Great Secrets: Da Vinci 1.4 5 5 5
This is not about Da Vinci, but .................. the Sorcerer's Stone and everyone's search for it. As you complete each level, you get to read a diary page of .... someone. It starts out as Da Vinci and then after several pages, stops cold and starts with someone else. But who is this person and what is the significance to Da Vinci? Further on, you learn he is interessted in the Sorcerer's Stone too. Again, stops cold and onto the next person. Who is he and what is his significance to Da Vinci? More diary pages that lead you to discover his interest in the Sorcerer's Stone. The graphics appear old-school, hand-drawn and painted. Perhaps, to give the idea of the time period. This is an HOG (hidden object game) heavy game. Levels upon levels of find the things on the itemized list, find the difference, find "x" number of feathers, or birds. Then, a mini game of "match the cards". The levels (chapters) are also timed. There is a clicking penalty that takes away time. The items are difficult to spot. An invisible goblet in a windowpane. A single flower in a vase of flowers in a picture about an inch high, or darkened items in a dark bookshelf. Impossible. There is a "tip/hint" button that recharges after a while. I relied heavily on that or I wouldn't have found the items in the time given and would have repeated chapters/levels, again. No thanks. The story doesn't flow well from Chapter to Chapter. It is not about Da Vinci but the Sorcerer's Stone. The HOGs are impossible without the constant use of the "tip" bar. Because of these items, and others, this is not a purchase for me . I do hope this encourages you to at least try the game. But, if you want to learn more about Da Vinci, get a book. Happy Gaming! September 18, 2014
Refund Button Please.... The worst thing i did with this game was buying it before trying it out first. Apalling and dismal all the way through. It made me think that this was probably one of the first ever HO games ever made, and if not then my goodness!! The description makes it seem like something out of this world! Don't waste your time, money or bandwidth on this one. July 16, 2012
Terrible No fun at all. The so called objects are almost impossible to find. Do not waste your time January 24, 2013
Great Secrets: DaVinci This game is the same as Great Secrets: Nostradamus, there's nothing exciting about this Hidden Object Puzzle game, the graphics are grainy, the story is merely written pages of a diary, and the same scene is repeated four times before you get to move on to another scene. Granted each time you revisit the scene it's a different type of puzzle, the first is a typical listed item find, the second time you have to find 10 birds or 10 apples, the third time is a "spot the difference" puzzle where you find 10 differences between a split screen and the fourth and final time you revisit the scene you must flip over two cards at a time in a memory game where you must match identical images. This game was too boring to even finish the demo. December 30, 2015
Great Secrets: What on earth are they? I originally bought this game several years ago when I was first starting out on HO type games. This week I was bored so I decided to go back to some of the old games. Now I know why I haven't played it since I bought it. What a waste of money. You need a magnifying glass to search the HO scenes, provided you can figure out what the items are that you are searching for. The very first HO scene - since when has an hour glass been called a 'sandwich'? Last I heard a sandwich was a couple of pieces of bread with some sort of filling between them. Please get someone to proof-read before you publish. Also the music is enough to put anyone to sleep. The storyline would have been OK if there had been some animation to keep it interesting. This game might have been riveting for a seven-year-old but not for the average player. September 18, 2015
