Mystery Trackers: Queen of Hearts Collector's Edition is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from In this 12th Mystery Trackers game solve this paranormal crime and live up to the Mystery Trackers’ reputation! I have all the Mystery Trackers series so I had to have this edition too. Mystery Trackers: Queen of Hearts Collector's Edition takes you to the small town of Brightfield, a pleasant village where things have mysteriously taken a complication for the worse. Apparently, the fine folks of Brightfield have been plagued by some kind of an odd illness that is turning them into diseased monsters. Can you travel to Brightfield and get behind the cause of this viral disease? You really have no choice or you too will succumb to the infection and become a monster yourself. Check it out whenever you get a chance. If decide this adventure intrigues you the Collector’s Edition, offers an extra bag of treats waiting for you. There is a really exciting bonus chapter at the end in which you can assist the Brightfield police as they hunt down a dangerous criminal. You can replay your favorite minigames and puzzles time and time again, and as you advance in the game you can pick up hidden collectibles and unlock achievements along the way. Much fun! And, if you happen to get stuck somewhere in the gameplay, you can ‘cheat’ and use the integrated Strategy Guide to help you figure out where to go next. I would also like to add that reviews of "Demo Play Only' can sometimes do a disservice to the game in it's entirety. I enjoyed this edition from beginning to end and onto the bonus game. Fans of the series are going to enjoy adding to this to their Mystery Trackers collection. If you are new to the series, this is a good place to start. I recommend to players of all levels...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mystery Trackers always makes me smile. This game is fun!!! I almost did not buy the game due to early reviews. Because I have enjoyed the series in the past I decided to do the demo. So glad I did... it is fun! There is something so comforting about the consistency of this series. I always feel I am going back to play with characters I know and like. Alf is a hoot. He is the only animal helper I like. He does the funniest things. For example there is a scruffy, mean cat in one room just waiting to make trouble. So when we need an item the cat is blocking. We call on Alf, thinking he will bark and scare the cat away. But no ... Alf shows more flare than that. He climbs to a height above the cat and drops a big metal bowl on him trapping the cat. You can hear the cat underneath growling. it was so unexpected I laughed out loud. So clever! This game is funny, light hearted and a joy to play. Team what works on this game has quite a sense of humor. As usual the detail in the scenes is incredible. It is very cold here so the snow fit right in to what my own surroundings look like. Every detail is there. Look for things like foot prints in the snow, and more, things that don't add to the story but make the scenes so real. I love that, it is a creative delight. The other thing I love is the feedback sound effects. MT has used the same sounds since the very beginning. I love the solid feedback sounds when we choose an item or touch things etc. All great details that make it fun and interesting to play. I know there are some less than positive reviews but I urge you to give this game a try. I am so glad I did. I hope you enjoy it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from IT'S A HEART-BREAKER!!! OH WOW!! Mystery Trackers are back to their excellent entertainment. Since I've had to batten down the hatches here at home, it seems only appropriate that as an agent for Mystery Trackers I should be dropped in a town knee deep in snow. With my loyal partner at my side we are off to find the mad scientist and save the town from changing into monsters. But this time of year with the snow and the holidays everyone seems to turn into monsters anyhow, its great for me to be able to change that. I'm having a BLAST. As always "Tracker's" HOPs require concentration to find the objects.(they aren't put right in front of your face). Mini puzzles are challenging with out being to hard. For me it's refreshing to not have a gimme puzzle put in front of me every five minutes. There's morphing objects, fresco pieces and playing card to collect. In other words there's PLENTY to keep you looking. I give this enjoyable entertaining puzzle 5 stars all around

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MYSTERY TRACKERS HAS RECOVERED FROM THE TRAIN DERAILMENT, WELCOME BACK! The last Mystery Trackers, Train to Hellswich, was a complete disaster, but it appears that the Mystery Trackers train is back on track, just in the nick of time! (how long is a nick of time?) You're going to need a hazmat suit and a gas mask for this investigation detective as you return to the troubled little town of Brightfield where the citizens of this frozen little town, are victims of a biological experiment. All it takes is a single breath of not so fresh air, and within minutes, an amazing biological transformation takes place, turning man into beast. What is the purpose of this cruel experiment? Is it too late to contain this Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde potion? You can't investigate without a partner by your side, and Elf is the best man, er, dog for the job. He looks super awesome in his custom made hazmat suit, however, the purpose of a hazmat suit is to create an airtight seal to keep the good stuff in and the bad stuff out. The problem with Elf's suit is that his tail isn't covered so let's keep our fingers crossed that poor little Elf doesn't turn into a massive, rabid, Pit Bull. The most important piece of equipment you have on this case, is your Gas Mask, but the filters need to be changed often or you may as well just breath the atmosphere. There is a Gas Mask meter on the left of the screen that indicates when you need to stop investigating, and start looking for a new filter. This is a feature I happen to love because the Gas Mask filters just so happen to be Morphing Objects, but the beauty of this feature is that the Morphing Object doesn't morph until it's time for a new filter! This Collector's Edition version also has Collectible Playing Cards (but I haven't finished the game yet to see what the cards are for, I wanted to write my review because I wanted folks to know that this is a great game in spite of a couple of negative reviews) There are also Collectible Fresco Puzzle Pieces to find, and a variety of Achievements to earn.. The Hidden Object Scenes are varied with Interactive List finds, Silhouetted Shape finds and even a scene where you find the correct section in a picture as shown on puzzle tile squares. I will say that I rarely use the hint feature on a HOP, in fact I can usually find the correct objects without looking at the list, but I had to use the hint on both the first HOP and the second because they have done a wonderful job hiding items in plain sight, so bravo my big eared elephant devs. The Mini Games are a vast improvement over the previous easy breezy games offered in the last several Mystery Tracker games. Some puzzles are still fairly easy, some aren't, but most are entertaining. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo: 1) Slide tokens along a triangle shaped track until they align with the correct symbols. 2) Drag tiles along the grid to their correct positions. 3) Open the first aid kit by adjusting 3 sliders to complete the image on the token. 4) Move the red ball along the tracks traversing every line just once. 5) Match the picture on the large octagon with the images next to them, using the yellow center to rotate and swap the octagons. 6) Connect each square to one or more squares with one or two lines. Select gaps between squares to add or remove lines which cannot cross. 7) Enter the code according to the clue shown. This Collector's Edition has 8 Concept Art pictures, 8 Wallpapers, a Secret Room which is secret, 32 (to the best of my counting skills) Collectible Fresco Puzzle Pieces, Morphing Gas Mask replacements (this feature can be turned off) 4 Music Soundtracks, 22 Achievements to earn, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter. Give the demo a try and I think you'll agree that this is a much better version of the last few dud Mystery Trackers games, enjoy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 3 + 1 stars Mystery Trackers are good games, but each time shorter and shorter and quite easy to do. So I give only 3 stars + 1 more star for Elf :-) Ask them to do longer games please...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Elf is cute in his bio-hazard suit... Hi all! As always, I review mostly on the game play and leave the story line to others who do a much better job than I. We have #12 in this series, and yes, I have them all. Excellent graphics, very clear. Colors are true and nice. Game play is excellent, no problems during the demo and it fit my large screen quite nicely. The voice overs are well done, age and character appropriate, and actually show emotion, when we have them. There is not a lot of character interaction in this version and I wasn't too fond of the "whispering" voice our villain has, but otherwise well done. Animation is exceptional, e.g. eye and mouth movements, running, etc. Music is mostly soothing until something is about to happen, then increases in intensity. Sound FX are well done when used, so there is no lag in sound during play. Yep, we still have our helper, Elf. He isn't used a lot and is very quiet, but also quite helpful when needed. He looks kind of cute in his little protective suit. HOPs are silhouettes, picture parts and interactive lists. Scenes are a bit more cluttered than in previous games in this series, which makes it somewhat difficult to quickly find an item, but not impossible. I did not see where you could switch to something else if you did not care for the HOPs. Puzzles are not difficult, but a few do take some time and thought to complete. Hint system is very helpful and it does transport to longer locations. This is a good feature, as you do a lot of back tracking. You have a jump map, but I seldom use it, since we have the transport. SG is the standard set up and does show you where collectibles can be found, in case you missed one. Nice combination of collectibles. We have to find morphing items that replenish your air supply. There was some disease that broke out, so you need to wear a gas mask. You can turn off this feature, but I found that it does continue to use the air anyway. If you are out of air, you cannot proceed until you find another morphing object. They are fairly easy to spot, but are not in every scene. We also have puzzle pieces...okay, they call them fresco pieces. These can be anywhere and are large enough to see, but easy to overlook because they aren't shaped like a jigsaw puzzle piece. We also have to find playing cards. Not sure what these do yet. As I said, I review on the play and not the story...however, this story seems very familiar to me. Maybe I beta tested it, but I didn't have it on my beta list. This one is not really challenging, but for some reason, I found I wanted to play on and see what happens and why. There isn't as much action in this game as in others in this series, but I didn't get bored either. I think all levels of players will find this one interesting. I love this series and so yes, I am adding this one to my collection. As always, try it for yourself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and you may not care for this one at all. Thanks for the reviews.
