Dreamscapes: The Sandman is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 164.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sometimes on a rainy day... (and in Sweden July offers plenty) I find myself reading lots and lots of reviews on BF to find the game I want even if it isn't a new one....Whenever you find a gem it is such a joy and this one is a super gem! I wanted a point and click game, no HOS today thank you, good graphics, great psychological story and great animations...Got it all! Like other reviewers I think this being an SE is such a bargain!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dream keepers, catchers and a boogeyman Sandman all in a must have game. I've had this game a long while and decided to play through it again. I had forgotten how much fun it is. The story grabbed me from the beginning and propelled me all the way to the end, which left me wanting more. The scenes are not gloomy long because after completing an area they bloom with vibrant color. All cut scenes flow perfectly with the play scenes and the voice acting is done well. I enjoyed finding the spying, creepy critters and the many Benny(s# along the way. The puzzles aren't difficult and most items needed to complete something are found in the area. #NO HOs!) I found the hint button recharged quickly. There wasn't a need for a map and there isn't much backtracking. I do recommend this game as a must have in one's library.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVED IT ! GRAPHICS & STORY: The sort I like, kinda artsy in places with loads of light n’ dark and shading (the style they don’t seem to be doing anymore, sadly). Many locations and situations with great perspectives and feelings of space. Nothing shocking, jarring or disturbing. Just constantly interesting, with a story-line that doesn't lose its tempo. The game is driven by an urgency to rescue Laura, from several different nightmares! I liked the all the various settings we are sent to: iced-pond, kid’sroom, giant mushroom forest, and about 6 other places, where nightmares have taken hold. The Sandman is done well, has presence without being horrific or cringe-wothy. The “Beholders” (eyes on the loose) are larger than in the second game of this series. Er…I think they did a good thing making them smaller in the second one of the series! In this one, I didn’t like the one that bounces up and has legs and moves like a Daddy-Longlegs. It scuttles faster too! The caterpillerish one is also bigger, and is like some wormy-leach thing. Oh well. I think I got about 90 of ‘em, of the 120 or so there are. ***DIVISION OF SOUND OPTIONS! Ambient, Music, Voice, and Effects.Nice music for however long I normally to listen to it (at the start, or re-starting after exiting). Piano and orchestral. ***The INVENTORY locks . –You have to look out for the padlock sign, because it’s BOTTOM left on the inventory, and not at the top of the inventory as is more usual. ***Doesn’t fill the whole screen. ***no lip sync (kinda funny ‘cause it’s so obvious in this game). ***Options are casual or expert. ***Some awards. SIDEWAYS SCREEN: In some scenes, you must inspect areas that extend to an inch or two beyond the sides of what you see, so move your mouse to the screen edge, just incase. The screen movement is slow, so there was no need for me to worry about dizzyness-induced nausea. HOPS and PUZZLES: When I enjoy a game a lot, I sometimes lose track of how many this and how many of that, because I get so absorbed in the game, so I REALLY can’t tell you how many HOPS or puzzles there were. OOPS Sorry!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't stop playing! I feel like I was almost half way through the game after the trail but I couldn't resist finding out how it ended so I bought the game immediately after the trail was over. It is more an adventure game than hidden object games since there are actually no hogs but the mini games are interesting. Each chapter is a different dream and I love this setting. The only down side is that the cut scenes were somehow a little vague and not the same visual quality as the rest of the game. There are achievements and collectibles, but I find the collectibles only useful in the CE version, which I think is only available on iPad. As always, I recommend trying the trail before buying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from VERY GREAT GAME The storyline is great. Visual effects and audio dialogue is clear and impressive. Not your average HO game, although you do have to find some things in order to progress in the game to help Laura. Stunning visual effects and a twist you will not expect. Although, for some, you might get a general idea. Other than that, you will be asking yourself at the end a few questions. Because there is an unexpected... surprise. Make sure to check out your achievements. And make sure to find all of the Beholders. The only thing I didn't like was how the words went too fast to be able to read. That was it! Overall GREAT AND AMAZING! Would never tire of playing this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No HOS???? I LIKE it!! This game has absolutely no HOS!!! And I LOVED it!! For me the HOS in most games are not my favorite part, my fav part is interacting in the world, playing games (which this game DOES have plenty of) and searching for stuff. So this game was perfect for me!! I wish there were A LOT more games withOUT HOS scenes!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from buy it! This is a great game..fab storyline, graphics etc..much better value than many of the more recent games and a steal at the current price. Sooo disappointed not to be able to find the sequel, which it truly deserved. The game maintained my interest throughout and mini games were challenging

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very fun and unique game!!!! I loved this game! Loved the story line and the graphics. I definitely recommend this game!!!! It has extras as if it was a CE which I love, hard to find games that has extras like that without having to pay extra. Fun fun game, and unique!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just wonderful That's the game I like to play: no annoying HOS, a good plot and a superb gameplay. A suggestion to people who complain about the arcade minigame. It's very easy to play if you use keys instead of mouse. However, if you don't really like action in a puzzle game, just skip it. It won't ruin the rest of the game and you won't be punished for that. Now I just can't wait for the sequel, and, please, make more puzzle games WITHOUT hos. Please...
