Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 46.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really captures the real Alice in Wonderland! (Please note: I played the easier, "untimed" version.) I've played several of the "Alice in Wonderland" games, but this one is, far and away, closest to the real story and the strangeness of Wonderland. Most of the important scenes are here, and most of the characters. Some of the scenes are in a kind of super 3D, and almost all the rest are very skillfully drawn, and pleasant to play. You're only allowed to keep a max of 6 hints in reserve at any given time, but if you use one, another one can easily be found quite soon afterwards. Most of the mini-games were okay, although there were way too many of the "mixed-up pictures in a frame," most of which I just started skipping as soon as it was allowed (3 minutes.) In general, I just think that there was actually a great deal of thought, imagination, and creativity to this game, and the purposely-strange perspectives in a few scenes really made me feel like I was in Wonderland!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fun HOG! Highly recommend This has to be one of THE best HOG I've played. Love the bright, easy to see objects. The graphics are outstanding and gorgeous. Creators have great imaginations and it's so beautiful and fun to play. For me a more beginner it was still challenging but still simple to play. I like how some of the mini-games the background could be slided with the left click to show more HO. I think this would be simple for kids and as mentioned the graphics are so awesome that they'll just enjoy looking at the scenes. It's like looking at an awesome picture book. Again, highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smart HOS game This is not so much and adventure game, as a HOG with enough story go forward. The story retells "Alice in Wonderland" which seems a natural for this game. The HOS settings are quite original (try to pick up objects as you see a scene distorted by appearing to fall), You need to manipulate settings (including moving trees) to find objects. It is all "Alice" related as are the minigames. A real delight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Follow The Rabbit Alice What! I can't believe this game got such poor ratings, what a clever HdO game. Alice and her sister have followed that famous rabbit into his lair full of very clever and fun hidden objects and unique puzzles. This is one of the few directional scene games I loved, usually I'm not a fan of the click, drag and zoom into the entire scene games. You can earn extra hints by finding gold stars, a minimum of 6, so don't be afraid to use a hint they are easily obtained in the next scene (if not in the current scene) Some of the scenes have several of one item to find such as 8 blue butterflies, 8 white butterflies or 2 green doors, or 6 red doors. I loved the puzzles, and there were a ton of em, each puzzle had more pieces and became more difficult, some required you to swap tiles some required you to swap tiles and rotate the pieces. My favorite one by far was the puzzle of the rabbit as seen through a keyhole. For some reason this one was really hard, perhaps because of the 3 dimensional picture it was difficult to figure out at first how a large tree fit into the top of the puzzle. One unique aspect I noticed was when Alice was following the rabbit via a large hole in the ground and she was looking down into his house and rooms, it was an interesting view I haven't seen before. I thought this was going to be a game suited best for young kids, either I'm getting younger, or this is a game for everyone, enjoy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from WORTH THE EFFORT I agree with a lot of the other reviewers; the items are very small and often difficult, if not impossible to find. There was one item in particular that I don't think anyone could have found without a hint, at least with the naked eye, even with the scene zoomed in. It was a white butterfly on a white cloud. Hints are limited to a maximum of 6 unused at any one time (not for the whole game). The game starts with 3, but when you find a gold star in a scene, that adds a hint. Once you have accumulated 6 unused hints, no more stars will appear, but as soon as you use a hint and drop below the 6 maximum, another star will appear, usually in the next scene. I didn't find out this information right away, so at first I was leary about using a hint at all. But once I used the first one and figured out the system, then I used a hint sooner rather than later. Even some of the mini games were difficult. At the end of the hour, I was stuck on a jigsaw puzzle that had so many options to it that I was just about ready to skip it. You could swap pieces, you could rotate pieces (or the whole puzzle) and you could slide the rows and columns back and forth and up and down. I was never able to find that one piece in the right place so that I could build from there. If I remember correctly, the skip button becomes available after 3 minutes (or was it 5), so my frustration would not have been limitless. So, enjoy the story and don't be intimidated by the hardness of the game or the limited hints. But be sure to play the demo just in case looking for tiny items is not your thing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lewis Carroll would be delighted I love PC games that bring a favorite book or character to life (if done well). I would say this is done very well; interesting as an HO game; just fun and relaxing on a day when you want to kill a few hours effortlessly. The graphics are nice and even if you know the story line, that won't spoil anything for you. Worth the money - just plain fun.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nothing Wrong with Tedium I DID like this game...The upside is that it's lovely to look at and after espying the magnifying glass with the PLUS sign in it...DUH...I went closer in on a scene and could actually SEE the objects. As my title states, some, like most of it, requires alotta patience because of solely of hit and miss. I don't care...I found that a little tedium some how is relaxing. I bought the game for $2.99 and I am having fun, albeit tedious, time!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Agree with others This was a fun game and held my interest, but I agree that the graphics were not as good as others in this genre. I also had to use my reading glasses to "find" many of the items, tilted and nigh contrast screen engaged. This would be a better game for kids with 20/20 rather than an old *art like me.
