Dark Heritage: Guardians of Hope is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 48.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost missed this one.... because I was a less experienced player when I demo'd the CE I made a note about this game that I had to use too many hints. While I was unable to go back and demo it again b/c my trial was up, I demo'd the SE and was getting around quite well this time without the overuse of hints. (I wish we were able to re-demo after a certain length of time) This game appeared to have come out in 2012 (oldest review I saw) but felt like a much older game and I LIKED it. There was no jump map to move the game quickly from place to place.. I had to think about things, solve problems, and remember where I needed to go next. For someone who detests standard slightly interactive list HOs I didn't mind these at all b/c they were easier on the eyes and I found myself relaxing during this game..not in such a hurry to use a jump map and get somewhere else. Maybe these older games seem longer for this reason? Dunno but I played a good 4 hours and am now wondering what else I've missed.... SE ends conclusively.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A good one Nice graphics, well done HOS, interesting puzzles, good length and chance to use your memory skills. The only complaint are the sparkles for the HOS even in advanced mode.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from really enjoyed this game i had a good time playing this game. it wasn't too hard and i liked that. there is a diary, skip/hint charged in about 30 seconds. played relaxed, (2 levels) sound on low and expected for this kind of game. you are on an island after being summoned by your mentor. you are told that the chosen one is the only one that can help the island be reclaimed from the evil that has overtaken it. sequel?....i feel sure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great game Well this game kept me entertained for quite some time. The graphics were excellent and the cut scenes a brilliant touch. The puzzles were good enough to get me scratching my head at times - and even the HOS were ok. Overall I definitely recommend this game to all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Game This was a very enjoyable. The graphics were beautiful. The challenge was good but not too hard. The puzzles were the same level. I don't like demon stories so I did not give an excellent for the story line. Level of challenge was very good but not as hard as I love. Still very good. It was one of those games I could not wait to get back to play each time I had to take a break.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enjoyable game Plays likes a movie with great graphics. Good story. Great VOS, especially the talking crow. Nice music. HOS clear and interactive. Games were good, more guessing than strategy. Very enjoyable 5 hours casual play.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Game, Loads of Fun! This is a great game! The graphics are great, the VO's are on spot and the HOS's are just right. Good storyline. I only purchased the SE but I wish now that I had bought the CE. The SE was quite lengthy and I can only imagine that the CE would have added so much too that! Definitely worth every penny. This game held my attention to the very last scene and definitely left me looking forward to another game by this developer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One to play I loved this game for all sorts of reasons. The cut scenes with real real actors conjure up a great atmosphere, especially as you see flashes of other things going on too. Other animated scenes really fitted into the whole ethos of the game and I loved the ones with the little figures. The scrolls you find also have excellent animation, again adding to the atmosphere of the game. The storyline in the game unfolds gradually and well. I did guess the twist though I expect that's because I've played games like this before. It's similar to many other games but I did feel there was a freshness about the various places, the HO scenes and many of the mini-games. Slight negatives were the journal: I didn't find it very useful and in fact sometimes it seemed to have things in an odd order (bits I'd found earlier coming after other things). That's a minor niggle as I didn't use it too much. There's a lot of to-ing and fro-ing so a map would have been useful I suppose. However, in general it was pretty clear what you were supposed to do, the only problem was remembering the places where you might use the object you'd just found. As with all games like this you get the odd bit such as 'oh leaves, can I kick them aside?', but no, you need to find a rake. Still, that's the point of playing such games! On final observation: this game is supposedly set on a island somewhere off Scotland, in which case your friend the blackbird has strayed very far from home as he is a red-winged North American blackbird, not the all black, yellow-billed European one! Still, he's very useful so I supposed I shouldn't complain. A really fun game to play and highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great HOG! I love a good HOG and this one is a good one! I read the reviews and tried it out and then I bought it without hesitation! I would highly recommend this game, I have played them all and this one is good!! Play the trial and be prepared to be hooked, that's all I can say. Let the game speak for itself.
