The Secret Order: New Horizon is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 84.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from PART 1 - THE START OF YOUR TIME TRAVEL ADVENTURE REVIEW FROM COMPLETED GAME This is the first of four time travel games. The next three are Secret Order - Masked Intent, Secret Order - Ancient Times and Secret Order - Beyond Time. You play Sarah Pennington and your mission is to find the rings so that you can travel back in time to save all members of the Order who were killed in a fire. You use a communicator to talk with your nephew, Mike, who is in the future. In this game there are no modes of play or voiceovers, but there is dialogue. However, don't let that deter you - this is a fantastic game. The graphics are kind of grey, darkish and muddy - sort of like living in the ghetto without any sunlight. You can turn up the brightness a couple of notches if you feel it looks a bit dark. However, you can see everywhere clearly. Music is excellent - mainly orchestral and in some parts chanting which matches perfectly with the game. The hidden objects games were straightforward and slightly interactive. They were quite a lot of them but they weren't hard to do and don't take long. There were a great variety of mini-games. Some were use the crane to break through the concrete to get into the sewer, rotate the rings to line up with patterns on the right, turn on all the lights, etc. These had a good challenge to them and I really enjoyed them. There is a lot to do in this game and I seemed to be finding and using a lot of tools and gadgets - I felt like a bloke tinkering around in his garage. Strangely enough I loved it. Up all the game took me about 6 hours to play, not skipping or using hints. I'm about to start on Secret Order - Masked Intent now to carry on with the story. Time travel is my ultimate favourite and I can't get enough of it. Definitely worth putting in your collection. This game is slightly old hat without the modes of play or voiceovers but I'm sure that is going to change in the next game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice game! You are visited by your nephew, coming out of the future. He tells you you have to set things right in the past, and you have to find a time-travel divice to achieve that. The story grabbed me from the very first second, the cutscenes and the way the story is told is captivating! But I really, really missed some voiceovers! They would have brought the game from great to absolutely fantastic! Nice to see a game that is set in 'real'time, not some fantasy-world, it was a nice change. This is not the easiest game I have ever played, but I really loved the challenge. HOS and puzzles were very good. Try it, I'm sure you'll love it! Have a great time!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved the game. Puzzels very challenging--some a little too hard for me. But, I loved the game; able to get through it all and found the end well-worth the play time. I was always very anxious to get back to the game when I had to log off. Enjoyed the black and white change from color and visa versa.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I REALLY LIKED THIS ONE I have to add that the hints weren't well very helpful, other than that I liked this game very much. Great story line, mini games etc. After a while I totally got immersed in the game and that is always a sign that the game was very good! Happy Gaming

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun, Well Designed Game TSO: New Horizon has all the elements of a good game. The puzzles run the gamut from average to challenging but all of them are accessible. You don't need a doctorate in math to solve them. The HOSs are fair. You might have to search hard, but everything can be found. The graphics and cutscenes were good. The biggest thing I liked was that the game was designed without the annoying elements you find in other games. In many games, it is really irritating when you find an object in the first few minutes that cannot be used until a few hours into the game. Or, conversely, when you find a puzzle at the beginning of the game that cannot be solved until the end. In this game, objects and puzzles were all encountered at logical points in the game. Also, in this game objects were found in places that made sense. If you needed a can opener, you would find it in the kitchen, not in the bog behind the cemetery. Finally, the length of the game is good. I got my money's worth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from i really enjoyed this game hint/skip charge fairly fast. no map. don't have to carry items around very long before using them. most of the the interactive scenes are fairly logical as to what you need to do. it does not hand hold you. i got stuck a few times. it was a little challenging. i had to cheat a few times. just couldn't wrap my head around what to do and then when i found out it was a DUH! moment. it was time machine game where you come back from the future to help your aunt fix things so they didn't turn out the way they had, but this time it is ok to change the past which actually is our present.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ENGAGING AND FANTASTIC GEM This review is based on the completed game. I loved everything about this game except the size of the hidden objects. However, the reason I gave this game 5 stars is due to the excellent and engaging storyline. So many HOS released today seem to concentrate solely on the HO and storylines are sorely lacking. From the first scenes through to the end I stayed interested and excited to see what would happen next. IMO I believe the only reason this was not a CE is due to the tiny size of the objects but if you can overlook that you'll be getting a CE quality game packaged as an SE. It looks like there may be a continued story in the making. I certainly hope so. Happy Gaming!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great game! Stunningly gorgeous graphics--not like many other games. Interesting locations and activities, good story, modern feeling. I really enjoyed playing this game and it seemed to last a long time which is nice. Highly recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stuff from the future Based on a completed SE. This was a rare gem. Totally different from other games I've played. Instead of graveyards and princesses, there is time travel and mob hitmen. Good stuff. What I like about this and a couple other rare finds is that with every new chapter, you restrict the number of locations you have to travel back and forth between. I find that to be a time waster and a pain. The art was excellent. And I play all games with sound effects only, so I can't speak to the music. It had all the bells and whistles of CE but at the SE price. Nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really good game Storyline a bit confusing, but interesting. Time travel is involved and finding rings that belong to a secret organization, and restoring the legacy and the lives of the members who were wiped out in a previous time period. No VOS, only text HOS-interactive. Large and orderly, but not real clear. Puzzles are hard and I wasnt sure what to do on some of them. Long skip button Hint system is a direction arrow only No diary No map Very realistic scenes, esp. the construction site Great music One character is a dead ringer for Mike Tyson, the boxer, down to the face tatoo. A good thinking game. No sparkles. Medium length: 4 hours casual
