Secret of the Royal Throne is rated 1.6 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from I liked this game No bells and whistles. A game where all you do is play. Don't have to look for collectibles or morphs. Just relaxing entertainment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I liked it Pros: - The game is certainly old-school, but this is precisely why I liked it. There are no gimmicks at all, at all, and I loved it. I realized that I'm tired of the many gimmicks lately. The story line is simple but clear, there are no side jobs to accomplish. - The Indian setting and Indian deities were very interesting to me, because that's an enormously vast unchartered area that for some reason I hadn't seen in any Bfg games until now, if I remember correctly. It was a fresh idea, to me at least. I'm tired of monsters and beasts and ghosts and vampires and ghouls and goblins. Indian deities is a good idea and at least we're learning some real deity name in the process, I hope. Cons: - The voice-over of the female character was horrible. I only could listen to her first phrase starting with that shrill "I am" in the first scene. She spoke so very loud and weird, like there is some child, non-English speaking and underdeveloped person who is additionally deaf, in front of her. I'm not sure if her speech evolved later, as I muted the whole game then. She was a truly poor VO, sorry, and very irritating. - I wish I wouldn't have to drag and drop objects from inventory to be able to use them, but that's a small thing. Conclusion: I liked the game and thought it was good, I wasn't expecting to have such a little gem. When I came here though, I was surprised that the verdict of the pond was 1 star only. No, to me it's around 3-4 stars. I truly liked it much more than the undistinguishable series of games that we have here, since months back-to-back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from As my rating said - it is OK. Based on trial only. Good color and graphics. Can't skip the dialogue, have to wait for time to read. Slow moving game. I played the first level which the skip and hint was supposed to fill up faster but pretty slow even at that level. The hints are ok but only vague direction letting you know where to go. No map so you have to go back and forth to find needed items. I found that if I visited one scene and then moved to another I sometimes had to go back to visit a previous scene where items that I needed to move on were not there previously would suddenly show up. Hidden objects were ok. If you select an item in your bar at the bottom you had to hold it to drag to the proper place. One game challenge it was necessary to use arrow keys on keyboard which seems old school to me. I did not have speakers on so won't comment on sound.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't bother High expectations particularly based on cultural interest but expectations not met in any way. Scene discontinuity, childish challenges, very poor representation of Indian culture, accent, racial characteristics. Poor voice-overs. Not worth the purchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sorry One star is the best I could do. I realize it takes a lot to put these games together, but this needed a lot of work. Very irritating to drag items up from inventory and it keeps dropping before one gets it to go where it is needed. Voice overs were not good. The whole thing seemed hurried and did not flow well. No map and hint button is of little use.The graphics were not bad and the story line ok. This is one I will pass on buying.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not much fun Boring, very slow, no skipping the dialogue or cut scenes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The storyline is actually the only thing with potential. . . . . .otherwise, BFG got jokes!! I played the entire hour and, like a bad accident, I just couldn't take my eyes away. If the game is a 'first-time project' produced/developed by computer graphics/art students, then they get a pass. Otherwise, I would purchase as a 'daily deal' or 'catch of the week'. To those who "try and buy", enjoy!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Could have been better with little effort. I usually get these kind of games, even if I don't love them, because I have free game coupons to use. But this game is not user-friendly or fun! The skip takes WAY too long to charge. You have to drag items - can't just click and use it. The "dialogue" is awful - especially for the main character. I usually ignore that aspect anyway, but when the characters would talk, there is not a skip option. Not gonna get this one. With just a little "more" it could've been a nice diversion for a couple of hours. Too bad.
