Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rather Different I found the story line very interesting and the tasks to complete along the way most enjoyable...had fun fixing up the lovely house with HOG along the way...wish it lasted much longer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thanks reviewers - I almost bought this. This is why I review games - old and new. Because there are people out there, like me, who do rely on what others have to say about a game after having played it completely. So, thank you to those who struggled through it and lost your money on it. I thoroughly enjoyed the game play. Although, I do concur that the "mini games" were idiotic and not mini games at all. I felt that once you got past the initial verbosity it was an ok game. I liked it. But, the first time I replayed an HOG (hidden object game), that was it for me. I liked the demo well enough but, after reviewing the reviews, decided not to purchase the game. I don't take the negatives only, either. I look at the overall reviews. How many 4 and 5 stars (together) there are as opposed to how many 1, 2 and 3 stars (together) there are and if there are more bad than good, well, I'd like to know why. And, most of the time, I follow the advice of those reviews. So, not for me and not going to recommend because the 4 stars was for the demo only. My feeling, enter at your own risk. Happy Gaming!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from TOO MANY SIDE PLOTS LEFT UNEXPLORED This game was pretty short and had some annoying mini games that only required you to be able to move the cursor around an area. For instance, you needed to clean and polish a sink. This task required only that you could move the cursor over the sink twice without missing any spots. There were several of these kinds of puzzles that were time wasters. But without them, the game would have been even shorter. None of the mini games or puzzles were the least bit challenging or unique. The HOS were ok. Not having that many locations, the locations were revisited several times. Even though different items were used, it still became boring to return to the same scene over and over. The HO weren't too hard to find; I did not use a hint more than once or twice. The available hints were not based on time passage but on finding little houses hidden in the scenes. A maximum of 5 hints were allowed at a time, so finding more houses was worthless. Again, the game was short but could have been a lot longer if various sub-plots had been explored. Which boyfriend would Mary Kay select? What happens to Ella Kate? What happens to the house? This game might be worth a coupon but only if you have to use one quickly before it expires or you have so many you don't really care what you use them on.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy little HOG I played 50 minutes of the trial. It's a good time-waster, but nothing more. While playing the game, I actually found myself wanting to finish it, but after reading the reviews, I decided against it (short, no real end, you don't get to finish the house)! The hidden object scenes are okay, although it seems that the "miclick" counter that comes up after each scene doesn't work correctly - I made one inaccurate click and my accuracy drops to 60%? The minigames were hardly that, only holding your mouse and dragging it around. It would've been nice if we had had the option to choose between different options - wallpaper color etc. As many people before me said, there is way too much dialogue that's not relevant to the story, but I have to admit that I have never read a Mary Kay Andrews book, so I don't know whether this plays a part, too. Overall, this is a game purists could play when there's nothing else around, and when this game is on sale!
