Double Clue: Solitaire Stories is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from kept me guessing I was really torn about who actually committed the murder. Kept me guessing until the last. Fun game play. Love being able to switch game mode. I like 14 solitaire and I like up down so I could play however I wanted on every hand. If you prefer match solitaire you can choose that too. You get way more wild cards and money than you will ever need. Great game- enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this game! I really am enjoying this game! But it is a double edged sword. I can hardly wait to see what happens in the story line - but when I find out who killed the old guy - the game is over! Everything about his game is terrific! I hope they make more of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Creative thinking Solitaire game Yes, it was a little too simple. Yes, it did lock up a couple of times - easily remedied by restarting the game. BUT, no ghosts, kingdoms, monsters, evil spirits, purple smoke, or other same ol' same ol' so I really liked this game. A straightforward mystery within a solitaire game. Very welcome change from the usual. Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally an interesting Solitaire Game! I usually don't review games, however, I had to try this game and found it to be a lot of fun and quite different! It was a must buy for me and I can see having much fun with it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's not your ordinary card game! It's GREAT! When I saw this game offered today, I thought to myself, "Oh, great - another golf game. Ho-hum.". I decided, however, upon reading the game description, to download it and give it a go, and I'm really glad I did. It's FUN! Yes, you do play Golf - the one-up, one-down game, but, you also can play match-2 games - king with king, queen with queen, AND, you can play a 14-Sum game - you remove pairs of cards that total 14 - a king with an ace, a queen with a two, and so on. If you have a favorite of those three games, you can play ONLY it, or, like I am doing, you can choose "mixed" mode - you are given the opportunity to play all three games, and I like that. It's not just one game over and over again. There are 4 power-ups available in the game and they load during game play. I'm not certain what they do because I haven't needed one. There are also "try your luck" cards. You click on one and see what happens - I have managed to wreck my police car a few times and that slows the power-up loads or removes on entirely for a time. I've also gotten "informant" and that is a good thing - you get money/points for that. If you forget which mode you are playing, there is an arrow above the deck that will remind you. It's also useful for the Sum-14 game, in case you forget which card goes with which other card. I've only played for about an hour, but I'm really, really enjoying this one. There are wild cards, of course, and each hand starts with an undo available and you can buy more if need be. I haven't had to do that, either. There are wild cards in each hand and there are "locked" cards that need a "warrant" card to unlock. There are just all kinds of fun things in this game. If you want to play a solitaire game that gives you options, this is it. If you want a game with a good story, this is the one. The artwork is great and the game is bright and easy to see. If you're tired of the same old solitaire games, try this one! It offers so much more than most.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun Mystery At last, developers who take solitaire seriously and have created an interesting game. It gets so boring to click-click-click solitaire games. I appreciate the plotting and writing of the mystery in this one. I do prefer the up and down solitaire game so I stick to that but if I get bored, I can change to "14" or "Match." The music is repetitive but it has an underlying darkness to it as do the graphics/colors and I like that. Bought it and will go back to play it now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WHODUNIT SOLITAIRE The wealthy industrialist, Nicholas McCullen, was found dead in his office this morning. Your team of investigators must search for clues to determine if Mr. McCullens' death was an accident, suicide or a murder! (cue music....dunt dunt dun) How do you investigate? By playing three different types of Solitaire games, of course! You can choose Regular Simple Cards or Themed Cards which have various weapons or investigative equipment on them. You can choose from 3 different types of Solitaire games, or you can choose to have all 3 Mixed together. The first type is Pair Solitaire which requires you to match pairs of cards either with each other or with the deck card, suit doesn't matter. The second type is 14 Sum Solitaire which requires you to select two cards whose sum is 14 when added together. The third type is Traditional Solitaire where you choose cards that are one number Higher or one number Lower than the previous card, with the goal of trying to make as large of a chain as possible to boost the multiplier bar. You choose which Agent you want according to the type of Solitaire game you want to play, The Investigation part begins as you play Solitaire hands until you earn the required amount of Gold Clue cards. Once you uncover the Gold card, a single click will remove them, and unlike many Solitaire games with a Gold Card feature, you continue to play until all cards have been removed, or attempt to remove them. In other words, you don't automatically win the hand just because all Gold Cards have been removed. (a feature I don't like) Once you have earned the required amount of Gold Clue Cards, you play a Reveal game of Solitaire, to find the Reveal card and read about the Clue you found and how it pertains to the investigation. Power Booster Cards are located at the bottom left as "Agents" that can be used after they charge. You can use them to Remove any Gold Card, Remove any Closed Card, Remove ant Open Card, or add 2 Random Wild Cards. Number specific Wild Cards are available in just about every level, and stored until you need that specific number. There are the usual Blocked or Locked Cards that require you to find the Key Card such as Doors sealed with caution tape require you to uncover the Search Warrant Card, enjoy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Novel solitaire game Other reviewers have described the mechanics/features of this game so I will not repeat them. I liked the choice of types of solitaire, the graphics and background noises and clues but would like to have had the choice of turning down the sounds and music rather than just on or off. I was also pleased that there did not seem to be any duplicate cards in the levels I played in the demo. However, I think there were too many joker cards and it was too easy to earn booster cards or buy an extra roll back so there seemed very little challenge at least in the early levels. Also the game froze when I used 2 booster cards to finish a matching pairs level on my Windows 8.1 laptop although it seemed ok when I closed the game and then re-opened it and it picked up from where I had got to. It is difficult to judge how long the game is as you need different numbers of gold cards to complete each level and this affects how many separate layouts are needed before you can play to get a clue. Overall I recommend the game if you can live with the challenge level.
