Elven Legend 4: The Incredible Journey Collector's Edition is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love This Time Management Series, But......... I love the graphics this Time Management game offers, and each level has really good layouts with plenty of active areas to interact with. However, I do have a few complaints, the biggest drawback for me, is that it takes several attempts to earn all 3 stars, because if you don't choose the right tasks at the right times, you end up not being able to progress any further, but I guess that's where the challenge comes into play. This isn't an easy breezy game (unless you are playing in Relaxed mode which is untimed) and I will admit that I had to restart several levels to "get it right" by slightly altering the order in which I queued my tasks, otherwise I had to waste time waiting for the necessary resources to be available because I used them on a different task that had more benefits. You can earn up to 3 stars in each level, and you will have to use strategy to earn all three stars. In this fourth edition of Elven Legends' Queen Aerin and the majestic griffin were relaxing and enjoying the beautiful uneventful day when a stranger popped through the elven portal. The stranger has asked for the Queen's help saving his world, and naturally, the Queen has obliged. In this Collector's Edition version, each level has a Morphing little thief, and there are several Potion Bottles to find as well throughout your adventure. There are the normal resources to collect, food, wood, stone etc. and the same tasks of clearing the roads, repairing bridges and filling in pits along the way. Queen Aerin will do all the magic work, once she has enough magical crystals to charge her staff. There are several Altars of Resources available in each level that will produce resources over a period of time and each level has a Bonus meter that recharges to give you temporary boosts such as faster workers, more resources, or extra workers. You will need to construct different buildings to help you achieve your goals such as Farms, Workers House's and Magic Wells. This Collector's Edition has 8 Wallpapers, 8 Concept Art pictures, 50 Collectible Potion Bottles, Morphing Little Thieves, 9 Alchemy Encyclopedia pages, a built in Strategy Guide, 50 Levels & 10 Bonus Levels, 38 Achievements, High Scores and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too Hard for Me I own all the other Elven games, but after an hour trial game, couldn't get past level 3 going for all 3 stars. I'm not going to buy this one! Definitely a challenge!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Time management and stratergy together works for me I enjoyed this game. To get 3 starts you need a strategy and some levels take more than one go. I enjoyed this particularly because you needed a different strategy for each level and you have to think and plan quickly. I liked the fact that it was possible to get 3 stars on every level. The graphics are good, the game play smooth and quick enough.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Challenge That's Worth It This game was a challenge which I enjoyed. Give yourself time and patience to repeat a level before getting 3 stars, if that's what you're after. I found that reading the story gave some general hints to help set priorities. Make sure you know the goals of each level, and set the priorities accordingly. I found that assuming that I needed to venture into an area was a mistake, unless there was something that I needed to complete the goals. The graphics are splendid to look at, especially the detail of the character movement. You have a choice of which building to build which adds another element to the game and keeps things interesting, along with discovering the steps you need to complete each task - there is magic! I also enjoyed not have so many instructions that the game becomes tiresome before I even begin. There is just enough instruction to give the happy player a chance to succeed. I also enjoyed the extra tasks of finding special items. I usually play relaxed for a while until I get the feel of the concept, then go into time play. I found that helpful with this fun game.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Rather sad attempt This feels rushed and rather carelessly put together because it desperately needs spell check and an editor. This is a shame because good time management games are needed and this certainly does not fill that need. A real let down in the series. Maybe they will take more time and effort with the next one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just okay Never played one of these before, but so far, I'm very confused by it all. There's not enough explanation on what I'm supposed to do, so that I spend half the time wondering where I'm supposed to get something from. I'm only level 8 and I'm so confused as to how to get the clay bricks that I'm just bored with it all. I like a challenge, but making me figure out how things work isn't the way to do it. At least, not for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Features but still lacking I LOVE time management games and I wanted love this one, but after an hour of play I don't plan to purchase the game. I really like that there are a lot of options and using strategy is a must (that's why I gave it 3 stars). Somehow though, the graphics and the click action are downright annoying to me, to the point I couldn't continue playing. Also, collecting the "potions" and "hidden guy" every level seemed pointless even as bonuses (and aren't acknowledged on the completion screen at the end of each level). Also, a huge screen pops up when you click on them that you have to click OK every single time and this can really disrupt the flow.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meh... I love time management games and have enjoyed this series in the past. This game, while offering good graphics, falls short. The storyline has been used many times before so nothing new. Some of the sense of it is lost in language translation. My biggest complaint is too much trial and error, rather than strategy. Spent too much time trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do and in which order. I know that's what time management games are all about, but this one doesn't seem to have any logic behind it. Sad to say I'll pass on this one...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's an o.k. journey not incredible I love this series, but first I would like to say I completed the whole CE on another site, and it's NOT CE worthy. I didn't pay for this game, my pass covered it. After playing the whole game, and knowing what I know, I wouldn't even have bothered using a P.C.C. on it. I just played the game out of boredom after playing the first few levels. You have 40 levels on the main game, and 10 on the bonus chapter. There is a strategy guide. To get to it, you have to go back to the main menu where you put your name, then go into extras and you see the guide there. That's how it was in the version I played. Totally inconvenient. I didn't know it was there till I finished the game. I know on the introductory on Big Fish it states that each world is more fantastic than the last, not to me it wasn't. Actually, only the background changed a little. For collectibles, there's an odd bottle of potion, and a little thief to pick up. You will see his eyes poking out of the ground or walls and that's when you click on him. I never once said anything about the grammar and let that go with the understanding that English isn't the dev's native language, but in this game I had to read parts of it twice to understand what it was saying. Words were in sentences that didn't belong for example. Dev's, please, if you want to sell a CE, either get a grammar check program, or a beta tester who's fluent in English. On the main game there isn't no VO's, or at least in the version I played. Story: On one level you are playing, Aerin sees a man flying out of a portal, and that's how she met Tillian. He is an alchemist. Aerin agrees to help Tillian get back to his homeland, but the portal keeps taking them to the wrong places. It's an o.k. journey, not incredible in my opinion. Bonus Story: Aerin gets kidnapped and Tillian is on a mini journey to save her. I truly loved the others, but this one fell very short for me. The bonus chapter in my opinion is not worth the extra 2 bucks.
