Sometimes we think that if we could change something from our past, our whole life would turn out differently. In Backstreets of the Mind, join a man who has been given the ability to travel through time and change his own past. He'll have to face the mistakes of youth, the challenges of college life and the missed opportunities of the workplace to try and change the sequence of events.

Avid gamers will enjoy stylized mini-games with old game animations. Backstreets of the Mind features hidden object gameplay where you search for strange titles in locations which look like plain signboards at first glance. At the same time, you'll be trying to place the "right" thoughts into our hero's mind in order to change his destiny. All of this is accompanied by excellent original soundtracks and an engaging story.

  • Dramatic time travel story
  • Hidden Object with original mechanics
  • Mini-games stylized like old machines

Perfect HO for My Style of Play I am always happy to see a game offering that is mostly pure Hidden Object, with no adventuring to and fro. I am not a serious, dedicated gamer like most of the reviewers. I play in short intervals (15-30 minutes), often with a few days between visits to my PC. Adventure games where you have to remember where to go, and what to do when you get there, are frustrating instead of fun. If you like HO games such as the Big City Adventure series, the Park Ranger series, etc. you will probably like this one. June 6, 2016
Interesting and fun Backstreets of the Mind sounds like it should be a dark game, but it's quite the opposite really and I had a few chuckles during the demo. It's a traditional HOG heavy game with a great concept - going back in time to change events. During the demo, there were a couple of different locations, with the family home being a repeating location. This makes sense, as we start off exploring the man's childhood and the events he would like to change. After a HOG round, cards are displayed, showing the event. You then choose, from a selection of objects one item to change that event. The cards are displayed again, showing the outcome of your choice. There were two enjoyable mini-games in the demo. The storyline was very engaging and made me want to continue playing and change this man's life around. Overall, it was a lot of fun. June 1, 2016
Enjoyed it I started off hating the game but kept plugging along thru the demo.. It is now on my list to buy during the next good sale. I thoroughly enjoyed the concept and the story. June 5, 2016
Backstreets of the Mind It makes a change to play a game based on the past June 2, 2016
Delightfully Different Pretty much unlike most HOS games. This is just a really laid-back game for a lazy day when one doesn't feel too much like being challenged. Additionally the 'Zoom' feature made it even more relaxed. I enjoyed it. June 3, 2016
love challenges after looking at backstreets of the mind [demo] makes you think the game is a challenge but with some fun thought has been put into it. if all goes well, I will buy the game. June 1, 2016
Just my type of puzzle game I think this is a great game. Would love to see more skill games on Big Fish June 16, 2016
Is There Anything You Would Change From Your Past? Every important event in your life is the consequence of hundreds of smaller events that have occurred, to you and those around you as well. If you were given the opportunity to change events in your past, what would you change? After helping an elderly Native American, that's exactly what this man get's to do, travel to his past and change small events that will change the course of events for him and his family. This is an old school HOG where you look through scenes for listed objects. After a few scenes, you are shown several photos of an event that the man wants to change, and you must choose from three different items which one will be able to change this event to a favorable outcome. Some of the scenes have interesting features such as finding signs that have one letter changed which changes the meaning of the sign and you have to choose the correct letter. Between changing small events, you will play a mini game such as dragging letters to the correct spot to complete a sentence with clues given, or busting balloons in a carnival game. This game is retro on purpose, it's not a bad game if you like this style of game, but for me, it's just an okay game with a really interesting storyline. I found myself bored after a few levels of searching the same scene over and over. June 1, 2016
Interesting Concept-But... I found the concept of this game interesting-locate object that allow you to change events in your past. Unfortunately for me the objects are found in an endless series of HOS-and that is simply not my cup of tea. The HOS are well done with objects reasonably easy to find-there are simply just too many of them-for me. The graphics are "old school" the music loud & annoying. The description talks about mini-games-but in the 10-15 minutes I played the demo I did not see any. If you love HOS you will probably like this game. As always I suggest trying the demo first. It was okay This does have something to offer for Ho lovers. It has some unique interactions in the hidden object scenes. Offering mini games in between gives a nice break from searching. I just couldn't find that something special that makes me want to continue. The story line, imho, seemed like a grade paper. Playing the same scene 3 or 4 times right off the bat lost me right away. As always, play it for yourself. It may be just what you are looking for. June 2, 2016
