the demo, I've come to the conclusion that this murder is not worth solving. The storyline is always the same, you are a detective investigating a murder again, and you do very little investigating because you're too busy finding and mixing medical concoctions, and fixing broken and missing locks on every single door and gate in the manor, not to mention numerous trinkets, picture frames, first aid kits, ponds and boxes. How the family members survive without you is a mystery to me! There are two features in this game (and all other games ERS offers) that I absolutely despise. First of all, I have to play their games in a small windowed mode, because the game is so stretched on my large monitor that I cannot see important features on either side, including the options menu which I can only see the first couple of letters. Even in the HOP's there are often items on my list located on the edges that I would never find unless I shrink the screen size. I have mentioned this every time I beta test these games, but it never gets resolved. Secondly, the Hidden Object Scenes are always repeated at least once, and sometimes twice in the same place which is so boring, I wish there was an option to skip the HOP's! The Hidden Object Scenes are all the same, and probably always will be slightly Interactive List finds. There is usually a small puzzle available to solve to receive the final inventory item. They are so predictable, that I can find most of the items without even looking at the list! Once again, you will have to revisit the HOP scene at least once, which make the HOP's in this game even more boring. The Mini Games are nearly the same in every Haunted Legends game. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo: 1) Select lock pins in the correct order by trial and error. 2) Move the light projections to match the symbol on the stone. 3) Recreate the image by selecting and dragging puzzle slrips. 4) Fix a torn photo by correctly placing torn fragments. 5) Select gears in the correct order by trial and error. 6) Rotate tokens so that all symbols line up. This Collector's Edition has 16 replayable Mini Games, 23 Hidden Object Scenes, 9 Movies, 4 Music Soundtracks, 5 Screensavers, Concept Art pictures, Wallpapers, 11 Achievements to earn, 12 Collectible Skulls, Weather Stone collectibles (5 burning suns, 5 rain clouds, 5 snowflake symbols) a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter.
