Crime Secrets: Crimson Lily is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Origami, Anyone? I'm usually a bit hesitant about stand alone SE games but this one was brilliant. Yes, the story has been done before, but the puzzles, the HOPs, the hidden extras throughout the game and the nice length all made this a worthwhile buy (even though I used a free game code). I would love to see more in this series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This game is fantastic First of all, I have a 1920x1080 monitor and the graphics are fantastic. I do not know what the other reviewers were seeing but they did a fantastic job on graphics, ambiance, and storyline. This game pulled me in from the get go and yes it is a straight up detective game. I liked the hidden object puzzles where you had to find the item (a clue), click on it, then the item in the list was checked off. I also like the minigames as well. I would recommend to any hidden object lovers who don't want all the supernatural storylines.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enjoyable Very interesting story idea, but I finished the entire game in a day. Some of the puzzles were a bit difficult too, which I guess is a good thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great game! What a lovely mid-week surprise ... and was able to use one of my coupons! No need to elaborate on the storyline as this was well covered by the previous players and I totally agree with all their comments. This is a really nice game, not overly challenging if that is your preference, the storyline made sense, had all the hallmarks of a CE game, good length of game-play time, not too many HOP's and whilst some were visited twice, they were of a different genre, i.e. second visit usually entailed finding objects to complete one object, which I personally, enjoy. If, like me, you are not into being inundated with HOP's, almost from the start, then this game will definitely be enjoyable for you as I began to wonder if there were even going to be any, given the time of play it took before finally having to do one! A really nice game, lots of fun, couldn't put it down, sotospeak, enjoyable with a lot of CE benefits but without the "price tag". I definitely recommend this game and a perfect one for those new to this genre of gameplay, to start on. Have fun ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Out of the normal My goodness, what a nice treat it was to get a SE today that if I may quote one of our mod's.."charming". This game was well thought out, not HO heavy, puzzles were not too challenging, music was appropriate ( I was actually so absorbed in the game play, I didn't hear it at times) The graphics might be a tad' bit primitive, but they made an outstanding game. A lot of thought went into the game play. You do have to do some actual thinking. I also noticed that they threw in some hidden surprises, such as Easter eggs, and that was fun. As you can tell, I loved the game. Good job to all that made it! I can't leave this out, I didn't have the bad guy figured out. I was surprised! Detective, I am not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Paper Lily Killer Strikes Again! Well, there goes your two week vacation, there won't be any R&R this time. You didn't even get a chance to check in at the Scarlet Rose Hotel, heck, you didn't even make it to the main gate before you found the local sheriff dead! It's a good thing you're a detective who specializes in violent crimes, because there have been several murders at the hotel lately, including the owner of the hotel! You may have thought you've seen it all, but these victims were frozen to death almost instantly, and it may be cold in those mountains, but it's not that cold! The only clue you have to go by is a paper lily, gently placed on each of the victims. This vacation is anything but relaxing, this may be the toughest case you've ever tried to crack! Crime Secrets is a really decent Standard Version game, originally released in June of 2016. Usually, I prefer computer generated graphics, but I must say, the hand drawn graphics are stunning, some of the best hand drawn graphics I've ever seen. You even get to collect Snowflakes throughout the game, which I believe give you extra hints because they disappear into the hint icon. I thought I clicked on an origami swan in the first scene that did the same thing, but I didn't find any others during the demo so I have no idea what it was. I loved the Hidden Object Scenes which were referred to as Detective Mode. All of the listed words were covered with clouds, and you had to scour the scene to find clues and pieces of evidence. When you click on the correct clue, such as footprints, the cloud is removed from the word. After all the clues have been found, several tiled pictures of the clues you found are shown and you need to put them in the correct order that they happened (there are blue and orange lines to help you out by matching the lines) After the tiles are placed correctly, a short video is shown with what the detective believes happened in that crime scene. There are also normal interactive List find HOP's as well, and you can opt for a Mahjong game instead. The Mini Games are kind of easy, and I didn't notice anything new, but they are fun. Below are brief descriptions of the games you'll encounter during the demo: 1) reach the top hole with the belt by visiting each hole omly once. 2) Find the copy of the broken key by matching the other keys with their drawers. 3) Turn the safe knob either left or right to the correct combination using the clue you found. 4) Draw uninterrupted lines connecting wheels of the same color in 3 progressively harder puzzles. This is a decent game that is really entertaining and certainly worthy of a credit or taking advantage of today's sale, enjoy your vacation!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Common sense dictates--don't drive in a blizzard! I'm nearing the end of this SE version. I have a funny suspicion, though, that the killer may not be who we were lead to believe but then again, I could be wrong. We shall see! The bad: the graphics were more 2D than 3D (both were stated in the credits, but to me, 2D was more like it!) The artwork seemed more 20th century than 21st century. Also, trying to manipulate my mouse to accomplish some of the tasks was a bit quirky. The characters seemed to float like puppets, too. And I didn't like the profanity and/or swearing that was used a couple of times in the script. The voiceovers were okay not the greatest. The music was good except for a couple of scenes whereby the sound effects were so annoying, I had to mute the audio. The good: the innovative tasks, hidden object scenes, mini-games were very cleverly done. What I really liked was the evidence that you rounded up. You had to put them in the order of circumstantial evidence, if you will. The only problem with a few of these is I couldn't tell from the artwork what the heck some of them were or who they were. It wasn't difficult actually, but there again lies the fact that the artwork was average--cartoonish even. Needless to say, having the evidence feature in the hidden object scenes was a great idea by these More Games devs! They put a lot of work into this game for sure. There certainly was no relaxation for this detective, and as much as I love winter wonderland scenes, no way would I have driven in a squall on my vacation. But it's only a game after all! You will get a lot of bang for the buck in this game. I definitely recommend it. Try it out first.
