Elementary My Dear Majesty is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 74.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a HOG with real 3-D I've been wondering when somebody would finally make a HOG where you can move around in a scene and not just stare at a flat picture. This game doesn't give much freedom of movement, but it is a step in the right direction. The 3-D aspect lets you view scenes from more than one perspective and search for things around corners and behind objects, instead of just camouflaged in the background. Instead of letting you move all around a scene, though, you only get to view it at a distance from up to 3 slightly different angles, and you can zoom in slightly and pan around with a slight parallax effect. In this respect I think it tried to stay too much like 2-D HOG games so while the 3-D does change the experience, it is only a small change. The developer seems to have invested mostly in detailed objects and a lot of content, but skimped in the areas of animation and music. There is only one background music loop, used throughout every single scene, that sounds like it was meant to overlap every possible location theme but sounds more like an awful Camelot-Pirate-Polka. Many of the themes would be considered unacceptably racially insensitive in the USA, especially the African, Asian and Eskimo scenes, although it is apparently perfectly acceptable in Russia. If you have children that you consider to be young and impressionable, you may want to note that this game treats divorce, deception and animal cruelty somewhat casually. That reminds me: you should skip the "casual mode" and just play the normal game if you want any kind of challenge. The "casual" setting causes the game to let you leave a couple of objects behind for every single search. I found the game relatively short to complete, making it not really worth full price. (Note: there appears to be no congratulations for getting all gold trophies on every level.) This game IS worth buying during a sale, just to finally add another dimension to the hidden object genre.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Elementary My Dear Majesty This is probably the funniest seek and find adventure I have every played. The graphics ate actually very bright, colorful and crisp, even though the graphics are animated, it's obvious someone spent a lot of time perfecting the details. King Ludwig of Sky World has summoned the finest investigator available, which happens to be Felix the Investigator. Something or someone has turned Princess Mary into a hideous monster. The King likes to refer to Mary as a Rabbit, but she looks nothing like a cute fuzzy rabbit! Each level or chapter has a whole slew of tasks to accomplish such as finding tools, or multiples of items such as 10 apples and 6 melons. The task are given to you on a list in groups and once you find all of those items you are tasked with using those items to solve a small dilemma, usually in the form of a mini game such as putting puzzle pieces together. Some of the tasks involve using a remote control box to align a crane, or a cannon both sideways and the trajectory or distance. One such piece of equipment involved launching some very cute sheep from the main island to a smaller island section, I accidentally overshot that poor little sheep (whose name was Dolly) over the side of the island, I felt horrible! If you want to play a lighthearted game that has all kinds of tasks available, and you like a sense of humor, give this game a try, but don't launch poor Dolly too far, enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Crazy Little Game!! If you are bored with the same old games all the time, try this one! I was smiling or laughing from start to finish. A silly, unusual story, lots of quirky characters. The graphics were comical and colorful, and each scene was delightful. The game incorporated a 3D or panoramic effect which made it more fun and it took some getting used to. Things were hiding all over the place and your ability to move the scenery and zoom in and out created a bit of a challenge, making the hidden object scenes more fun. Most of the objects were very tiny, but not impossible to find. Strangely enough, the princess was turned into a man-eating monster and it is your job to cure her...OR ELSE!! So the journey begins, taking you to far-off places. And what a good, surprise ending!! For me this game was lots of fun, I enjoyed every moment. Nothing dark or foreboding, no scares or demons, no frustrating challenges. Glad that I stepped out of the box for this one. I feel my money was well spent and cheerfully recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The most fun ever I had more fun with this game than any other HOG/Adventure game I have ever played I found myself fishing knights out of moats with a big magnet hitched to a crane, nudging an oak tree’s brain back into its trunk so it could remember the password, sawing off a part of a rainbow, rounding up monkeys with bananas, catapulting crates onto pirate ships, rounding up butterflies to trade to ninja’s for kidnapped brides, building a wife for a snowman, helping a polar bear look more scholarly, cross dressing aliens, helping Juanita, the ostrich turn into a dragon (so her dragon husband won’t divorce her) , by catapulting her into volcanic lake, etc, etc, etc It is a lighthearted joy. The 3D aspect may take some getting used to, but I you allow yourself 15 minutes or so at start of the game to fool around with the controls, you it will find it become very simple to navigate. I did have problems with the custom cursor, though, it seemed to get stuck in the ‘tool’ mode, and so I switched to system cursor and had no problems. With most in the genre being stuck in the horror melodrama themes, it was so great to find one game that was a lighthearted slapstick comedy. Please, if anyone knows of any other good adventure/HOG’s that are not horror based, please recommend them to me. It was just so wonderful spending the last 5 hours playing without being exposed to the worst evils imaginable. I normally do not write reviews (and as you can tell I am very bad at it) but I felt I had to reach out to others who are like myself love this genre of gamming, that there is at least one game that will not give you nightmares.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Funny, original take on the hidden object genre This is a completely different take on the hidden object game genre. The locations aren't a series of 3D floating islands and in fact everything (including the objects) is rendered in 3D except for some of the puzzles. The game doesn't take itself seriously and is full of silly, whimsical humour as you travel to varied, exotic locations as you try to save the princess. Puzzles are of above average difficulty, but I didn't run into anything frustrating. You can rotate and zoom into each main location and you _have_ to rotate as some of the hidden objects can only be seen from certain angles. I liked the way this worked. :) I'd suggest that instead of using the zoom and arrow icons in the lower right, you use the mouse scroll wheel (if you have one) for zooming and hold down the right mouse button and move the mouse at the same time to rotate. It's much more convenient. The hidden objects are small, but I didn't have a problem finding them and rarely used any hints. While I generally like colourful games, this was perhaps a little _too_ colourful and made the game a little less attractive. Overall it was fun and refreshing to see something new in the genre, especially with such a light-hearted story!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FANTASTIC DIFFERENT GAME This reminded me of The Tiny Bang Story which I absolutely loved. I enjoyed visiting different worlds and fulfilling fun tasks. I am so sick of hidden object games so congratulations to the makers of this game. More, more please!!!!
