Nice Griddler With Cases To Solve This is a detective themed mosaic game where you solve 10 different murder cases by finding 12 clues for each crime. The pictures the mosaics create aren't always perfect, but each puzzle has three different colors and you can choose between Casual (numbers are crossed off one by one) or Advanced (numbers crossed off when all numbers have been solved) The clues you discover will explain the victim's name, age and cause of death, as well as the murder weapon used, the killers gender, name and motive, how cool is that! To sum it all up, this is a really entertaining game with vibrant colors and a storyline that progresses with each puzzle clue found, enjoy! February 1, 2016
Tri colour fun Good graphics, fun, 3 colours to fill in and all based on demo. I bought it immediately. I did find the sound effects annoying, so I turned them off. Sometimes hard to figure out what the completed puzzle is, but they tell you. Sticks to the storyline. Overall a good piccross (nanogram) adventure. February 1, 2016
A TOP-NOTCH MOSAICS OR GRIDDLER GAME Hidden Clues is another griddler or mosaic puzzle and this one has a fun storyline with great graphics. The game is detective themed and we will solve puzzles by finding clues to solve each case. What I like about the game are the graphics and the multi-colored boards. What I don?t care for is the annoying ping or sound each time we place a pin or mark a colored square. I really don?t get why everything must be coupled with some sort of sound effect. I can see making a noise if I make an error but aside from that I want background music in these types of games. The other thing I happen to find distracting is those bright purple pins to mark a completed square. Perhaps I am spoiled by a terrific multi-colored puzzle game that comes along every few months that I love and despite the couple of things that I don?t like, all in all Hidden Clues is a terrific puzzle game and definitely a buy for me. If a griddler type game is well-crafted, as this one is, then it will be one I will add to my collection. I find these types of games great time-fillers when I have a few minutes to spare. Because of the great story concept, wonderful graphics, multi-colored game boards, and a good level of challenge, I highly recommend Hidden Clues. As always, please try the demo to see if this is a puzzle game you will enjoy. February 1, 2016
Mystery Grids In this logic-grid puzzler, you're a detective who's solving several cases by searching for 'clues.' These are all solved by multi-color grids, and you can flip back and forth between colors to help you solve the puzzles. There are several hints, but if you make too many mistakes you get booted back to the beginning. Don't worry, you can choose a level, between easier (numbers cross off as you solve) or harder (numbers don't cross off until the end.) I loved the concept, and even though some of the clues really didn't look like the objects they were supposed to represent, this game was a blast to play. If you like puzzles with a side helping of mystery, this is the game for you. April 4, 2016
A MYSTERY WITHIN AN ENIGMATIC NONOGRAM GAME AWAITS YOU A BIG THANK YOU to BFG for offering one of my favorite genres of games. You need to solve a series of mysterious deaths in this superb nonogram puzzle game. (This game calls them "mosaics;" however, they can be called "griddlers," "O?Ekaki," and "paint- by- number" as well). Solve 10 mysteries as you play a series of nonograms. Having created a few of these myself (by hand no less) I am deeply impressed by the creative and innovative approach to these puzzles by this developer. This is one of the better entries we have had for this type of puzzle. To me, this is a must-have for aficionados of this type of puzzle. And yes, it doesn?t take a lot of sleuthing to realize that this was an IMMEDIATE purchase for me. This is a nice combination of nonograms combined with some mysteries attached. This puzzle game provides ten (10) mysteries to solve. As you solve the puzzles, you receive clues in solving the murder mystery. Quite ingenious! Some have complained about the colors: however, on my computer they are bright and distinctive. Here are the details of this game and how to play: ? Levels: Casual and Advanced. Grids will vary for each puzzle. ? Colors: The game has three (3) colored screens for each puzzle ? Autofill: There is autofill so you do not have to fill in the unused boxes. ? Each mystery contains several puzzles to solve. You will need to solve puzzles to get the name of the victim, the age, cause of death, the weapon used, the killer?s gender, the name of the killer, and the motive. ? Hints: Hints are given to you. ? Timed: This puzzle keeps track of the time you use in solving the puzzles ? Mistakes: You are allowed a certain number of mistakes per puzzle. You must restart the puzzle if you exceed the number of mistakes allowed. February 1, 2016
Mosaic Type Puzzles With a Mystery This game works like other mosaic type puzzle games. You fill out the grid to make a pattern. As you complete each grid, you get a small clue to the mystery. When a set of puzzles are finished you will know a set of facts. There are two game levels to choose from, casual and advanced. There are hints available and a limited number of mistakes before you have to restart. The story is really minimal - the puzzles are more challenging as they get larger. The bottom line? If you enjoy this type of puzzle game, try this demo. If you want to give this type of puzzle a try, this may be a good place to start. Have Fun! February 2, 2016
SOUND DID NOT STAY OFF It would have been a buy for me except for the issue with the Sound explained below. I loved the game from the beginning. Each grid uses three different colors for the squares. This makes the graphics and the completed grid much more interesting and being able to switch among the colors during play makes it easier to solve the puzzle. As with most griddlers, it starts out easy and gets increasingly harder. The storyline ties the solution of crimes with the successful completion of the grids. The first crime I played had several grids to complete before the crime is solved. Each crime must be solved before you can move on to the next crime. A specific number of mistakes are allowed for each grid. Exceeding that allowed number requires you to restart the grid. All grids in the crime must be completed, thus solving the crime, before you can move to the next crime. I find this format a lot more enjoyable than having to make no mistakes in order to receive a gold star. And solving a crime is much more rewarding than getting a star--nightmares from kindergarten. Hints are available and the mode of play determines how the hints are recharged, either through time or by the accuracy of clicking on the squares. I played the easier mode of having the hints recharge with time, although I don't know why I picked this option as I rarely use hints when I play. I played about half the demo, then exited and came back later to finish it. When I started playing it, I turned the music and sound off, as is my normal practice. When I returned to the game, the sound (not the music) was on even though the Options menu showed it was still turned off from my previous session. And no matter how many times I exited to the Options menu to check it and slide it on and back off again, the Sound persisted. And it was an annoying "bonk" everytime I clicked on a square. Not Perfect For a griddler, not bad. I didn't even listen to the music due to the other comments. No big deal there. The puzzle is multi-colored, but each color is played independently - so you don't know the sequencing between them - not something I've seen before. But I was expecting that each of the clues discovered by each puzzle would lead to a deductive reasoning puzzle for each mystery. Not the case here. I think that would have added a lot to this game. I had solved 8 of the 10 puzzles in the free 1 hour, and that expectation got me to buy. February 6, 2016
FINALLY ~ A Griddler Game That Has it ALL! Finally! A mosaic/griddler game with great translation, a cool story line and NO PENGUINS!! This game totally deserves the praise it is receiving: ~ There is an actual story line, various murder mysteries that are solved bit by bit as you solve each griddler puzzle. It's enjoyable and gives you a break while moving from one puzzle grid to another. ~ Although graphics are drawn and two-dimensional, it is a pleasant change from the slow and choppy animation we see from another developer of mosaic games. ~ The annoying sound of tiles as they are being filled in can be disabled so you can enjoy the pleasant music while you play. ~ I especially liked that there is no scoring system. So it was such a treat to be able to use a hint or make a mistake without being sorely penalized. ~ The game is in understandable English. No weird phrases or strange translations. The only drawback keeping me from giving Hidden Clues a five star rating is that some of the solution colors are almost the same shade which makes looking at the grid a bit confusing. Also, I found the large purple push pins rather distracting and the color of the actual grid a bit too dark. Other than those few things, this is a charming, logic game and I highly recommend it! Good solid griddler game For those of us who like the logic challenge this is a good game. All are solved by logic. You can solve it without hitting the hint button not even once. There are NO power-ups (I am still fuming how all those powerups destroyed the Mah jongg games). The colors are not so pretty, but that can be overlooked. The story is OK (we do not care that much for it as long as the puzzles are good). Some of them are a bit too easy, but all it all, it is a solid griddler game that will please hardcore fans.
