Customer Reviews
The Saint: Abyss of Despair is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from BELIEVABLE AND LIKEABLE CHARACTERS Thoroughly enjoyed this game. Great atmosphere from the start, with an introduction that sets the whole scene. Creepy & well made with not a dull moment. The type of graphics I love. You’re in Africa! A big house and a village, set in the middle of nowhere. Loved the whole thing. A grown up type of story, rather than teenage horror stuff or fairy tale. Will DEVS ever start making games like this again, with normal colors and stories with depth? I hope so. I’d love more games like this. GRAPHICS: Clear. Filled the whole screen, but I used aspect-ratio adjustment, because it looked too stretched out on my computer. HOPS: 10-15, word-lists with a few objects requiring interaction. PUZZLES: Mainly easy. SOUNDS: 2, music and sound. Great background sounds, and separate to music. Music evokes Africa and was appropriate and enjoyable for however long I listened to it. HINT: Will lead you, but not show you what item to use. Takes 30 seconds or so to recharge on Casual. Your other option for difficulty is Expert. MAP: NO map INVENTORY: Not lockable JOURNAL: Yes CHARACTERS: 4 main characters. You play as John the ex-believer. There is no lip-movement when the characters speak.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ordinary story in an unusual atmosphere I liked that the game uses a different campaign setting than a typical game. It is not complicated and some puzzles pass too easily. But in general, the game exciting. Enough for me to buy a SE!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from VooDoo Is What the Entire Story Consists Of If you do not like games with voodoo in them, you will not like this game at all. I am not a fan of this genre and wish there were less of them and more good mystery stories without all the ghosts/witches/demons etc. However, as far as the story itself goes, it did keep my interest. Which is a good thing because there was a lot of talking in the game. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I did not think the voice overs were that bad. I thought they were interesting to listen to. I just spent the day playing the game and it was a decent length. There were some fun mini-games that I enjoyed and the H.O.s I thought were very entertaining. It was easy to navigate through the game and I didn't miss not having a map at all which I usually rely heavily on in most recent games. I remembered where an item needed to be used 90% of the time as soon as I collected it. (The inventory was not overloaded) I got the game on a deal of the day and I thought it was worth the $2.99 I paid for it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but different. This is a very different type of game. Graphics, story line and mini games are interesting and different. Mini games are easy. Worth playing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from cute fun and easy This would be a good game for beginners. Cute and fun with no real challenge. The hint button works well if needed. Good flow with not to much running around at all. The HOS are easy and so are the puzzles. Just a fun game. The talking and reading is slow.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Another demon story But this one goes above the direct approach. The twists don't come until near the end. Music gives this game the African feel where the character is.
