Shades of Death: Royal Blood is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 42.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOTS of HOPS! Good atmospheric game. Beautiful artsy graphics. Really nice music too. Creepy theme, but only mildly creepy to play. You do see some dead bodies, but the detail is minimal. LOTS of HOPS! Most of the HOPS are really pretty to look at. The puzzles were fun. This game kept my interest, and I wanted to keep playing. The hint button will only tell you if you need to move on, and/what area to look at, but not what item to use. Like other older games, inventory doesn’t lock. You get a journal, and tasks, but I couldn’t see a map anywhere. However, it isn’t that difficult to navigate, since there aren’t too many different places to go to at any one time. Didn’t fill my whole screen, so HOPS a little more difficult to see. Overall though, still very enjoyable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome!! Well Structured!! Five Stars!! The only bad thing about this game are the undeserved negative reviews. This is one of those "diamonds in the rough" with the rough being inaccurate game descriptions. I say that with a lot of love for BFG and BFG Members as I rely on your reviews and recommendations. Totally agree with nicedoggie and wondered if this is the same game based on reviews. Only gamers who skip everywhere they can, might end up with a short game here. And still don't see how that is possible based on the numerous HO scenes that increase in complexity. The awesome graphics and artwork deserve closer attention and are downright mesmerizing. If gamers make short work of this game, they are missing the bigger picture and I suspect may have been expecting more gore than this "horror-themed" game offered. Developers artfully presented those gruesome scenes and so I did not turn off the game, but rather, was intrigued to continue. On the same hand, did not rush forward in fear of what was around the next corner. lol Story and HO scenes develop from easy-going, then increases in complexity and intensity. HO scenes straight forward and not interactive, thank goodness! No long-distance running throughout. Journal keeps you informed without being over-helpful and not so much reading. A bit of a maverick myself who speaks the truth, I believe most gamers prefer this type of playtime--not too long, not too short; very interesting plot, great artwork and makes you want to come back for more! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this game .This game is a lot of fun. It takes you on a journey to different times and different storylines. I played the demo and was sucked into this game in the first five minutes. I knew that I would be buying this game and sure enough I did. - Great graphics - Fun storylines - Fantastic HOS - Great mimi games (hard enough to make it not dull) - Help button recharges quickly. Over all I give this a 5 star. Check out the demo and you won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great game! Shades of Death: Royal Blood is a fantastic, spooky game without being overly morbid with a happier-type ending. The graphics are excellent, story well plotted and gameplay varied and fun.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good story! Fun and relaxing! I enjoyed this game. It was laid back. The graphics and music were really nice. The puzzles were good. The story kept my interest and was put together well. After playing the first two areas I found the captain/dock play time a bit short . Adding a little more to do would have rounded this area out nicely. Over all I recommend this game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from An Enjoyable Game ... Good Graphics, Sound OK With A Few Nice Finishing Touches ... But Nothing Too Flash ... An Enjoyable Enough Vampire Story, But Sadly A Very Short Game ... Was Worth Using Up A Voucher For It ...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from An older game that is a nice change from the current interactive type HOS you get today I found this game entertaining and engaging. Fun is not really an option do to the subject matter - how can exploring scenes where vampires have been at work be considered fun? I found the storyline interesting and the lack of blood everywhere refreshing. Several scenes do include bodies but it was not overdone. You are contacted by your sister to meet her at a hotel but she does not seem to be there until you start seeing ghosts. Your goal is to prevent a vampire king from being resurrected and taking over the world. The HOS are sprinkled throughout the game with some fairly easy puzzles to deal with. The game is geared toward beginning and intermediate players but I think anyone would enjoy the game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just your basic hidden object adventure game This is an older game so you might be put off by the old style gameplay. The hidden object scenes are general word lists, with no interactive elements whatsoever, and the minigames are the standard fare and are fairly easy to complete. Although there's a journal and task list, there is no map but each area has only a few locations so the wandering around is minimal and a map is not needed. It's a short game overall but the developer is a well known one, so the artwork is beautiful as always and the story is interesting. I thought the ghosts that meander throughout the game added a mysterious element to the already mysterious atmosphere because they "talk" to you since live people are nowhere to be found. Eh, there's nothing new or fancy here but sometimes that's a good thing for those who prefer it that way. For the seasoned gamer, there may not be enough here to tickle the palate but for the beginning player this would be a fine introduction to the HOPA genre
