Horror in the countryside! I loved the game and definitely recommend it! The story has enough twists and unexpected turns to keep you engaged and wanting to know more. The voice-overs are not the best but are clear and explain the story well. Characters are well-drawn and suit the game generally - apart from the brother who looks bizarrely out of place. Graphics were nice and detailed and went well with the overall mood of the game. I thought the atmosphere and graphics were better in the second half, with the haunted mines and graves, compared to the start of the game. It was not very long but very enjoyable. The game definitely gives great value in the price of an SE! July 5, 2016
Going Back Home I found this game to be interesting. It is a lot like the older HOG's, but it will still hold your interest. Hog's are not that difficult. I found the story good in keeping you interested in what happens next. Amanda has to find out about the miner that is causing havoc in the town. She finds out that her brother is in cahoots with the miner. Play the game to see what happens next. I really enjoyed this game. It is much better than the recent games we have been getting. Good for a Standard Edition I liked the game for the fact that it's half the price of a collector edition. All Collector Edition people do is remove a little stages of bonus and release it as standard as well later which can't be compared to a standard from scratch. I liked the graphics, they are well done. Only problem is it's a bit short and less challenging too maybe. but overall it's a recommended game from my end. July 19, 2016
Vengeance: Lost Love Another great hidden object game to play. The skips could have done with speeding up on the puzzles because I like getting to the point July 5, 2016
I Liked It ! With few exceptions, I am not thrilled with this type of SE because the devs try to cram too much into a short amount of game time. But this one was good with the right amount of plot and action to keep it interesting at a good pace, so the quality was not compromised. A simple road trip turned into an harrowing experience for Amanda and James, when a nut-case from Amanda's past kidnapped James. He was obsessed with Amanda and was determined to prevent her from marrying James. There were a couple of other characters who made very minimal appearances in the story, one of which I believed to be the culprit at first. And then I suspected Amanda's brother. I wish it had been the Lone Miner returning to scare the heck out of everyone! It was still an entertaining game with a little mystery involved. I liked the HOGs and mini games/puzzles, except for the game where you had to move pieces or tokens to a particular slot while other pieces moved at the same time. It was frustrating and tested my patience. I finally just skipped it before my blood pressure shot up. The HOGs were skippable, which I had never seen before. I cannot imagine anyone wanting to skip a HOG !! But, it is a welcome feature for those who hate them. There was a map but did not need it, as the locations aren't strewn all over the place. The back and forth was easy-peasy. The graphics were very sharp and colorful, the voices were good and the storyline held my interest. I was surprised when all of a sudden the ending came out of nowhere and a loose explanation was given for the chain of events. Amanda saved the day and her fiance, and brought everything to a very happy ending. Thank goodness for all these beautiful Super Heroines! What would we do without them ?! The game ran smoothly, no fancy stuff and had just enough challenge to keep the boredom at bay. I recommend as a coupon purchase or when there is a good sale. God Bless... January 17, 2017
It's Old School But I Kinda Dig It After the horrible accident in the mines of Cedar Park in 1988, your father made the decision to close the mines for good. Twenty three miners were killed and one miner was never accounted for! Now that father has passed away, your brother Mike has reopened the mine, and the townsfolk are angry. Amanda has returned to Cedar Park with her fiance James to pick up the wedding dress her mother had made for her (and it's actually quite beautiful) when disaster strikes. A masked man dubbed The Lone Miner, attacks and kidnaps James. Has the Lone Miner returned from the grave to seek revenge? Well, this is an old school HOG, the acting isn't all that great but the graphics are decent enough, the storyline is decent and there are a ton of HOS and Puzzles to solve. There are no frills or collectibles, there is a transport map but it doesn't really tell you which locations have an available current task. The Hidden Object Scenes are all about the same, mostly interactive list finds but there are also Interactive Silhouetted Shape finds. Some of the scenes are repeated a second time. There are a ton of Mini Games, nothing really new, and most are easy to solve. The following are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo: 1) Rotate the ring that holds the discs using the rotation button in the center so that the symbols on the tokens match the symbols on the outside ring. 2) Rotate the dials on the briefcase, clicking on some of the dials affect others. 3) Open door latches in the correct sequence. 4) Swap adjacent chess pieces so they match the color coded spots. Chess pieces can only move in the direction of the tracks. 5) Click on tiles to rotate them so that the colors match on all sides of all tiles. 6) Click on rings to complete image, clicking one ring affects others. 7) Move watch needles to set the time according to clues found. 8) Click on fuses to swap positions, flip the on switch to see which ones are in correct positions. This game is certainly worth a credit, keep an open mind and give it a try, enjoy! July 4, 2016
Short but Sweet A really interesting story line, but very short. Should have lasted 2-3 times as long. Glad I got it for half price. July 4, 2016
Really Good Game but Short I really enjoyed this game but was shocked when it ended quite abruptly when I felt I was perhaps only half way through. I knocked off one star for the shortness of the game. I think it would have been useful to have a more informative map but realised after a while that there was not an awful lot of backtracking. You only worked in about three scenes at a time and when they were done you moved on and didn't return. I like the HOs although the language was a bit odd. Scale turned out to be what looked like a ruler which I had to use a hint to find and so was a bit miffed about that. Somewhere saw road spelt as raod but that's just me being picky and didn't interfere with my enjoyment of the game. I enjoyed the storyline and it kept my interest all the way through, where as in some games I have lost interest in the plot and just go through the motions. I did enjoy a lot of the puzzles but I do get fed up with the ones where if you move one part other parts change and there were a couple here although people must enjoy them as they are in almost every game I buy. Is there a logical way to work them out? Probably, but I haven't got the patience for them and usually skip. All in all an enjoyable game which I used a credit for so was not too upset at the shortness of it. July 4, 2016
Don't lose this one This is based on the demo. There are 3 levels of play: easy, normal and detective. There are voice overs, the lips move and there is also text. The game is about a couple planning on getting married, but the bride wanted to go to her parents' old cottage to pick up her wedding dress, which her mother had made. The HOS are very clear, only encountered one in time I played the demo. You can even skip them! Found the game very entertaining; graphics were good. With the "lone miner" theory, it is a bit spooky, but not bloody or real scary. July 4, 2016
Extra points for the Storyline Nice straightforward storyline with believable disasters. The demo was unexpectedly engrossing, and the art upholds the fine storyline. The voiceovers do not always agree with the art. Too many puzzles are of the move one thing and several move sort. The HO's are not really hidden or particularly challenging. You can skip if you like, but no need, except for the tedious puzzles. After completing an HO, you are told that you have "found" this or that, and the things were not there when you were finding things on the list. They should have tried a bit harder, and inserted the found items into the HO game. While the heaped clutter for HO games is mostly appropriate for the spaces (can't think of why a mine would have a petrified brain, but , hey), this game stops short of being really good. It's as if invention stopped after the storyline and art. There are not so many lock puzzles that it gets tedious, but the game stopped before I expected. It's thoroughly in keeping with the characters and the story. July 4, 2016
