League of Light: Edge of Justice Collector's Edition is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very awesome sequel ! I've been playing games for a very long time. . .I used to play and review many, many games here at bfg. . .I've been back for a couple of months and have been very pleased with a lot of the games I've been buying and playing here, this third installment of League of Light ranks right up there as one of my "new" faves !! I'll leave the technical reviewing to sunnyglow, whom I must say, has very similar taste in games with me, which makes those reviews, for myself, very helpful and I usually seek out those reviews for the few years of games I missed when I was gone ! Very quickly, I'm happy to have my little buddy back, but I also really appreciate that the devs have given us the option to use the helper or not !!! I really hope other devs take into account, not everybody enjoys the little animal/magic helpers we get in the games. It's the same as experience levels, most hardcore gamers like to use the custom setting to make the game run the exact way they enjoy it. And most of the bigger devs have listened and now offer that amazing "custom" button ! So I have really enjoyed this game, it's even better with all the little extras given to us by the amazing devs, making it "my game" !! Thanks for listening to my little "rant" !! Rant over, now back to your regularly scheduled gaming ! Happy Gaming Everyone !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from RETURN TO THE LEAGUE OF LIGHT 6: EDGE OF JUSTICE FOR ANOTHER MISSION! Okay senior investigator, return to the League of Light: Edge of Justice and embark on a new journey as your investigation leads you to a small town where you must restore the peace! The city of Hamelin thought that an era of piece was to begin after a mysterious flutist saved the town from rats. But he's back now, wanting revenge after being denied his rightful dues (justice)! You're sent to investigate and to find a way to stop the man. You must use all your seasoned skills to discover his motives because the citizens fear for their safety. Can you and your little scarecrow friend track down the flutist and uncover his devious plans? This won't be an easy task since you face a vengeful adversary with a "dark magic" flute! This is another exciting installment of the League of Light series which I thoroughly enjoyed. This continuing saga has some of the best visuals ever – every scene is painted with rich colors, accompanied by great details and amazing graphics quality – absolutely stunning. Also, the soundtracks are suitably epic and the voice-overs are pleasant and does a good job of keeping you on track. Every location is loaded with tasks waiting for you to solve. However, since most inventory would be used nearly immediately after being picked up, the challenge is not really there. Nonetheless, at least I found the highly-interactive hidden object scenes to be entertaining and the puzzles, especially the more unique ones, to be extremely interesting. Previous editions may be more challenging, but many casual gamers are familiar with the story of the Pied Piper of Hamelin. Few realize however, that the story is based on real events, which evolved over the years into a fairy tale made to scare children. I highly recommend this adventure to players of all levels. Cheers! •League of Light: Dark Omens •League of Light: Wicked Harvest •League of Light: Silent Mountain •League of Light: The Gatherer •League of Light: Edge of Justice

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Likeable Game! I enjoyed this game especially with my little scarecrow. Something about this little "guy'" makes me chuckle. I think about how clever it is to create a character that when you point to something you know he isn't suppose to go get, he shakes his head "no". lol I do it on purpose because I am constantly amazed at all the details and creativeness that goes into the BF games. Overall, there is so little that I can say bored me or I found any area that really bothered me. Graphics, sound were excellent. The challenge as usual can be adjusted. The storyline is similar to some but different in aspects. Try the demo and see if this one is for you. PS If you don't want to use that cute scarecrow, you don't have to but you might miss him. Most of all : Enjoy and have fun!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I CAN’T RESIST A GAME WITH MY LITTLE SCARECROW PAL AND THIS ONE IS EXCELLENT League of Light Edge of Justice is the 3rd game in this series where we have our little scarecrow buddy – a helper that I absolutely love. We first met our little scarecrow in League of Light Wicked Harvest: a game with 74 5-star reviews. It was a game I loved and one that I have played several times since its release in 2014. Edge of Justice is a retelling of the Pied Piper of Hamelin a theme that is popular with game developers. We now revisit the city of Hamelin in a game that I love. The story is extremely well-told and leads the gamer on an interesting journey to discover the truth and to find out why a mysterious piper is bent on revenge and is now punishing the people of Hamelin. You play as a detective from the League of Light who is following clues to find information on how to restore your young scarecrow friend, Tom, to his human form and that search has led you to the famous town of Hamelin. While there you encounter a mysterious piper who is unleashing fury upon the citizens of the town. Using your detective skills will you be able to restore peace to Hamelin and put an end to the chaos. Hopefully, you will also find the time and the information to remove the curse from Tom. The graphics are my favorite style using hand drawn artwork rather than those highly polished computer generated ones that have been used in recent games by other devs. Tom is created to perfection and I enjoy his antics as he completes several tasks for me throughout the game. It is fun to equip him with various items from my inventory that he will require to carry out some of the tasks he performs. Something many gamers will really like is that the developer gives them the option to use a helper or not. I am not always a huge fan of helpers in a game but Tom is one of those that I simply can’t resist as are Mr. Jenkins and Elf. I happen to love the HOP scenes and puzzles in the game. The HOPS are very creative although not really new. I don’t generally care for the storybook type but there is one in the demo of the game that I find enjoyable. The HOPS vary in style as is generally the case in newer games. While the HOPS are terrific, the puzzles might seem a bit easy for some. Although a bit easy I find the puzzles quite enjoyable as I don’t always care for brain-numbing puzzles in games. The extras are fairly standard as well with nothing earthshaking here. We do have collectible owls to find and they don’t always jump out at you. We also will find statuettes of game characters. Of course there achievements to earn as well as the bonus game and a strategy guide. There is not much left to say except that I have been waiting for this game and knew it was one I would love. The League of Light games are all excellent but my favorites are those that include Tom in the storyline. Now it is time for me to get back to playing the full game. I hope this is one you will enjoy as well. Please try the demo first because we all have different tastes. Happy gaming!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Much Better..... The first time I played LoL Wicked Harvest, I was hooked and it's still to this day one of my all time favorites. I purchased the one that followed without even trying the demo, which turned out to be not even close and I will never do that again. Well I am happy to say that I just finished the demo on this one and I'm sitting here grinning like a madwoman waiting for it to be done installing. It's not at all a brain buster, but it offers the same kind of escape and fun that WH did and because Sunnyglow was kind enough to list the details, I can cut this review short and duck out of reality for awhile on my day off. It's a delightful romp and I couldn't be happier. Peace!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GET READY TO PAY THE PIPER - AN EXTRA GOLDEN STAR FOR THE OPTIONAL GAME HELPER Detective – you will need to pay the piper in this game – in more ways than one! As a member of the League of Light, you are off to Hamelin where a flautist is turning everyone into ashes. Can this episode relate to one years earlier where the children of the town were lured away by the Piped Piper into the black smoke of the forest? At that time, another member of the League of Light dispelled the black smoke and returned the children with a special magic lamp. That same detective gave the town a splinter of the magic lamp to fight dark magic in the future. Now, detective, use that splinter quickly before evil dark magic returns to the village. You see a masked man everywhere you turn. Has the Pied Piper returned? But how can that be possible if he was found dead in a prison cell years ago? This is fairy tale lover’s delight! This game is another shining example of the creativity of this developer. This game should appeal to fantasy game lovers, those who like easy breezy games, and children as well. You can choose either a male or female voice within the game – or no voice at all. The female voice sounds like the voice of the former Nancy Drew - Lani Minella. The graphics render a nice background for a rather twisted fairy tale. The gaming script is creative and the pace kept my interest while playing this demo. A GOLDEN STAR FOR THE OPTIONAL HELPER. You can also take Tom the Scarecrow out of the cabinet and use him as a helper – OR NOT! THE “HELPER” SCARECROW IS OPTIONAL! Thanks, Mariaglorum, and an extra star for allowing those who don’t want a helper to opt out! I wish more developers offered this option. At least for me, I will be purchasing more games from this developer! Thank you for listening to us. HOP SCENES: The HOP scenes are the best part of the game. They are well-drawn and creative. There is a scene with cryptic clues. There is also a search and replace scene in which you locate items and interact with them within the scene. All the scenes are creative! PUZZLES: Although I LOVE the HOP Scenes, I am not impressed with the puzzles. They are all easy – a little too easy for my taste. However, these types of puzzles would be excellent for children as well as adults who just want some casual gaming. Most of the puzzles are storybook puzzles. Most these are more HOP scenes than puzzles. In most of these scenes, you search for a specific number of an item or symbol while hearing the tale of the town. There are two of these within the demo. The other storybook scene requires you to search for items which are out-of-place and place them into the proper position. LEVELS: Casual, Advanced, Expert, Custom Hints and Skips: 1 to 90 seconds EXTRAS: Choice of Male or Female Voice or No Voice Map is provided as you play the game 9 Achievements (Some with 3 parts) Collect 6 gaming characters and 24 Owls 8 Wallpapers, 16 Concept Art, Music, Jigsaw puzzle HERE ARE THE DETAILS (SPOILERS) FOR THOSE WANT MORE INFORMATION ON THE HOP SCENES AND PUZZLES IN SEQUENCE HOP SCENES: A. Mini-HOP scene. Locate parts for a statue. B. Silhouette items – Locate four (4) each of three (3) different colored coins C. Cryptic clues. D. Silhouette. Locate the items and then interact with them within the scene. PUZZLES: Puzzle Rating: They are all easy. A. Slider puzzle. Slide three (3) rings so that three (3) symbols match up with each of three (3) characters at the side. B. Storybook puzzle. More of a HOP scene. Locate four (4) items within a story scene. C. Connection puzzle. Arrange five (5) statues so their hands interconnect. D. Repeat of (B). E. Storybook puzzle scene. Search for four (4) items which are out-of-place and put them into the proper locations. 3X

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Scarecrow time! I guess the critic and commenting about having a helper to reach difficult or high places was such, that the team decided to make a version that includes and a version that excludes the tiny helper! Well, I played this with the scarecrow, only because it's more fun that way. Although I can understand those disagreeing. Look for owls in every scene and collect throughout the game creatures like the one you have (not necessarily in every scene). The menu bar is a bit quirky but you'll get used to it -or not! The ending of the main game is an absolute buster... such disappointment, nearly cartoonish with so much blah, blah... Contrary to the bonus game which again is absolutely marvelous!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A decent addition to the series. Others have described the play-by-play and the CE special features, so I won’t duplicate their good work. I have the other games in this series, and enjoyed them. Although not big fan of little helpers, I do find the scarecrow boy a rather charming and amusing companion —especially so since discovering his back-story in the earlier games. If you really don’t want to have the little guy tag along, you have the option of leaving him behind at the start of the game The graphics, music, background sounds, and voice-overs are all very well done. I particularly like being able to choose the gender-voice of the character one plays. Game play is, for the most part, logical. While the map is quite useful, you’ll probably use it more for quick travel between points than for discovering where to go next. The HO sequences and mini-games, while not really offering anything new, are sufficiently challenging without one's need to frequently hit the hint or solve buttons. Although, overall, I like this game, there are a couple of things that definitely belong on the negative side of the balance sheet. We are once again faced with an anomalous supernatural being which, of course, only we can conquer after undergoing arduous challenges and accomplishing great feats of derring-do. While I recognize that there are just so many villains that can be portrayed, I think that I’ve seen this particular apparition elsewhere. Too, being familiar with the story of the Pied Piper of Hamelin, I am at an almost total loss to see any real connection between this game and that tale —except for the rats. I am not a fan of CE games, which you already know if you've read any of my other reviews, so I will wait for the SE version to be released before I get this game. My recommendation to buy comes with my usual caveat, play the demo and decide for yourself.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from the best in the series....but... I really like Mariaglorum games - and this series is one of my favs. The graphics are stunning! Great cut scenes. And although the storyline is usual it has a new spin. My only complaint is, in almost every scene, our seasoned veteran detective constantly and consistently does not have basic tools? Or they break or they suddenly disappear? Especially when they could be used for several tasks, like the chain cutters for the lock on the window and the staples but I had to find a key for the well in the same scene?! And the torch that suddenly disappears after the melting of the ice right beside the cave, so he/she has to search for another light source?! AND, always having to look for matches or flint. I'm almost certain that anyone who is an adventurer /detective has a back pack prepared with those basic tools. You know a knife, flint/matches/lighter, some rope, and lock picks, to name a few, (instead of having to find 5 or 6 other backpacks needing a special insert to open it (how handy at almost every scene) with the exact tool they need???!!?? I don't know what to say about the shovel that is used for the coal in the fireplace and then splits into 2... It makes the game tedious and boring and I perceive it as lazy and sloppy game fillers by the developers to extend the game because they can't come up with a really great story. I think we need a Steampunk hero - they will definitely have basic tools and gears to boot. I was also hoping that the bonus game would be the detective searching for and finding the remedy to heal the little scarecrow, but that didn't happen. I recommend the game because it's still pretty good for the most part, better than a lot of the games that are coming out.
