Ghost Town Mysteries: Bodie 1.9 5 22 22
Eerie and Creepy This was a cute little hidden object game with a very macabre theme. The H O scenes were very challenging, but the items were all there, with no misnomers in the list. The music was creepy, the storyline was macabre with green ghosts popping up everywhere. It wasn't rocket science but I really enjoyed. It was a light fun easy game with a dark and eerie feel to it. A Good Challenge I know that there are a lot of bad reviews for this, but this game is great! The audio gives a spooky feel, the visuals are realistic, and the story is intriguing. You enter this ghost town to solve the mystery of the death of a girl, but unraveling the mystery just leads to more. You have the ability to gather hints, and you'll need them. This is a hard game. Most complain about the dark HO scenes--adjust your monitor's brightness, then there are no more dark corners. Try out this game! Don't ignore it because others scored it low. You may enjoy it as much as I did. October 5, 2012
Original Storyline - Midwest Ghost Town This is a simple, straightforward Hidden Object Game investigating a haunting due to a young girl's death back in the 1800's. Very interesting concept. I enjoy basic HOG's, however, the hidden objects were too small and I did not purchase the game. December 27, 2011
Not the greatest I have visited the town of Bodie (It is in Northern California) and they have replicated it fairly well. The scenery is well done but the game is not that great. The hidden objects are hard to see and the minigames repeat. I didn't even complete the full hour-long trial. Great concept, not so great game. May 22, 2012
If only it could be better... I played the demo of this game long time ago but decided to buy this with free game coupon. I know the reviews are not great with this game but I decided to buy it anyway because I like the story revolving around ghost towns. The graphic, as many have said, is very blurry and dark. The mini games are repetitive: spot differences in photos (which are so impossible to see and the answers sometimes random), making puzzle tombstones, which are getting more difficult each phase. The atmosphere is creepy and that's what is good about this game, that's why I give this game three stars. At the end of this game there's a hint on next adventure but there is no news whatsoever. I don't recommend this game esp. those who don't like dark scenes. Hope the next one will be much better than this one. October 30, 2012
Difficult Hidden Object Game This game was difficult to enjoy. The objects to find were very small and hard to see. Unfortunately, this made the game more frustrating and I ended up not finishing it. November 24, 2011
I really wanted to like this game I love good ghost stories, and I love a game with atmosphere. I also had the incentive of not only wanting to buy this game because of the sale price....but, because of the dollar that would have been donated to breast cancer research. I do not mind games that are "slow playing"....sometimes that adds to the atmosphere; but a game where they limit hints, make the objects small, blurred hard to find, in just about every case....the puzzles as well as the hidden objects, well I start to loose enthusiasm. They were even stingy in giving us the prized flies that would give extra hints! Then all of a sudden a timer clock appeared.....I do not do timed games, I game for liesure and pleasure, not to beat a clock....or, anyone else. The last straw? I read a review that said that many of the solutions in the walkthrough were different the same as in the game......that many solutions were random. Oh well.....not my day to buy a game, no matter how good a cause. Some folks will like this game, I might have, but the devs put in too many strikes for me to ignore. October 2, 2012
This game would have been better if... I see what they were trying to do with this game. I liked the fact that is based on an actual place and a few actual people. It would have been a lot better if the HOS were easier to find and you weren't doing the same thing over and over Also if you actually had to dig for clues and read files and such, like actual detective work. I never remove a game from my games without finishing it but this one I had to, I didn't finish it. December 14, 2014
Boring. Not made well. I had actually purchased this in 2010, but forgot whether or not it was good since I didnt write a review on it. So I played it again. This is not a game that I will play a again. The tombstone puzzles were ok for the first 2-3, but having to piece together ALL tombstones (and there is a lot of them) was just plain ridiculous. On top of that, you had to find four of the same image on each tombstone (such as a pickaxe or bottle). Those were very hard to see. In order to go to a new building, you had to complete a tombstone. When you go to a building, you need to find 3 flies outside so you can get a hint. Then you have to open the door with the key that you get from each tombstone. Then complete the HOS in order to get the next bag of tombstone pieces. This is the same routine for every single house and every single tombstone. That is the entire game. You dont go walking around from area to area either. The graphics were "ok", def not the best. The sound/music was good. The HO scenes were ridiculous. Many of the items you cannot even see because it is stuff in a dark part of the area or blends in too much with other objects. Example would be a black bowtie. In one of the HO scenes, that was finally found on an object that was also black. Had to use a hint for that. Some of the house had one extra room where you had to find differences in 2 photos. The photos are all black, white, and tan. Very hard to even see the differences. If you exit the scene before finishing HOS or matching, you had to start the whole scene over. You are only given 2 hints in the beginning, and then once they are used, you have to find 3 flies outside buildings to get 1 hint. If you use the hint in the HOS, it takes 2 long minutes to refill to get 1 hint. So basically you walk in the building with 1, and for the most part walk out with 0 and have to search for flies at the next building. Pretty screwed up way of getting hints and reloading hints. No adventure or "real" puzzles in this game. Piecing together the tombstone which is much like a jigsaw puzzle and and finding differences in photos in only a few of the houses is the only type you do in this game. I dont recommend this game. Boring. September 17, 2014
Very hard to find the hidden objects To find the hidden objects they are very tiny and very hard to find. There is to much stuff in the picture. When put the headstones back to get the key to the door, it is very hard. I do not recommend this game. October 2, 2012
