Fantasy Mosaics 12: Parallel Universes 4.3 5 15 15
A Whole New World For Mister Penguin To Explore Mr. Penguin has found a parallel universe! He sure does get around, I'm just glad he didn't get eaten by those hungry dinosaurs, but what happened to the Mrs. and baby penguin? This is a griddler or mosaic type puzzle game where you fill in and cross of cells on various sized grids, using logic. There are groups of numbers located on each column and row of the grid, each group of numbers must be separated by at least one blank or crossed off cell. Sometimes it's easier to figure out where numbers can't possibly fit to reduce the amount of cells and narrow the playing field down a bit. Some cells contain bonuses such as extra hints, extra mistakes allowed or an extra pickaxe which allows you to choose which cell you want a hint on. There is a Sun icon as well that when fully charged, will give you a mega hint, filling in or crossing off a 3x3 area of your choice. The one feature that makes Fantasy Mosaics stand out from the rest of the griddler games, is the vibrant array of colors available. It can also help you solve the puzzle when you get stuck, because you can switch to another color which ultimately narrows down the available cells. Unlike many griddler games, these pictures actually make sense, because they have three different colors you know what image you have created, such as a kitten, a flower or even a molecule. If you make no mistakes, you will earn a Gold Trophy regardless of the time it takes to complete the puzzle, a Silver Trophy is earned if you make one mistake, and a Bronze Trophy is earned if you make 2 mistakes. You can replay the grid as often as you want in order to improve your trophy status. This series is one of the best available, and certainly the most colorful. This is a must have game for griddler geeks and an immediate purchase for this geek, enjoy! January 6, 2016
A ?QUANTUM? LEAP INTO THE WORLD OF GRIDDLERS WHERE THE ?MECHANICS? OF THIS GAME HAVE NO ?PARALLEL!? Happy ?Three Kings Day!? Playing so many mosaic games, our penguin has found a way to enter an alternate universe. Entering this parallel universe with our penguin, one would expect that the ?quantum mechanics? of this game should vary slightly from previous games. However, that is not the case. The game mechanics of this game are the same as in the other games from this developer, but don?t tell our penguin! He has returned with another Mosaic game (AKA O?Ekaki, Griddlers, Paint-by-Numbers, Pic-a-Pix, Nonograms or whatever you call them) puzzle game. A BIG THANK you to BFG for a game in one of my favorite genres. I LOVE these games and this developer is the BEST creator of them in this universe of reality. This penguin must have been stuck in a parallel universe as we have not had a game from this developer in quite some time. This makes a nice holiday present for those who celebrate the festival of ?The Three Kings.? HOW TO PLAY: This is variety of a Sudoku puzzle. In this puzzle, create pictures by filling in squares in a grid. The grids in this game will vary in number from 10 x 10 to 20 x 20. Each side of the grid will have numbers for each line of squares indicating the amount of squares which are to be filled in for that line of squares. Squares are filled in where the squares intersect between the two sets of numbers on each side. ? Levels: Casual and Advanced. The advanced screen begins with a 10 x 15 grid. The casual version will begin with a simplistic 10 x 10 grid and has a tutorial as well. ? Colors: The game has three (3) colored screens which can be switched at any time while playing the puzzle. ? Autofill: There is autofill so you do not have to fill in the unused boxes. However, you can use your mouse to right click ?X?s? for unused spaces. ? Hints: Hints are given as you proceed and are based on the difficulty of the puzzle and how well you perform in solving the grid ? Number of Levels and Puzzles: There are 100 puzzles ? 20 levels with 5 puzzles per level in the game. ? Aids: You have a pickax as an aid in the game ? Awards: There are 3 trophies: a gold trophy for no mistakes, a silver trophy for 1 mistake, and a bronze trophy for two mistakes. If you make 3 mistakes, you must start the game over again. ? Collectibles. When you complete one level of 5 puzzles, you receive an item to place in your garden with the ?portal? to another world. I highly recommend this game if you like Sudoku games or any type of mathematical puzzle. January 6, 2016
I can not get enough of the Fantasy Mosaic series! This series is an instant buy for me anytime they release a new one. I really enjoy that the puzzles form a very distinct picture and the challenge of multiple colors. I wish you could interact with the achievement items more or have a choice of decorations. ANOTHER 5 STAR PENGUIN ADVENTURE One of the few games I'll buy without te trial time. Mine ran out while making breakfast. No worry, I used a game token to buy it right away. Love these games. Like I've mentioned in earlier versions, the only thing to make it better would be your penguins home interactive like placing he creatures and rewards where you'd like them and would react to your curser like the gardenscapes and barn yard games. Just a bit more fun that way but I enjoy these games more than any other grid genre games. ighly recommend this one and allthe rest. January 8, 2016
The Power Of Twelve! This is my favorite series of puzzle games! I have played (and purchased) all twelve, and find myself repeat playing them! This one is no exception, I am sure! They improve with their pictures each game, and the quality is, as usual, excellent! If you have never played a game in the "Fantasy Mosaics" series, then you are in for a treat with this one! Try it! You will be hooked after the hour trial, I guarantee! January 9, 2016
Bought Straight Away :-) I love the Fantasy Mosaics series and knew I would love this such a relaxing game to play with a good level of difficulty... January 7, 2016
SUCCESSFUL FORMULA CONTINUED This game is exactly the same format as the last few Fantasy Mosaics games. No need to mess with something that's working. I buy every Fantasy Mosaics game that comes out and this is no exception. I did play the trial first, just to be sure, but as soon as the trial was over, I purchased it (on sale; even better). The storyline and populating the garden are not real strong points for the game. That is why I rated them low. The meat of the game is in the beautiful, three color mosaic games. This game seems to have a bigger variety of colors and they seem perhaps more vivid than the last game in the series. The set up of the hints, allowed errors and the bronze, silver and gold cups are all the same. I happen to be a perfectionist, which requires making zero mistakes and using no hints to get a gold cup. I end up playing some of the mosaics over to accomplish this. The ability to switch among the different colors in the same grid helps reduce the number of hints required and allows play to continue when you have reached a block in another color. The grids start out fairly easy, 10x10, but after the first location, at the end of which an item is added to the garden, the grids jumped to 15x15. By the end of the game, the complexity and difficulty of the grids will have increased exponentially. This is a game that I play in short segments, like one location at a time, whenever I want a good mosaic game and great graphics. I don't play with sound, ever. It is a long game, with lots of locations and lots of grids within each location. If you are a fan of mosaics, this one is a great example. If you are new to mosaics, this one is a good introduction. Yippee - Another Fantastic Mosiac! Bought immediately! My favorite series, despite the occasional need that forces the use of a hint. I have all the others. I usually have one of these games in progress while playing a HOP/Adventure game. Taking a break often gets me past a tough spot. The prior 2 reviews explained the game so clearly I do not need to repeat. I will add that in addition to a hammer there is a 'sun' which will reveal a small group of squares and a hint that will give you the left top square. The penguin does not do much for me (he seems now be divorced) but these are far and away the best of these type of games. January 6, 2016
Glad I Came Back I just came back to Big Fish a month ago and I am sure glad I did! This game is great. The sound and graphics are really good. The multi-color puzzles add a good challenge to these type of puzzles. It is a must have! January 6, 2016
Fantasy Mosaics are the best and #12 just may be the BEST OF THE BEST !! Griddlers in the know are well aware that Match Gems puts out the ultimate in grid games. No other developer has yet come close to this series in any way, shape or form. In Parallel Universes two elements quickly come to mind. First, as has always been the case, no hand holding since the player is not subjected to a myriad of 5 x 5 or 10 x 10 grids at the game outset. These multicolored masterpieces get larger and tougher in the starting group of puzzles. Secondly, the background music in #12 is for me a cut above even for Match Gems. I really enjoy the more dynamic score being used. If the folks at Match Gems ever read the reviews, a suggestion if I may. Consider adding a fourth color to the grids. Got to go.............there is a purchase that needs my attention. January 6, 2016
