Rated 5 out of 5 by from ENJOYABLE GAME TO GET THOSE BRAIN CELLS MOVING! Hey, what do we have here--a good little game--finally? Yikes! Now, here's an enjoyable, creative and unique game with a futuristic back drop! Not expecting this one! Well presented, well put together and an interesting story! All we've been getting is redundant magical smoke that sucks in souls, hearts, minds and everything else but the kitchen sink! Thank you, game developers. Yes, I watched the credits. Had given up "hope" on playing at least one good game and you came through with flying colors! I purchased your game immediately! Enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More Like a Genuine Adventure Than a Casual Just With Some HOGS To my surprise, I am enjoying this game. It is set under water, ordinarily enough to keep me from so much as downloading a demo; however, the thought process that went into the HOGs is admirable, and the game play is, at least so far, enough to keep me hooked. If you're a stickler for fluent, idiomatic English, Embrace of Ocean will not be to your liking. Me, I'm well past the demo and still liking the game in spite of the fact I would rather be finding greaves or pieces of an elaborate cuir bouilli breastplate instead of mostly mundane items, the kind found in the ordinary casual game office or garage with some amusing pseudo-scientific items and tasks thrown in, for example, mixing a liquid on the basis of color plus the presence or absence of bubbles and vapor. While getting Embrace of Ocean's back-story takes a few moments of reading, which some players may not appreciate, I don't mind reading in a game and would have liked more. In sum, Embrace of Ocean is one of the better offerings I have come across this year. Added delight: No annoying saturated pinks and purples. I have been playing BF games for almost 10 years, and I think this is my first review. I am doing so because this is the sort of low key game that might go unnoticed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost Giving Up These Games--One I Am Enjoying! This review is not based on completing the game and is very subjective. But I am making it because I think there must be a good many players like myself who feel like this kind of gaming has used up its shelf life for them as individual players. awkward sentence but hey! I liked a game which was very innovative and which I will put in current favorites, and it was so innovative that perhaps it spoiled the games since then for me since it has not been learned from or built on yet. So I play again and again a solitaire game or a match three but also I read books, go out to dinner with friends, watch a video.. well but enough on me just that maybe you reader mon semblable mon frere(as an old poet put it) understand. Then before closing the door on HOPAs try this one say I. It is old fashioned , it is from the east of Europe and so poorly translated as to be on that account kind of endearing. It has a plot that so far is free from the mind numbing cliches. the scenes are pleasant places to be. Hope is an endearing character to play and gives one somehow, well, hope... The game play is awkward but for me is secondary to character, plot , place... I do not mind so much waiting for the skip button to recharge on a puzzle I could hardly care less about when I am in a nice location with a pleasant companion and story and other resources at hand to pass the wait time. If this story holds on to its oddity and pleasantness it deserves to be a cult classic and again is a delightful gift maybe for players like myself. you know who you are! If it fits give it a try!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from SLOW BUT EVERLASTING FUN I must agree with all of the reviews that this game is very slow and old school...but do not let that stop you from trying it. The story line is very good. The HOs are fun especially when you need to try to figure out exactly what they do want. You will understand once you try the demo. The puzzles are very good also with some being quite unique. This is a little gem. So please try it. I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Embrace of Ocean: Story of Hope Though this game seems out of date and moves slowly, there are elements of humor in several scenes and the way Blue "takes care of" another character made me laugh out loud. Sci Fi games are so rare and that makes this game a gem to me. The hint and skip fill slowly and some objects in the HOS are small. There are interactive elements in the HOS. There is a map, but it doesn't transport that I could see, but the hint does transport. I initially thought that the hint doesn't work, but you must click on the banner that says "hint"...took me a while to figure that out. LOL There is a quick clicking penalty in the HOS, but be sure to "click around" in the main scenes and look at everything. What you see may surprise you. Try this game. You may be pleasantly surprised!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A GREAT STORY LINE ALONE! Love this game! Yes it's out date and very slow moving. But, I don't care! No it doesn't have all the bells and whistles most look for in games. But, I don't care! Just on the story line alone, it's a buy for me. Which happens to be a Sci-Fi. Yea! I think the art work is very good and the voice overs are fine. I'm sure a lot of people will think this game to be out dated and very slow. But for me...I'm thrilled to have a SE and a new story line. So, for these reasons alone...I give this game 4 stars. As always and repeated by all...try this game for yourself. It's a buy for me. And I'm looking forward to finding out what happens to Blue. Enjoy, Lisa

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not my favorite Story line moves slowly. You must hit the X to get out of open box rather than just clicking outside. Mouse is slow to find objects in room.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Slow slow I agree it's , slow, I am 74 love the HOG's, speed to much for me . Like the story and graphic's are great. Things not called what they are can't fix the speed of hint and or skip. Wish it played longer, to try more.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Slow, Yes. Old, Yes. Story, Better. Outcome, Promising Over a hundred years in the future, a shuttle returns from a space station. Hope has just arrived back at the underwater city where she lives with her father. Barely arrived, she receives a message that her father has disappeared. Another message, this one from Dad, tells her to find his research and run, but not to look for him. Good stuff: No fairies here , folks. The Sci-fi setting gives us new possibilities and locations as well as vehicles that fly through space and water. the game elements are all here, HOPs, mini-games and puzzles, and a twist on the "saving a family member" story. Bad stuff: Those hint and skip buttons recharge slowly, oh, so slowly. (So while you are waiting, sweep the scene again, because you likely missed a corner to explore.) The items in rooms and HOPs are VERY small. I have a monitor that is huge and some items were smaller than the period at the end of a sentence. There were a couple of "off" translations - cutters in a HOP were a tiny part of a nail grooming kit, next to a pair of scissors - which you might think were the referred to article - especially as they looked like a thin small pair of scissors! If you are patient and would like something that is out of the ordinary, you should check this Demo out to see for yourself. It is a quirky little effort that deserves to be encouraged, especially if you have a coupon!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Am I Missing Something? I don't get the high praise for this game. The few puzzles I did were too easy. Having to click the X to remove the pop ups was a bit annoying. EVERYTHING is so slow!! I felt like I was half asleep playing this. I even went back to play a bit more after reading the positive reviews thinking maybe I missed something. But nope, the game got progressively worse!!
