Weather Lord: Royal Holidays Collector's Edition 3.4 5 12 12
Shhh! It's A Surprise Birthday Party Princess has asked their good friend, Poseidon, to take Victor fishing so she can plan a surprise Birthday Party for Victor's birthday. There's so much to be done, and so little time! This edition of Weather Lord has exceptional graphics, maybe it's just because of the different scenery that take's place in their Royal garden. There's a ton of things to do in each and every level, and this Time Management series is different than most because you need the elements of weather to achieve your goals. You will need the Sun to dry up puddles, the Wind to chase away the clouds, and Rain is used to grow crops for food. These additional tasks can make it a little more difficult to finish the levels within the Expert time frame, however, but I love this feature. Each level has Bonus Icons available that temporarily give you an extra worker or extra resources, can freeze time or make the existing workers faster. The icons must recharge before being used again, and you will need to use all available bonuses to achieve expert status and receive a Gold Medal. There is a star meter located at the top which shows Gold, Silver or Bronze time status. You can play the game in a Relaxed untimed mode or Normal, and there are 28 Awards to earn as well. Some levels have a hidden Jigsaw Puzzle piece, which allows you to assemble a puzzle when all pieces have been found. This is an excellent Time Management game series, with a good storyline and decent graphics. Although this game has the typical TM tasks, collecting resources, gathering food, repairing bridges and buildings, it also has unique features using the elements of weather. This Collector's Edition offers replayable Movies, 8 Music Soundtracks, Collectible Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces to assemble, 6 Wallpapers, 28 Awards to achieve, a Strategy Guide and Bonus Levels, however, in my opinion, these "extras" aren't worthy of the "extra" price tag, so I will wait for the Standard Version to be released, enjoy! Second Thoughts It really is fun. I beta tested this game and put in my two cents, I really liked the previous games and this one did not do it for me. But I just finished it and I have changed my mind. It is very challenging and crafting takes getting used to, and there aren't any instructions, but I really thought it was fun. Victor and Olivia are on holiday and they spend their vacation fixing all the problems in the kingdom and since they want their subjects to have fun, it's one festival, dance and party after another, even amusement parks and the circus! There is no way to play this game without continuously gathering resources... and the crafting takes a while to get used to, the further you go, the more skilled you get, so don't give up. I finally got the hang of it and it took me a while, and in this game you can actually craft the wrong item, so you have to be careful, very confusing. There are 42 main levels and the puzzle pieces are in the even levels, (2,4,6 etc.) After you pass level 16 or so, (it leads you to the 18 alternate levels that become available where you work for the demon. In one of the main levels, Victor is slipped a potion to fall in love with another girl, and Olivia is upset and leaves Victor, in the alternate levels, you actually craft that potion and cause all kinds of havoc for them, covering everything with weeds and demolishing the museum and fountains. I really like this where you got the back story in the game. There is a puzzle piece in these levels, one in a set of 3, 18 levels in all, and there are 15 bonus chapters after you complete the game. The puzzle pieces are in the odd levels, (1,3, 5 etc.) in the bonus section. I thought it was clever that you access the bonus by going through a portal. I was able to get gold in all the levels except for the bonus levels, there was one 6B that was impossible to complete. There just isn't enough time. Oh well... if you're OCD you won't be able to stand it... The story was simple, but cute, it's amazing that through all the hardships from the first time they met, it's a wonder they are still together. Tip: There was one level where there is no gold, (you can imagine my frustration), you have to craft it, with crystals and food. And you have to capture the fairies in order to build the crystal hut, and this starts the levels, where you have to craft gold. I had to play each level just to figure out what to do and then had to play it again to complete it, it has taken me days to finish, but, it just makes it more fun and challenging. I only wish the puzzle pieces that you collect were able to play it as a puzzle, that would have made it better, instead it's just a picture that you cannot piece together. All in all, I didn't like it at first, but it really ended up being a decent game. October 20, 2016
Good Game I think I played Part 2 and 5 of this game already and enjoyed them both. Also this part is nice. Good graphics (I loved the under water levels) and challenging alternate levels make the game better than most others of this sort. October 15, 2016
Weather Lord: Royal Holidays Collector's Edition Another great game in the series to play October 12, 2016
Best one in the series! This storyline is very good, new and fresh/brighter than previous in this delightful series. I recommend it for a relaxing time with a bit of challenge. I achieved 3 gold stars each time after playing each level at least once, some more than twice, because there is strategy involved. But it is not too difficult IF you have played Weather Lord games before. SO grateful for the Collector's Edition game tips, which I used when unable to achieve 3 stars on two tries. AND the bonus levels are really cool. HIGHLY recommend this game for fun yet strategic entertainment. Hope to have more games like this soon, please BFG. October 28, 2016
Too difficult and confusing Played fifteen levels, crafting things, trying to figure what I'm short of, after level 8, down to silver, after level 11, lucky to get bronze. Out of my league. I bought all the others and loved them, gold all levels . This? Meh. October 14, 2016
The best TM in ages, but still not that great I've waited ages for a decent TM game as the recent games have been few and either dull or too simple. This game is not simple but they have gone to far and over complicated it. Playing this game is in no way relaxing and sometimes it's not easy to get the list of requirements to show for a building or interaction (and there is often a lot of requirements). I think the function where you need to make dresses, deck chairs and other random items is not needed and removing it would make the game play better. I will finish it but I am not sure I'll care about going back and getting gold for every level which is unusual for me. Can't comment on the story line as I don't bother with them. Come on Big Fish, give us a decent TM game please. October 15, 2016
Better. But still not great. At least the developers are listening to us. Big thank yous for that. So relieved they've stopped doing that horrible "dance" at the end of each level. I don,t think that the sun and clouds trick, works. Its a bit of a pain really. Perhaps a fast moving magician, adorned with an amazing sparkly cloak and pointy hat and a wand? would be more exciting. Id quite like to go inside their houses too. What about a Night time experience? Lots of little lights in the windows. Snow scenes with glitter on the roofs! Underwater scenes maybe? Red and white toadstool homes? We could go inside? ooh if only I could be a developer! DID enjoy the new scenery. Loved the little crabs etc. More sparkles and magic needed, I feel. October 15, 2016
Why? So they've changed up a couple of things a la Incredible Dracula (needing to craft things, but not every level, and it twinkles at you whether you need it or not) but with dismal success IMHO. All else is the same old stuff and I thought it took forever in this version for upgrades to enable. Certainly not worth a CE and probably not even an SE for me due to the changes with I thought clumsy and unexplained. October 12, 2016
Where is the fun? The recent weatherlord's are so childish. Where are the little monsters and sticky situations from the original ones? These last two were boring. October 14, 2016
