Tri-Peaks 2: Quest for the Ruby Ring is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Funny Twists I just finished the trial and decided to buy this game. I made the decision strictly on the very comical behavior of the little man at the top. It gives the game a fun aspect. Otherwise, it is just another tripeaks, including rubies, a climbing monkey, and levels.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tri-Peaks 2: Quest For The Ruby Ring I have always been a big fan of Tri-Peaks solitaire, so naturally I had to give this game a whirl. I didn't see much difference in the graphics, or the mechanics, and I was disappointed that the full screen setting was still a very small window that was a fourth the size of my 27" screen. The explorer is in India this time, trying to locate rubies. The solitaire cards are set up in a tri-peaks style requiring you to place a card from the board onto the deck either one higher or one lower regardless of suit. A lizard works his way up a pillar as you remove a chain of cards and if he can reach all the way to 3x the multiplier. When all cards are removed from each of the peaks, the gods will dump their gold coins for you to collect. The explorer will advance, if you win, to one of the four treasure chests, the fourth is a gold chest which allows you to level up. Each chest contains goodies such as wild cards, points and occasionally dud antiques. If you don't win the hand, the explorer doesn't advance and will get torched, fall through the floor or get carried away by creatures. A new feature in this game is explorer Ally who gets captured and you must clear 5 peaks in 3 minutes to save her, enjoy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from RELAXING BUT SOMETIMES ANNOYING I have to say that I find this game relaxing but at times VERY ANNOYING: *10 deck cards but not one of them comes close to matching the remaining board card *if you have a choice (say 10 or jack) to pick as your 1 of 2 remaining board card, at times it STILL doesn't matter as NONE of the deck cards would've matched EITHER board card to clear the board *Ally trap -- can't speed up the walking guy to continue playing but the clock is STILL ticking away; rarely have I "lost" her but it still is annoying *gold trunk is full of coins rather than a relic which prolongs the "stay" in a museum area; when you've got 14 relics to find for one area, IMHO, all gold trunk items should be relics Again I DO enjoy this game as it is basically relaxing but at times it's annoying as it becomes also boring at times.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Visually appealing Congratulations to the designers for trying to do something original with a tri-peaks game. There's a little man at the top of the screen that gets to advance on his adventure, or not, depending upon how well you play. (Think mini Indiana Jones movie with all the misadventures.) Graphics could be a little sharper, especially for the card faces. If you clear a peak, something interesting happens as you are rewarded with gold coins. It's entertaining, and definitely not too easy. I'd say it's worth a try.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mediocre Solitare Game So, Abby and her boyfriend, Max are jet-setting across the world (it looks like only 4 countries actually) to find the infamous Ruby Ring of Fire. Everyone is looking for it and she HAS to be the first one to get it. It's cursed - but - oh well. Max, he's kind of a dunderhead. Off they go. This is a solitaire game. Basic solitaire. Nothing changes. I thought maybe the game would change up when you reached another country but no, same old game just a different card back - yippee! I liked watching Max try to cross the ledge near the ceiling of the game board and the monkey climbing up the multiplier pole. If you won a game, Max moved on to a treasure chest where you win points. If you lose, poor Max gets zapped in all kinds of cruel ways. Poor Maxie. Periodically, Abby is strung up and you have only minutes to complete the Tri-Peaks to save her. I always managed to. As I said, boring. This is definitely not a buy for me but I do encourage everyone, especially those who like a good game of solitaire to give this hour-long free demo a try. Happy Gaming!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Windows 7 The game was great to pass time until I upgraded to Windows 7. Now I get a lot of forced closes, non-responsive start ups, and game freezing.
