Edge of Reality: Lethal Predictions Collector's Edition is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from ~~~WOW! BIG FISH AND 4 FRIENDS ARE DELIVERING FANTASTIC ADVENTURES!~~~ I love the Living Legends series and Immortal Love, and now these developers take the genre to a whole different level. This is the second installment of Edge of Reality. The first one was Ring of Destiny. The opening of Lethal Predictions asks the question, "What if I told you that accidents aren't accidents at all, whether it's a broken nail or a plane crash someone's evil will is always behind it?" Welcome to University city and the extraordinary story of Sarah whose magic infused charm bracelet enables her to see into the events of the future. Events of horrifying murder's and the ability to change the trajectory of these murders before it's too late! Reviewers have already touched on Jacob and Charles with their involvement with the story. Now you are faced with the supernatural task of stopping a spirit of vengeance. A horrifying Banshee and she is cursing her victims one by one, fulfilling an ancient tragedy that dates back 100 years. The police investigation team Beth and Roy enter into the story after your accident and hospital stay, when they become suspicious of your encounters. They believe you have a personality disorder. Beth even tells Roy you need psychiatric help. You can't blame them though; they haven't seen future like you have. It's only after you see the future fate of police investigator Roy and what you must do in order to save him AND your father that the story plot thickens. You won't be alone though, Uni your dog is along for the journey. Uni is a dog lovers dream by the way and while using the bracelet may at times be a bit cumbersome it is a useful artifact that helps you progress forward in this quagmire of a quest. So if your looking for something beyond the status quo in this genre this game is for you! Phenomenal and riveting accurately describe this unbelievable adventure. Players of every level can enjoy this edition, so Demo and keep in mind that the storyline and gameplay really change velocity after the demo. I was pleasantly surprised just how intriguing and engaging this HOPA was, in spite of the rather easy puzzles. The hidden object scene's are exceptional, like the graphics and the voice-overs. The CE bling is the usual, with the exception of 44 transparent like masks you must find and the exceptional Bonus game at the end. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did and 4 Friends continues this winning series!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Explosive Story !! The population of Universe City is dwindling down, one accident after another....OR is something else going on here ?? Sarah, our investigative journalist will get to the bottom of it. She visits her father one evening after he calls. After her arrival, an explosion suddenly occurs and her father is injured. They both end up in hospital, but Sarah is uninjured and leaves, continuing her quest to solve this mystery. While in the hospital, I was very suspicious of Jacob's doctor. She seemed like a baddie to me. Only time will tell. Her father and his assistant told her about a mystical bracelet that can prevent these accidents from happening. The bracelet was previously owned by Avey who lost it when she was in an accident. So now Sarah is armed with a tool that can foresee accidents and hopefully prevent the death of others. I found using the bracelet so frequently to be very annoying, even though each deadly thing she encountered was very interesting and some of the ways she eliminated them were unique. She and Charles set off chasing monsters and it has given us, what I think is, an entertaining game with an unusual story. If you love dogs, you will love Uni. She is so adorable and her movements and mannerisms were so life-like. The devs really got it right. I enjoyed watching her antics, so that right away was a plus for me. The characters and the pet were done especially well IMO and the voices (to my ear) were very good as was the lip-sync. Far better than most other games I have played. The graphics were sharp and clear and colored with mostly blues and purples. Many developers over use these colors, I think, but in this game they don't diminish the quality of the picture. Although many things made absolutely no sense to me and some activities were silly IMO to accomplish what needed to be done, it was still an above average storyline which held my interest. I'm always anxious to solve weird mysteries, especially when adventure and the supernatural are mixed in with it. There were not a substantial amount of extras in this CE, but I found the strategy guide helpful when I was stuck on breaking the lock code at Charles' place. It involved flowers and numbers and I felt stupid, but my brain was in no mood to cooperate !! I saw that several gamers weren't exactly thrilled with this game, but I thought it had a different twist to it and it was fun. I think beginners can easily enjoy it and it will probably be no "pull your hair out" challenge for the more advanced players, but at my skill level, I was enjoying a good challenging game. 5 stars will do for this one. God Bless....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So UNIQUE The beginning starts off a bit weird, but it explains itself after awhile. The puzzles are all new and interesting. I only played until the trial was done, but it catches you at that point and you just have to see what happens next! I can't wait!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from STOP THE LETHAL PREDICTIONS AND SAVE THOSE YOU LOVE It has been less than a year since the first Edge of Reality game The Ring of Destiny was released and since I enjoyed it, I have been eagerly waiting for a sequel. However, when I beta tested the game for BFG, I had mixed feelings on whether it could live up to that first game but I decided that since there is a good 2fer sale, to go ahead and purchase Lethal Predictions. Although there are some things that I am not too sure I like, I still find the game to be very good. The artistic style and the graphics are colorful and quite clear with only a bit of mistiness when the artists felt it was needed. One of the things that I find annoying is that some of the voiceovers are very slow and dragged out, making them seem painful. Your tools include the integrated map and a special bracelet that you receive early in the game. As is usually the case with special tools, its use is accompanied by a puzzle to solve. The HOPS are my favorite type being mostly list with a bit of interaction. There is some variety included but, happily for me, the developers stayed with tradition. The puzzles are mildly challenging at times but for the most part they are not brain-numbing difficult. There are some good extras in the CE version of the game along with the standard stuff such as achievements, concept art, wallpapers, screensavers, music, videos, replay of HOPS and puzzles, a bonus chapter and the strategy guide. Some of the collectibles to be found are quite hard to spot, and, yes, I did cheat when there was one that I absolutely could not find. Although not everyone will like the game, it was perfect for me. We have yet another rainy wet weekend here so Lethal Predictions is the perfect way for me to spend the day since I can’t be out in my garden. Even though I have played HOPA games for over ten years, I still found places in Lethal Prediction where it was a bit difficult and I couldn’t find what I needed to do to progress. There are some gamers who might become bored with the game but I love it and am enjoying gawking at everything I see. Because I really enjoyed the first Edge of Reality game I hope that Lethal Predictions lives up to my expectations but thus far, I find it entertaining. Maybe because I am a dog lover with my own personal pack of Yorkies and a Chihuahua, I find the antics of Uni enjoyable to watch. Who could help but love a dog with big droopy eyes who wants to play at every turn? Edge of Reality 2: Lethal Predictions is, IMHO, a wonderful game but please try the demo to see if it is a game you will enjoy as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A unique and really fun game I don't usually write reviews, but I had so much fun with this I wanted to let others know. I have played several lately that I felt a chore to finish. In this game something is killing off the citizens. After obtaining a magic artifact, through our special insights we are hot on the trail. The Police are suspicious that we happen to show up wherever there is a tragedy. Yes, it is fairly easy but the story line is so captivating that I played it straight through - and I can't remember the last time I felt that way about a game. The heck with the dishes, floors and laundry. I'm a dog lover so I enjoyed Uni's antics, but that is really a minor part of the game - still, it made me smile. The puzzles were mostly fun and the hops had a few twists. You collect masks as an extra, and at the end of the game if you haven't found them all, you have the opportunity to again revisit the scenes where you missed them and try to find them. The dialogue is a bit too wordy, and a good musical score is lacking, but the art is colorful and the game is upbeat. If you like games that really task the brain cells this may not be for you, but after doing that all week at work I was happy to have a breath of fresh air.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Interesting story... Hi all! Been gone for a while, playing with our grandson. I see we have #2 in this series. As usual, I review mostly on the game play and leave the story line to others who do a much better job than I. Game play in this addition was very good, no problems during the demo and it fit my large screen quite well. Graphics are quite nice, with very sharp and clear colors. I really liked the animation, e.g. mouth and eye movements and I did not experience any lag or choppy movements. The one thing that stood out, was the dog. He had a black outline that made it look like he was added for an after-thought, but otherwise, quite good. Voices weren't too bad, but they could have used a little more emotion and urgency when something bad or upsetting was happening. Instead of a helper, we have a mystical bracelet. This bracelet points out mystical animals that require mystical items/animals to get rid of them. This bracelet is used a lot during the game. HOPs are very simple and straight forward. Nothing but interactive lists. Scenes were fairly clean and clear and items were not difficult to find. I did not see that you could switch to something else if you got bored with the same thing all the time. Puzzles were very simple and took no brain power to complete...no time either. Still, they were too bad. The only thing I liked about the map was the fact that it did show where a collectible was missed. Hint system is helpful, but did not transport to longer locations during the demo. The collectibles were a bit disappointing, in that we only had 44 masks to find. These are the challenging part of the game. They blend quite well and are more like an x-ray or film overlay, so are very hard to spot in most cases. Some scenes have one and others have two. A bar off to the left tells you how many you need to find in each scene. Definitely needed more collectibles. This was not a bad game at all. Simple, yes, but the story took an interesting turn right at the end of the demo...naturally. I frequently like to get simple games, just for the relaxation of it all. I did get rather tired of using the bracelet so much. I found that because of the story twist, I have the need to see how it plays out. I think most levels of players would find this one interesting. Yes, I will add it to my collection. As always, try it for yourself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and you may not care for this one at all. Thanks for the reviews.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Its all about Uni! I was prepared not to like it because of a review I read but it was fun. Need your gloves, knife and a broom to get rid of the cobwebs. Never can find a flashlight fully assembled, got to find those batteries! The best character was clearly Uni the Bassett Hound! Yay Uni!!
