Yard Sale and Decorating a House - All in One! Your neighbor left you her home when she passed away, as she remembered you adopting her as your "Aunt Bea" when you were little. But, it needs some work and so you're off using her tips and tricks to get the house in tip top shape. This is a game much like Mansion Makeover. BUT, with significant differences. You go to "open" rooms and find items for your yard sale based on clues you find in the local newspaper (i.e., flower show, fashion show, etc.). Once you've collected your items and have them displayed in your yard, you have to match the people to their items using the clue cards on the right side of the screen. DRAG the people to their respective items (took a while to figure that out - duh). After the yard sale is over and everyone is happy (make sure their happy meter doesn't run low), you use your money to decorate a room, again based on clues you are given. You can rate from 1 to 5 stars for decorating. I found this game to be quite fun. But it did appear that the rooms are limited to one floor, so I'm not sure how long the game is. I encourage anyone who has a flair for decorating or likes to "antique" or go to yard sales themselves to try this game. I'm sure you will find it enjoyable. Happy Gaming! July 6, 2014
is very nice as a game is very nice as a game, it would be nice to come out a new version. is very useful for those who need to learn English August 26, 2012
Different than your average HOG, nice change up! Loved this game! There was so much to do! You had orders you had to follow, but I just found it to be fun and different. My only wish is that it was longer! February 23, 2014
Too Bad Too Short! Very simply: You get to find the typical objects in the house's different areas and then sell them through a "yard sale" round to earn money. The graphics are great and the objects are big enough that you don't have to squint to find them - a big plus for those of us who wear glasses. I bought the game after the demo ran out and then finished it within a very short time - bummer! If you want a game that's good to pass away an afternoon, then give this one a whirl - you'll probably like it and want to play it again. January 19, 2015
An okay game, but rather short In the beginning, your character inherits a house from an elderly lady. In order to raise money for the taxes and to redecorate, you have to find items for your yardsale. Unlike most hidden object games, your searches have a theme (like 'garden items' or '1970s items') rather than a specific list. During the yard sale, you have to match the customer to the item. You're given a hint for that (like 'Santa - the man in the Santa hat - wants some new clothes'), but you have to work fast to match them as there's a timer ticking down on each customer. I think this was the hardest part of the game, and raised the game from an 'ok' level of challenge to a 'good' level. Without this, the game would have been rather poor. You also get to redecorate rooms to earn extra hints, but the furniture and furnishings are limited, so while you can replay that part after the main game is finished, it's not particularly interesting after a couple of plays. You get to play about 7 levels, then you can decorate the basement how you want, and that's the end of the game. I think it would have been more interesting if you could have played longer in order to afford more expensive or varied furniture. If you like fairly short, simple to play games, then this one will appeal. If you want something to dig your teeth into, you'll probably enjoy the yard sale section, but the rest won't interest you much. I've played it twice but it's not one I'll play over and over. Fabulous Finds Not bad, if you like seek and find games, and this one has some unusual features. Your Aunt Bea, has passed away and left you her house. She isn't really family, but the two of you became close when your family spent each summer right next door. The problem is, Aunt Bea owes some property taxes to the tune of $7,243.19 so you will have to search each room of the house to find garage sale items. First, you must read the local paper, the Carmel Nutshell and get information of the type of items you will sell to match their interests. Then you visit an unlocked room and search for several items that are related to that theme, so you will have to figure out what those items are. If you hover your mouse over the items, a description will pop up (some items are partially hidden, others are small) Some items are in need of repair and a listed item will be shown such as glue, for you to find to fix the item. When all those items have been found, you will have a yard sale. There are several characters who show up and the items they are looking for will be listed as a vague description requiring you to find the matching character and drag them to the correct item. For example, a Chef has hungry hummingbirds, so you find the character that is wearing a chef's uniform and drag him to the hummingbird feeder. After you complete this task, you can visit any unlocked location to decorate the room. A brief description will be given as to what the room should look like such as a bed with a touch of red, matching curtains, subtle stripes, an expensive floor, a matching table, artwork and a wall light. You choose the correct items from a collection and if you get all items correct you will receive an extra hint on the next level (you get 5 per level including yard sale) Lot's of entertainment value in this game, enjoy! Too short!!!!! One of the few games I actually regreted buying. The idea behind is actually very good, but the game itself is tooooo short. First you have the typical HO scenes, in which you find things in order to sell them at your yard sale, then you have the actual yardsale, where you give customers what they are looking for and with the money you earn, you get to decorate your house by buying various furniture. Sound fun, right?? Well it wasn't!!! To begin with, there are very few furniture options. But the really annoying part is the fact that you play the demo for an hour, and then you buy the game, only to realise that the game ends in about 10 minutes!! And if you want to redecorate your rooms, you can't replay the HO scenes in order to raise money. Like I said, the idea behind the game was good, but it should have been made more versatile and of course longer. January 7, 2012
