House of 1000 Doors: Family Secrets Collector's Edition is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 270.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My first Hidden Object game This was the first hidden object game I played and it had a lot to do with getting me hooked on the genre. I really love this game and still re-play it. The storyline is original and hasn't been repeated in a bunch of other games after it and the plot is very creative. I also liked the bonus game, which I typically ignore. The hidden objects are clever, without being ridiculous and the puzzles are challenging. Though it is an older game now, it still holds its own with cookie cutter hidden object games that are being released now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ENTER THE HOUSE OF 1000 DOORS Without spoiling the game, let me just say that this is one of the most moving , heart- tearing ( you will need kleenex) well written, well acted, amazingly drawn H.O.G.'s that I've ever played at Big fish games. ( and I've been here since nov 2008). You need to find your way through the house. Along the way there is a cast of well --Many. I've only gotten through the third of seven chapters and it took me 3 and a quarter hours. The nice thing, is each chapter(?) is like a small short story. unlike many HOG's you get the beginning,, middle and end of that particular Ghost tale then you pick up the things that will help you move on through the next and so on until you get to the end. One note use the strategy guide sparingly only to make sure you are headed in the right direction or when you are truly stuck. and make sure your computer is at it's brightest setting. Believe me in some of the scenes it will help. Have fun, try it than if you like it spend the two credits ON A MONDAY -- you get a great game AND 4 stamps 3 and a bonus. Hey, a good game double stamps, what more do you want? And if it's not your thing that's okay too. You'll find something else.

I have completed the Bonus Chapter once, and it was fun.The artwork of this game is beautiful, and the music is amazing! The ghost thing is slightly creepy..but I like ghosts! In other words.. If you like hidden object games, you'll surely love this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from House of 1000 ways to have fun I thought the game was a lot of fun. I wonder which of Kate's parents was the child of Maggie Fox? I loved the background music. I wonder if Kate will ever live in the house?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What's Not to Love??? This game is amazing! It's one of those games that I compare all others to. The depth of this game is superb, & you find yourself immersed in a house that just shows up out of nowhere. There are a number of characters to meet & help. The mini-games are not incredibly long or difficult, but they do manage to make you think a bit. A word of warning: There's a great deal of back & forth in this game. You go to several different rooms on several different floors quite a bit, to the point it gets tedious. But if that's my only gripe, it's not worth worrying about. The hint & skip re-charge at a fairly quick pace, so no worries there. There are also "morph' objects to collect along the way, so keep an eye out for them. This is one of my favorite games. I've played it so much that I have it memorized, so I may have to put it on the back burner for awhile. But the next game in the series is just as much of an adventure #maybe more# than this one! So enjoy! I highly recommend this game to everyone, beginners to advanced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my favorite games to play!! I have played the SE 3 times and recently purchased the CE. This is one CE that is worth the price. A nice well thought out bonus game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My New Favourite Game This game was such a pleasure to play! The flow of the story was fantastic, the HO scenes were well done and the puzzles were just the right level of challenging. Great graphics, fun bonus content as well. I'll play this one many times over!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1000 Praises! This game was just outstanding! The graphics are well done. The scenery is very well thought out.The voices are appropriate for the characters that they have. The "reunion scenes" are quite interesting. I like how they did those with a hint of "magic". There are so many things to do in this game. It is not the same "pick it up and use it immediately" type of game. Many of the items that are picked up are not used for a long time. The inventory can become quite full before items are used. There are a lot of different type of puzzles here and lots of HOG. There are 27 portraits to find. Several of them give you items that you need in other places. There is a map that lets you transport to different areas. This saves a lot of time walking to and fro, unless you like to do that. It is also good when you are tired and don't want to think. It highlights areas that have things you need to do. This is great when you can remember what the item is used with, but not which room the item is in! There are 36 "morphing" items that you can find. (I never seem to look hard enough to find them all!) The game itself offered more time value than I have seen in quite some time. The CE version blew me away with how many extras you got to do! It was a nice, long chapter. I am please by that as I don't really get into the graphic designs, wall papers, etc. I'll never use those. The extended game play is what I am about. I always play on intermediate or hard. If I recall correctly, you only had the choice of expert or beginner. I went for the expert. It made it more challenging and that was bang on! This is definitely a game I will play again in the future!
