EXCELLENT MATCH 3 BEGINNING TO AN EXCITING TRILOGY Angelo was an archaeologist who built magnificent palaces for the Gods, his accomplishments were truly a work of art! All that changed when Angelo set his eyes upon Amara, a beautiful Princess on Earth. This angered the Gods, so they exiled Angelo to Earth.......as a mortal! He decided love is worth the struggles he will endure, but the Grecian King was not impressed. The King gave Angelo an impossible task, build a palace masterpiece in the uninhabitable corners of the kingdom, were only creatures dwell. Thus, you will help Angelo travel the kingdom searching for the most beautiful gems to to build the most beautiful palace Amara (and her father) have ever seen! I love this game, the storyline is fantastic, the music is surprisingly relaxing, and the gameplay itself is fun, I look forward to the next two games of this Trilogy. The goal is to achieve 3 Stars per level, you must swap tiles to make matches of at least 3 identical tiles, and you must clear all gold cells and the required number of resources. As you match elements, the mana meter will fill and allow you to use the bonuses. An Axe clears a single tile, the Potion Bomb clears a 4 tile range, and the Magic Pendant collects all of the same tiles you choose. Some tiles have chains or double chains that require matches of the same tile that the chains bind, once or twice for double chains, then again to clear the gold cell. Spiders need to be destroyed by making matches under them or they will build webs on several tiles. Some icons have bubbles around them and the image inside is constantly changing. You must click on the bubble to pop it before you can make a match, but you can wait for the desired image to appear before clicking which can help you win. The challenges each level presents is really good, whenever I am playing a game and get so engrossed in the gameplay that I'm surprised when the trial ends, I know it's a good one, enjoy! Classic match 3 game ! I love this game, First, i love relax mode on match3, and yes.. this game has no time up at all ! i thought there is a time bar before, but its just a bonus bar. Classic mechanic gameplay like craddle series, just fun! the story driven in a good way, bought the game on 15minutes trial without a doubt November 10, 2015
I really loved it but................... I played the demo and I loved it. It's fast and clear BUT I will not buy it without a relaxed mode. I can't rush to beat the timer because of my shaky hand. I am 75. November 11, 2015
The Trials of Olympus Another great matching game to play November 11, 2015
Nice little Match-3 From the developers of Enchanted Islands, Bloom, Amanda's Sticker Book, and others here on BFG. There is no need for a relaxed mode -- there is no timer. There is what looks like a timer but it's a Bonus Bar used to determine the number of stars you earn on each level. I played this trial on Win 7 Pro and it played smoothly. Tiles drop quickly and best of all, I can make matches as quickly as I see them -- no need to wait for the board to settle. There are the usual powerups which help clear the boards. There are also the spiders that spin webs to make things tougher. The good news is that you can drop them off the board by making matches under them. Their expression as they are dropping off is priceless. There are Boss levels which you win by making matches right over the head of the Boss as it is marching back and forth. I can't swear to it but I think I saw that the Boss levels are timed. He does put up his power shield where the stuff won't drop on him, but you can continue making matches in the other parts of the board to maybe set up big matches to drop on him once his shield goes away. The story is nice and the graphics of those scenes are good. The fly in the ointment is the M-3 tiles which although colorful and nicely sized, do appear less well-defined than in most M-3. The slightly blurry edges of the tiles are noticeable, but not enough to keep me from enjoying the game. Our winnings go to build up the new home of our hero (and his gal pal). There is no decision for us as to locating improvements, just hit the Buy button and it happens. I found a lot to like, so it's a buy for me. November 10, 2015
A FUN MATCH 3 GAME WITH A GREAT STORYLINE The Trials of Olympus is a match 3 type game that has lovely graphics, lip-synced voiceovers and a good storyline. Angelo the architect, who built palaces and beautified Mount Olympus for the Gods, has done the most unforgivable of sins; he has fallen in love with a mere mortal, the Princess Amara, and angered Zeus. In punishment, Zeus has clipped his wings and banished him to the mortal realm where he must now prove his worth to Princess Amara?s father who thinks he is just a common man who has dared to seek the hand of his daughter. With the aid of his Guardian Angel, Angelo must travel the most dangerous lands in the kingdom to build palaces and beautify them for the king. Not so much different than what he did on Mount Olympus, but certainly not as easy without all of his angelic powers. The game has no relaxed mode although the timer does seem generous. The biggest issue I had is that for some reason the tiles don?t seem as crisp as I like, and that might be because some of them were gray stones or bricks and lacked color. One thing that I did find annoying was the voice of the narrator saying awesome when I would make a larger match of tiles. During the gameplay we will acquire tools and use the resources we earn in the match 3 rounds to purchase items to beautify the desolate lands for the king. Depending upon how quickly we finish the level we will earn up to three gold stars. The gameplay was fun and because of the storyline, I enjoyed the game. It is not one of the best match 3 games I have played but it is better than a host of others that come our way. Usually I don?t enjoy games that have a time limit but for some reason this one didn?t bother me. Maybe as the game progresses I will find it more difficult to earn the gold stars in the time allotted. The Trials of Olympus is a keeper for me but, as always, I recommend that you try the demo to see if it is a game you will enjoy. November 10, 2015
Nice one There were a good number in this line before and I already wondered why the devs didn't make more of them. Well, here is one and it's real fun. Even the storyline isn't too bad and to me that's often superfluous and I hardly ever read or listen to those. I agree though with some of the others that the graphics could have been crisper and sometimes it's not that easy to see whether a red looking tile is now a beetle or a round ring, specifically once there are chains around it or it's one of the bubble ones. Gosh, has anybody yet figured how to turn of that silly and constant "Amazing!!" without turning the sound off completely? What gamer wants to hear that every 5 seconds? That's the main reason for me to not give this 5 stars, as that type of annoying interference with the relaxation is a nono to me and together with the slightly washed out graphics it detracts from an otherwise potentially very good Match3 game. What I like are the boss levels, the spiders and the bubble tiles. It's all stuff that sets this lot aside from the rest of the Match3 crowd and it makes for an interesting variations to an otherwise potentially boring match the tiles effort. Also the challenge level is quite good, which I enjoy, because if there's no challenge at all my interest drops in 10 minutes flat. Nice to see these devs give us another of their Match3 offerings, I have enjoyed them all over the years. November 12, 2015
over in half a day this game is pretty to look at. the game play itself is nothing special in the way of a match3. I finished it in half a rainy day (my game play is nothing to write home about). you cannot replay levels. you can only start over. there are just three power ups. I have to say (again) I'm glad it was a credit purchase. November 19, 2015
Too Cartoonish I really didn't care for the story. There are five areas each with a number of levels -- level 5 has 17 boards. The match 3 part was okay. You can gain up to 3 stars depending on how much time is given in each level. At the end of each chapter you have to defeat a monster. There are only three power-ups and be sure to use because they do not save from board to board. There are also spiders -- you need to match near them, and the typical chains, etc. I would try the demo to see if you like it. November 17, 2015
Nothing spectacular I had a free game code that needed used so went ahead and got this one. It was okay, just something to entertain me for a while. It's not difficult, does not have extended scrolling screen, just an average match 3. It was also extremely short, which disappoints me more than anything, I do not recommend unless you are a beginner or just need to pass a couple of hours. Why cam't they develop the real good ones as we've seen them before.an I o enjoy an excellent Match 3 on occasion. November 12, 2015
