Tricky Game This is a good game. You must use your "thinking cap" when playing this game. The Hint system is basically worthless. There are no "voices", you must read. There is a journal to keep track of information. I played with my relaxing music and had the game's sound off. I thoroughly enjoyed this game. It is not something that you can rush through. Give it a chance, you might get to like it. December 1, 2015
Relaxing HOPA with LOTS of easy to see HOPS ?Thank you for making this beautiful game- A human called Theron has fallen in love with Zeus? daughter Artemis. When Zeus finds out, he whisks Artemis away. You play as Theron on a quest to find and reunite with Artemis. PROS: *Relaxing *Lots of HOPS *Lovely Mediterranean, underwater, and volcanic scenery and Greek classical architecture CONS: *Not many ambient sounds *Not a very long game *Not for beginners or those who want direct hints rather than vague clues *No BFG walkthrough - You?ll have to use another, like YouTube- GRAPHICS: Has an oil-painting look combined with real objects look to it. Natural colors. Fills the whole screen. HOPS: 20 ? EASY to SEE objects. Straightforward word lists. Many are attractive to look at because of the oil-painting look. PUZZLES/GAMES: Only fix circular mosaics, 6-8, and repel various weaponry that is targeted at you by clicking on them, eg Zeus? thunderbolts and so on. SOUNDS: Music and Sound. The environmental sound effects are very minimal, but many of the tunes are nice. HINT: ONLY in the HOPS, otherwise the hint only gives you a verbal clue. However, the clue isn?t always for the next step. DIFFICULTY LEVELS: 3 MAP: NONE, but not necessary since game is divided into chapters INVENTORY: Remains visible at all times. JOURNAL: You get some pages of notes to document your journey. CHARACTERS: You meet the gods and characters of and around Olympus. No voice-overs, you read. The cut-scenes are narrated. July 12, 2016
Relaxing HO easy going game. Things I noticed: Graphics hand drawn, artists did pay attention to details. The objects are clear enough and the surroundings are well defined as well. This is not your regular HOPA game, it is a simple HO game with few puzzles to solve and a quest to solve. I had fun playing it till I got stuck in a place where a too-many-hands-giant started throwing spears at me and I did not how to disable him and the hint did not help whatsoever. The devs are doing their best to make a game that is enjoyable, I support them as they are just like any other gaming company started someplace and got better as time went by. Their effort is noticeable and when I find out how to solve my little game issue I will definitely get this game as I am a sucker for pure HO games. As always, do the demo and decide for yourself. I Made An Amazing Discovery In Ancient Greece.....A Roll Of Toilet Paper! Theron was known by all to be the best Hunter in Greece, and he met his true love, Artemis, during a competition. Their relationship infuriated Zeus, for no mere mortal will ever be deemed good enough for his daughter. To keep them apart, Zeus locked Artemis in Mt. Olympus, but nothing can stop true love, and Theron vows to free her, with the help of his two close friends. This isn't the greatest game out there, the graphics are mediocre at best, and there are no voiceovers other than an occasional narration between chapters. There are only two modes of difficulty, Casual with glints and fast recharging hint and skip buttons, and Extreme, with the opposite features, but don't let the word extreme deter you, the game is super simple. There are no frills other than 11 Achievements to earn, and very few inventory items to pick up along the way, and the hint icon will simply tell you what needs to be done not where to go or what to do. Again, the game is pretty simple, and I found it to be kind of relaxing. There are a ton of Hidden Object Scenes, at least one in every scene, and sometimes two, but the scenes aren't repeated in the same place which is a feature I don't like. The HOP's are all Listed Item finds with no interactions whatsoever. I found it to be very funny that the devs didn't bother to keep the items era related, there are rubber duckys, pinwheels, fruits and veggies not native to Greece, and yes, there's even a roll of toilet paper! The HOP's are so easy that I tried to mix it up a bit, finding items in a specific order forward and backward, towards the end of the demo, I was able to find the correct items without looking at the list at all! Again, it was kind of relaxing. The Mini Games are mostly puzzle variations, putting together fragmented pieces or mosaic pieces by rotating the pieces. There were also a couple of games where you had to click on music notes and flying Harpies before they reach the end or you have to start over. This isn't a horrible game, but not bad if you don't have high expectations. November 25, 2015
Decent Artwork in Bland and Inoffensive Little Game Human Theron is looking for his love, Goddess Artemis, daughter of God Zeus. So much for the story-line. Good Stuff: The artwork is actually well drawn, the locations look authentic, and the music does not grate on your nerves. Irritating Stuff: Several awkward English translations, inappropriate items in the HOPs (modern items in ancient Greece), super easy mini-games, and very basic game-play. (For those confused by the conflicting reports in other reviews, there are actually three game levels: easy, casual, and extreme.) This is an entry level game as you would have seen ten years ago. If you have a free coupon and want to unwind, this may be your game. November 25, 2015
A Good Time-Passer This is based on the demo. As the other reviewer said, there are only two modes of play, easy and casual. This is a very basic, mostly, HO game. I used a free game code to get it. Great game for kids or beginners. November 25, 2015
Based on playing the DEMO only I just couldn?t get in to this game. The Grecian storyline seems unlikely and I never connected to the characters. The graphics are actually really good; and at first I liked the music. I became quickly annoyed with minigame #2 which came right on the heels of MG #1. All the HOS are well organized and the items look like they should?. graphics great to see what you are looking for. The first cut scene had great voice actors. But most of the game seems to be thought boxes between the characters. Hint was NOT a helpful step by step. The music seems to run on an ever-ending loop of the same track and it?s almost like being stuck behind a slow driver?. you become increasingly annoyed while playing and you are sure why until suddenly it dawns on you. I became bored. This one just wasn?t for me. I think I?m just spoiled by all the other great games I?ve been playing here. December 7, 2015
A Bit Average ... Graphics & Sound OK ... No Fancy Frills Or Thrills Game ... Voice Bits OK ... Nothing Special Here ... Very Basic HOG Adventure With Repetitive Mosaic Style Puzzles ... Just About Worth A Voucher ... December 3, 2015
A RATHER HO-HUM HIDDEN OBJECT GAME Beyond the Legend Mysteries of Olympus is basically a hidden object game with minimal adventure thrown in to spice it up a bit. At its heart it is the love story of Theron, a mere mortal, and Artemis, daughter of Zeus. Of course we know that dad, as is the case with most dads, thinks that Theron is not good enough for his daughter and being Zeus he locks Artemis up on Mt. Olympus. Hermes and Hera seeing Theron?s misery decide to help him reunite with Artemis and thus our journey begins. The game has three modes of gameplay: Easy, Casual and Extreme. The settings are very basic with not a lot of options. Graphics are just mediocre and there are no voiceovers aside from the narration at the beginning of the game. There are HOS at almost every twist and turn in the game as well as many puzzles. Both the HOP and the puzzles are easy so there is not much challenge in the game. If you like straightforward HOS then you will most likely enjoy Mysteries of Olympus. For me the game is just a bit too easy and lacks the polish and challenge that I look for in a great HOPA game. It is a game suited more to players who are just dipping their toes into the HO genre and will seem boring to more seasoned gamers who suffer from the HOPA addiction. Even though the game is not for me, I recommend that you at least try the demo to see if this is a game you will enjoy. November 25, 2015
Where did they dig this up? Awful game. Perhaps if it were 10 years ago and this was my first game ever to play. Has a very old school feel to it and not in a good way. The graphics are dull and boring by today's standards. I'm not sure where they dug this game up from but they need to bury it again. November 27, 2015
