Absolutely Fascinating This game will not please every player but I find it very wonderful and very different. We all complain of the sameness and cookie-cutter quality of games, well here is one that is indeed different. It is set in Palermo by a studio based in Palermo and the scenes are authentic and uncompromisingly Italian. The hidden objects pose a different kind of challenge than we are used to, they are often small, you may need to use the good hint system rather often as I have but somehow given the different nature of the objects and placements with still a pleasure in finding the ones that I do find. The viewpoint character is drawn into the mystery of the fate of his (pleasing for a change to play a male role) grandfather. The story is in the occult but somehow ,whether because of the setting or the way it is developed, I do not feel that numbing certainty about what comes next that I do with so many games. Having shared this to encourage you to join me in this game, I will go back to the door at the end of a secret corridor where I will press on with an unexpected pleasure in gameplay such as I remember from when I first began to play these games. *in current favorite I will note another Italian game I find wonderful but which is even more challenging in its play. Chalenging and different game This game is very challenging and so different. The mechanics might seem a bit annoyng at first glance, but once i got used and understood that i had to use the tip of the items stitched to the mouse, instead of the mouse pointer itlself, everything turned ok and i really enjoyed the game smoothly. May be it is a first attemp of a new studio, the story is intriguing so far, puzzles are hard, the graphics is very good! HOs are indeed challenging because of some items size but i could afford them using the zoom feature, which let me even scroll the scene while zoomed. I suggest to follow the tutorial at the beginning, even for expert users, definitely a buy. August 8, 2016
Wonderful change of pace This game is different from a lot of bf games. It is not part of a series, and I'm very thankful for that. I agree, the hiddden objects are hard to find. But you can zoom in on every part of the image. It helps a lot. And the storyline is very interesting. I find this game more challenging than most games I've played lately. August 2, 2016
Fantastic Game fascinating, challenging. Great adventure and hidden object game. Well worth the time and money. Loved it. August 1, 2016
Occultus: Mediterranean Cabal Another great hidden object game to play and it makes a change to play one on history August 6, 2016
a well-refined old school game If what you want is just relaxing a bit while clicking the screen, Occultus: Mediterranean Cabal is not the game for you. But if you like a real challenge with some clever puzzles, packed in a game with an unique atmosphere thanks to its setting and very well-refined artistic design, give it a try! Don't play just 5 minutes, but give yourself sometime to see the story developments and to understand the game old-school mechanics and puzzles (if you've played old Lucas adventures games you understand what I'm talking about: many enigmas pays their homages to Indiana Jones series). Read the diary, really well done and having all the hints you need to solve the game. Enjoy the beautiful hand-drawn environments and the great setting. Yes, the game has some flaws: the voice over is sometimes sloppy, there could be some more animations and in some cases the pointer is not perfect. But i've read the game has been made by a very small team, and I really thinks it shines between dozens of all similar hidden objects game, giving to playes having some patience a great challenge. hidden object game this game is a little challenging its visual and sound are good. the game is well put together i liked it and would recommend it there isn't anything i don't like. August 1, 2016
Let's investigate! This is based on 20 mins. of demo. There are 4 modes of play: easy, normal, hard and custom. There are voices and text. You can combine items at bottom of screen. You can choose your language. Hints and skips are available. Game takes place in Palermo, Italy in 1912. The HOS are interactive, although I only came across one in the demo. It has a cane puzzle, which you can skip - don't know about other puzzles. August 1, 2016
OK But Not For me Liked the storyline & thought the visuals were good, I did however find the music loud & annoying. I found the navigation slow & cranky, the map confusing & the hint button, that I had to use frequently, sometimes unclear as to where it was directing me. Using inventory items was also difficult as you had to click & hold to use them in a scene. The deal breaker for me was the HOS, junkpiles with tiny difficult to find item-hint-hint-hint-very frustrating. As always try it for yourself. August 1, 2016
Old School, Great Story This plays like an old school game with very tedious maneuvering within the game. You ultimately do find a "jump" map - lots of repeating previous scenes. If vision is a problem, although you can zoom in, I'd avoid playing this one. The puzzles, which exceed the HOGs range from simple to diabolical. The storyline is very intriguing. Knowing what I just told you, whether you try it or not is up to you. August 1, 2016
